LTR Visa is Now available for Long Term Residency
Just to share some feedback... despite the BOI telling me to come to Chamchuri no need to pay THB 1,000 for friendly relationships and no need to fly to Bangkok for dinner and extra activities Koh Samui immigration issued the certificate for free, it took 5 mins to apply and pick up was ready a week later. Total time spent 10 mins, total money spent 0

LTR Visa is Now available for Long Term Residency
Hi guys, quick question... Can you get a residency certificate at any immigration office or do you have to go to BOI Chamchuri? BOI is telling me to come to the BOI office 18th floor. Any other experiences? Need to get a drivers license. Thanks

LTR Visa is Now available for Long Term Residency
Unfortunately, it might not be that simple. Even with a tax treaty things can get complicated. While US social security might be tax exempt in Thailand, there are other streams of income (such as investments, rental income, etc) that might be treated differently in Thailand vs the US. Rental income, for example, can be offset in the US with depreciation, expenses, capital investments, upkeeps etc. which can lower the tax liability quite a bit (even create rental losses). Thailand allows only up to 30 percent standard deductions which could create a tax liability in Thailand (while it might not in the US). So, it will be interesting to see how this develops

LTR Visa is Now available for Long Term Residency
The main applicant was approved, so I don't think you can make changes anymore. Under step 2 ("visa"), personal information, the spouse is listed, but the "personal dependent" section shows no details (I don't believe there was an option to add anything/anyone here). I have reached out to the BOI, but no response so far. Might have to try a new LTR-O

LTR Visa is Now available for Long Term Residency
Does anyone know how the LTR spousal visa works when applying overseas? The notification of qualification endorsement for LTR lists only the main applicant, the spouse is not mentioned. Should the spouse have been listed on the endorsement letter, or will the evisa application accept the LTR of the main applicant during the document submission process for the spouse?

LTR Visa on SS from USA - Medical Insurance
For LTR - Wealthy Pensioner -, the requirements are pretty strict, $80k in passive income per year. That can be SS, Rental income, dividends, interest, capital gains. They will add it all together and "follow the rules". You will have to provide tax returns/evidence. In terms of insurance, you either have to have $100k in "liquid savings" over the last 12 months (cash/deposits - investments are not accepted) or you can get the min required health insurance. AXA offers a health insurance plan for LTR (THB 300,000 deductible, THB 2,000,000 max), if you are in the 65-70 age range, it will be about THB 21,000/year. Once a year reporting, fast track airport access for immigration and THB 50k cost for 10 years make it attractive IMHO
