  1. * I assume bridge #3 between Nakhon Phanom & Thakhek is open. * It also looks like you can't use a Lao eVisa to cross there. Am i correct on both? Thank you
  2. Thank you to everyone for the comments / suggestions. Norman, approximately how much did you have to pay on top of the original purchase price to have the set arrive at your front door in Thailand? I'm leaning towards just a shikibuton and throw it on top of whatever decent thin covering i can find. Do you find the tatami mat adds value to the whole sleeping experience?
  3. Hi, I'm in need of a good quality mattress to sleep on the floor. I'm not your typical Westerner when it comes to sleeping. I require a pretty firm mattress to get a proper nights sleep. I'm not sure where to begin looking for something decent like this in Thailand. Any experience or knowledge highly praised.
  4. Thanks Greenwich / ourdon. Looks like one-way flights are pretty much the same as a return ticket from where I am. Not sure if booking a preferred return flight 180 or 270 days after arrival is a wise idea. Might bring about more questions and requests from the Consulate. Thoughts / experiences?
  5. Hi, Do you have to show a flight out of Thailand while applying for a STV? If so, can you show a return flight 180 days after arrival? Or is it better to keep it to 90 days or less to follow the initial permission to stay?
  6. Any recommendations on a decent mid-range washing machine? Don't need anything too fancy. Washing drum with an attached spinner. Many thanks
  7. Umm, sounds like my other less intelligent half volunteered to leave it behind during negotiations before moving in. Why? Not exactly sure. I made my opinion clear, rattled a little face, and decided to move on and wait for the next battle to appear.
  8. Is there a website with a list of Bangkok hotels that meet the full Stop & Go requirements? Do you have to stay in the hotel for a full 24 hour period? If yes, do the hotels typically include 3 meals in the price? Thanks,
  9. Many thanks Lopburi. Looks like Shopee has it on sale. I'll give it a try....
  10. If it was up to me I'd buy a 6 or 8 kW heater. Unfortunately, we're moving into a rental unit and whatever we buy will stay in the house after we leave. Any idea what the best options are for on-demand mid to lower priced electric water heaters? I've used too many rubbish heaters that aren't worth buying even if you leave them behind in a couple years.
  11. Joe, If you enter on a STV and complete your initial 90 days, can you then apply for a 60 day Covid extension (if available)? or is your only option to apply for a 90 day STV extension?
  12. Thanks for that Joe. So if I arrive with only 90 days insurance and decide to extend stay can I purchase additional insurance while in Thailand or does it have to be done beforehand?
  13. Thank you Joe. That site doesn't mention insurance for a regular 60 day TV. Any reason for that? I might end up going that route to simplify life.
  14. Planning on applying for a STV soon. I imagine the topic has been discussed previously but couldn't find an easy answer. What's the cheapest insurance through a Thai company that meets requirements? In-patient: bt400,000 Out-patient: bt40,000 Covid coverage of no less than usd100,000
  15. Hoping to arrive with a Special Tourist Visa and extend it for 90 days at least once. Does immigration ask to see insurance?
