OP: Is your current crappy internet service via WiFi, or do you have a "phone jack" in the wall where a modem/router is plugged in?
If you only have WiFi internet access, but no phone jacks in the apartment, you don't have many options. If there is a phone jack, then then KhunBENQ's suggestion to go to a 3BB (or TrueMove or TOT) office with your condo name and address is your best bet.
Their is a phone jack and old school style land line phone. However I'm using the apartments wifi for my connection. Are you saying I could go to a true move place and try to use that for better internet?

You could always use DTAC (or similar mobile provided) and use your phone as a WiFi hotspot....I pay 399 Baht a month for DTAC......nothing special but does the job.
Is it over 3 MBPS?

I'm not sure I live in an apartment with nothing but thai's.

I apologize in advance if this the wrong place to put this question. I wanted to know what the rules were if for example I had something mailed to me from USA to Thailand? For example if I had some clothes mailed to me...would this be a issue or something against the rules? Thanks in advance.

I live here in Bangkok and I wanted to know if I could get my blood sugar tested at the Bangkok Christian hospital or anywhere else like that? I have been to the Bangkok Christian hospital and had no issues getting the proper service. Any one have some recommendations? Thank you in advance.

Anyone ever send money home via Western Unioun? I live in Bangkok and anyone know a place that has a English speaker for this? I was thinking somewhere on Silom road.

I'm going to Aranya Phratet again for a border run. I have done it before in July and right now my 1900 baht visa extension expires on Sept 4th. I'm American and another guy I know just went to Aranya for his second border crossing and said that immigration only asked him why he is in Thailand so long? Well just said he got in still after explaining he loved being here. So my point is how much are they still cracking down on the multiple border runs? For VOA people.

Hello I live in Bangkok here in Silom. I wanted to know where I can find a cardiologist who can deal with Westerners. Also does anyone know the cost of such a thing? Thank You.

I'm sorry I asked this question twice. Maybe one of the mods can delete this one.

I asked a couple recruiters but couldn't get a straight answer. Is not possible to get a z visa unless you are in your home country? So if I was in Thailand and tried getting z visa (I'm American). Would I have to just go back home because the consulate would end up saying that anyways.

Would I run into any issues at Thai mmigration with my meds? Let's say with out any prescription paper but in original container. How about Vitiamins but we're still sealed in bottle?

Yes I will be working in Thailand that will be my source of income. Also I would be trying to send that money to a U.S. Bank.
That small amount is going to pose no problem at all from a Thai bank, WU, PayPal, etc. You'll just have to deal with the associated fees/exchange rate which could approach 5 to 10% for such a small amount when all direct fees and lower exchange rate are calculated.
Unless your money is being sourced from Thailand, like working in Thailand, if you have a U.S. bank account sending money from that U.S. bank account would be a lot easier, faster, cheaper with that bank's ibanking. Most U.S. banks don't even charge for an ACH payment, sending an electronic check, a Bill Payment, etc....I said most U.S. banks...some of the more evil, fee-hungry banks will charge a fee for certain types of transfers. If you currently have a U.S. bank account, especially one that don't charge you any monthly maintenance fees, I recommend you do not close it....it can get hard to open a bank account if you now have only a foreign address.

I'm talking about Thai bank to USA bank. 220-240 dollars a month.
Depends on the amount being sent....usually a person only enters Personal Expenses, Living Expenses, To Pay Bills, etc. if such an entry is required. And if sending from a Thai bank there are significant fees associated with that push an exchange rate expense to convert baht to another currency like USD.Don't you have to proof why you are sending money? If you use banks.
And is your question related to sending from a U.S. bank or from a Thai bank? What amounts are you talking about? A couple hundred dollars....thousands of dollars per transaction, etc?

I'm moving to Thailand soon. From studying this forum I can see sending money home can be a problem.(possibly) I will be living in Si saket province. Would I just save myself a lot of heartache by just using Western Union to send money back home? Thx in advance

Thank you for for the kind suggestions. I need a really good internet connection. I'm doing this for online work and my speed has to be 3 mbps. So I dont know or think a 3 G would probably work to well. I talk to my landlord and she said the only one I could do at this apartment was 3bb service because something about how old this building is. So I guess those are my options unless someone knows more or better than I do.
