True Internet was running a special on top of a special. We signed up for their 200/200 Fiber and they threw in a Gigatex 2.4+5 WiFi router and the Inno Hybrid+ set top box for 599thb package (with a 200thb lifetime package discount).

I think my service gets the 'basic' channels, and had a 2 week 'preview' of others. We use the set top box for playing youtube mostly. I do like using the google voice assistant to get around needing a keyboard for search.

Yeah, think that's the deal my landlord signed up for. However, the little tyke doing the installation said for B500 he'd crack it for the full package which of course I jumped on. It lasted about 6 weeks and now everything's gone, ha. Good while it lasted...

TrueIDTV IPTV service is an odd duck.

On our setup the Inno Hybrid+ set top box is connected to the GigaTex Fiber Router by both a CATV coaxial cable and over WiFi (with the TV content streamed over the CATV coax); and the box assigned a TrueID for channel content and accounting authentication and billing purposes. Oddest setup I've ever encountered from either a Cable or Internet provider.

Some of the Channel 'content' when first provisioned is only available to you for a couple of weeks, then you have to subscribe if you want to keep having access. It may be the box is assigned the wrong TrueID.

Take a look at the TrueVisions Channel Lineup and see what channels should be available under the package subscribed. If you encounter a discrepancy then call True and see if they can rectify or clarify why.

Yes, have exactly the same set-up, very odd. Unfortunately it's all been organised by my landlord through unofficial channels so think what you've described is the case. Don't know who the box is assigned to but will check that channel listing so thanks for that and then next stop try and get hold of the technicians who installed it. Cheers

  3. Recently had an Inno Hybrid+ android box installed by True Visions. All good until a couple of weeks ago when Error code: E048-32 (No signal found) started appearing and now I'm down to less than 50% of original channels working. Anyone experiencing same or can shed any light? Cheers

My girlfriend worked it out. Press OK on the True remote > navigate right using the ring surrounding the OK button > click on the subtitles icon > choose "Original" language.

Oh my Buddha, this has had me stumped for days. Praise be to your girlfriend! Cheers!

  5. Hello all, this is one for the Retirement Visa experts, asking for a friend.

Scenario: friend been living in TL for 14 years on an RV. He took a trip back to US just before C-19 kicked off and now he can't get back in to TL, obviously. His visa expires in late June. The question is, are any concessions being made for this situation or will he have to come back in on a 30 day stamp and re-apply for retirement visa? I have no idea about any of this so appreciate the help. Cheers

  6. Hi all, haven't managed to find a recent thread on this so will ask again: can anyone recommend an English speaking, motorcycle  repair / maintenance outfit in centre of town-ish? Normally go to Ball Racing but just rolled up there and they've packed-up shop. Cheers in advance.

  7. I had the same interest, but couldn't find any either. Maybe the clientele - foreigners in BKK wanting business visa to CN - are too few for local agents to bother about.

On the other hand, the new CN visa application centre in the Thanaphum Bulding on New Petchaburi Road is a quite pleasant and seems more efficient than the old one at Rama 9.

I went a weekday late morning and amazingly had my application filed within 15 min!

If anyone's interested… having just returned from the new Chinese visa application centre in Thanapoom Tower, I can concur with Globalist. They recommend you get there before 10:30 but suggest late morning/early afternoon. Well organised, staff helpful and efficient, no queuing, in and out job done. Easy...

Okay, cheers mate. I might have to suck it up...

  9. This topic has been approached prior but without any real resolution.

I need to get a business visa for China, here in Thailand.

I would much rather pay an agent to jump through all the hoops so can anyone recommend an agency, please?

I've googled, searched, contacted everyone I can find but no joy...

    Cheers

  10. Nice to see, we have a p-ing contest going on here!

But back on subject: I have spoken to far more than 20!

And I would never come to a clear judgement on what they said!

I guess, some are quiet happy about the amount they make...at least until they are over 30 and show the signs of ever present alcohol and drug abuse.

Which by the way is rampant in the bars, I occasionally have a drink!

One reason why I have trouble believing the "are happy"- part!

If you need to booze or drug your brain out every night, I don't believe you are happy and like your job as much as you say!

Just look at the culture of hedonistic escapism in most 1st world societies. People going at it hard on the booze and drugs every weekend to blot out their pointless existence in shitty jobs. Getting spanked because you hate your life is not restricted to sex workers...

  11. It's modern economics and the same story in all developed nations: more children wanted to increase consumption & tax revenue, in order to revitalise flagging economies and pay for aging populations. These are ecomomic reasonings because we're not societies any more, we're economies. But when does it end? Growth can't go on indefinitely; resources are finite and our host planet is already overpopulated with a parasitic species. What about community? Sustainability? They don't get a look-in because it's all about money and maintaining the staus quo for the big-boys at the top of the food-chain.

  12. gain explained what had happened and it needed a proper job, no expense spared. Picked it up yesterday, bosh, THB2500 and good as new. Beautiful job. Gotta love Thailand...

What did they do for 2500 baht ? just the electrics or total engine strip down and reassembly ?

I don't know if the engine was stripped down. Bloke didn't speak a word of English and my Thai/engine knowledge about on par at close to zero. But from what I could gather all the bits that were recommend above were done, filters and all that. Fuel tank flushed and everything dried out. Would you expect a strip down for 2500? I'm not sure but it's running as good as it ever was so maybe...

  13. Insurance pay up that 2500 ?

My Class A doesn't cover flooding but the apartment where I stay said I could make a claim on there's. Along with the bike there were about 10 cars, laundry room, kitchens, stores, all ruined. Looks like a war zone down there...

  14. Quick update on the Mini Submarine Xtreme: first stop was Honda Mityon on Pattaya Tai. The girl there spoke great English so it was easy to explain what happened and that the bike was insured. Just fix everything, please, no problem, yah dok jai. Dubiously she rung back a few hours later saying it was done, cost THB600. Of course all they'd done was change the oil and the filter and a new spark plug. It rode home like an old dog with all the electrics still shot. Then back at the apartment randomly bumped into a guy who said he could help. He fetched a pick-up and took me to one of the rag&bone mechanics on 3rd road. Again explained what had happened and it needed a proper job, no expense spared. Picked it up yesterday, bosh, THB2500 and good as new. Beautiful job. Gotta love Thailand...
