  1. Yeah, I thought it had all been put to bed because it was nice and quiet for a few weeks but now it's getting back to the old routine. Wakes me around 0400-0500 every morning. Think the f*ckin dj turns it right up for the final half hour, just to give everyone a grand finale. Cheers, buddy. Honestly, the disregard is unreal. But hey ho, TIT, of course it's operating outside licensing hours but who gives a sh*t? Hopefully it will get busted. Kids, drugs, whatever. Just get the place shut down.

Best cheap bed is from a shop at the top of Pattaya Klang next to Sukhumvit, sorry forget name. Much better than Index etc.

Think it might have shut up shop. Looked deserted when I shot past it a few days ago

Is it me or is this place getting noisier again?..... noise didn't finish until 4.20 am this morning.

Yeah, does seem to be creeping back onto the early hours radar...

It is interesting to look at the past posts of many of the haters who claim this place is just a big rip off.  Seems their whole life is one big complaint or rip off.  Maybe some of you look like easy targets, who knows.  Or maybe, some are too drunk and have no clue?   I see many guys like that.  But hey OK,  just yell out "I gave you 1000 b" so everyone can hear you and the camera can catch it.  With many trips and now a resident, I have never had a problem with this.  Sorry to hear so many of you are victims.

Not a hater. Not a victim. Not claiming Pattaya is a big rip off. Not complaining. Just commenting that short-changing is a reasonably common practice and it's worth checking your change. You should calm down on your generalisations, mate.

You have been short changed in "all the supermarkets" and 7-11 numerous times??  Sure OK.  I have lived here over a year and it has never happened to me.

On giving the benefit of the doubt some Thais are not the best at math.  I am sure there is some short changing but I have also actually been given more money back then I deserved.

Just because it hasn't happened to you, doesn't mean it hasn't happened to me. And judging by the other posts in this thread, I'm not alone. So your insinuation that I'm lying is ridiculous. And as for the bad maths, have a word with yourself. They're using computerised tills.

  6. Mate, I've been short-changed in all the Farang supermarkets plus 7-11's numerous times. Before coming here I would never have dreamt of standing in front of a cashier counting my change but do it as standard now. Never had a problem pulling them up on it either. It's always a smile and a mistake and a slightly pissed-off cashier whose just seen a mini-haul disappear. Tea-leafs, mate. Don't let the smiles fool ya.

The new militarily appointed "article 44 major" of Pattaya has has said he wants to change the sin/sex city image and attract "high end tourist and families"
I think he's got a monumental job to do because high ends expect hi end infrastructure, not potholed roads,un walkable sidewalks, rabid soi dogs, garbage dumped everywhere, waste water disposed of into the sea in designated swimming areas, taxis that won't use the meter and horrendous traffic jams every weekend.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Big job big job

  8. Hello all, one for any bike engine buffs out there. The MSX has started making a noise when changing down gears: a sort of whiny/grinding sound, immediately after releasing the clutch and disappears once revs stabilise. No other issues, no jumping out of gear or problems finding gears. If the throttle is open and then released quickly it also makes the same sound. Gears grinding? Clutch issue? Any help appreciated. Cheers

  9. Baht buses are a pain in the arse but they're also a great way of getting around for tourists & Thais alike. The problem is there's just too many of them. Regulating where they stop ain't gonna work. Why would it? Total disregard for every other aspect of road law. Their numbers need to be restricted/reduced by town hall but I'm guessing there's a brown envelope system at play which ain't gonna change either...

The place makes money for the right people else it would be gone days after it opened..

Yep. And no surprises the competition is now getting leaned on.... Selective raiding?

  11. I think something's changed because for the last week or so I haven't been kept awake as previous. Wasn't sure if it was just the delirium at first but it definitely has toned down a few notches. They still like to crank it up at quarter to four for the closing flourish but I reckon someone has had a word...

  12. Local business owners (condos and hotels) should be jumping on this hard. They know the system and they stand to lose the most when people start protesting with their feet. Pointless floating it here I know but...

Well Mr bludshot you have the comedy fox news, 3 Russian channels, an Arab news program and Singapore magazine type news and 60 odd channels of complete garbage, happy viewing on sophon.

Ha ha, indeed. Flicking through the channels an exercise in frustration. Only button worth pressing is 'off'...

I was right, the building is made of steel corrugated panels which offer no sound proofing whatsoever, what is inside goes straight through the structure, should never have been allowed to open in that location especially with this type of flimsy construction - shaking the whole residential area

The more people complain about this debacle the better

Yeah, how it's been allowed to open there is beyond all reason. There's literally houses 30m from it's front door. I've had my block manager on it for the last couple of weeks and he's as baffled as I am as to why more locals aren't complaining about it...

Is that the one in by the Nova Group hotels?.....if so, yes..... it has woken me up several times recently. I normally manage to get back to sleep easily though. The fact that it faces into a residential area is wrong.... it shouldn't, the others on 3rd Rd don't.

Yeah, I'm used to a bit of noise coming from the venues on 3rd Road which is no problem - this is central, after all - but this is another level; my apartment is vibrating. It's a couple of hundred metres north of Nova Express. Not sure it's the one you mean because it only opened on the 14th...

  16. So, anyone else being shaken out of bed by the baselines coming from the new D.N.A. nightclub on 3rd Road? Had a look at it this morning after two sleepless nights and it even looks like a giant speaker. It's going strong till 4am which is a bit out of order in a residential area, imo. Is this legal? Any chance of the BIB shutting it down or do I have to find somewhere else to live for the sake of my sanity?

  17. There's a little row of Thai mansion blocks  - 3 or 4 storey - on soi Chaloem Phrakiat 9, (off 3rd road at the Nova Express). Certainly no pools or in-house massage but good sizes and prices between 10 - 14k. I've got a one-bedder for 13.3k plus bills and it's massive, floor to ceiling French doors on 3 sides. Does me. Only downside; loads of soi dogs hanging around and a bit of noise from the entertainment venues on 3rd road at night, although they have been quiet lately of course but not for too much longer I'm sure. Just about squeezes in to your geographic spec as well
