  1. Trip to Soi Yodsak??? :o

A reply to replies so far before I go to bed - alone! I had to google Soi Yodsak, not having got to Pattaya yet. Found a reference in a Wikipedia article. On the other website someone suggested Barons!

Cancer or enlargement of the prostate? Have you had that checked?

    Tested negative 2 years ago.

Are you hoping to have a baby and that is why you include the last option?

Yes. I very much want that soon. I also mentioned it because I found a number of references to the need to resolve this issue in some cases of infertility. I did ask a doctor (a recently trained locum) in London for a fertility test, but was refused, as it was 'not allowed on the NHS unless I'd been trying for 2-3 years with a partner.

The most intriguing reference I found was an American 'Christian' website called 'The Marriage Bed', which discusses a method to resolve the problem. Perhaps I should get it translated into Thai!! I could discuss it then in bed!

  2. Don't bother with the anti-rabies until you actually get bitten by a dog.

Don't bother with the anti-malarials unless you plan on going into malarial areas.

I should have mentioned that about rabies. And as for malaria, I understand that even in malarial areas medical prophyaxis is not necessarily recommended because of the complicated pattern of resistance. Cover up, rub on, and repel seem to be the answer. There's a Thai university website with a research department, which has a lot about it, but I've forgotten the name. I think a search should find it.

  3. My problem is not the usual ED, at least not normally. I have a problem with ejaculation, and this had become more persistent over the last 3-4 years when I've had more stress, which is likely to have been a factor. It has developed from inhibited ejaculation to retarded ejaculation or anejaculation. I have always had this problem and also with establishing and maintaining relationships. The interrelationship of the 2 problems has been complicated - just like life, I suppose. When I do have sexual relations, women seem to freak out, and either play around instead or give me up.

Without going into too many details, I'm convinced that it is a psychological problem, and I see 4 ways forward.

    1. Love. Aaah!

    2. Surrogate partner therapy - very expensive. I did start a course in UK, but was not convinced of its likelihood of success besides the cost. I did not get straight answers to some straight questions of my concerns about the course of the therapy.

    3. Specific massage techniques and exercises ('Chaap Ka Sei?). I understand these have been a feature of some Thai traditional massage, but have lapsed, and the only technique around generally seems to be to rub harder and harder until I become hot and painful. Presumably a view has grown that that 'sort of thing' belongs in the non-trad provision, and so only a few still have the necessary skills.

    4. Web searches got nowhere until recently, as they all came back to an assumption that all problems were ED, and so needed Viagra, etc, which in my case may only be a minor help. I have now found a reference to an Indian consultant in Mumbai, recommending vibro-ejaculators. These are a form of the sex toy, but more elaborate with controlled frequency of application, and should be applied for up to 2 hours at a time. I'm emailing him.

A final remedy is more appropriate at the stage when fertilisation may be sought, and extraction of sperm under anaestetic is then a way to go. Vets may know more about that in their dealings with stud farms and bull breeders!

I also see junk mail and other sources of references to increasing volume of semen and/or sperm (not the same, obviously). Even if they work, they may or may not be of use when none is being produced.

Does anyone have ideas of how to address the problem, and possible sources of help, clinical or otherwise, in Bangkok? I've never knowingly met anyone with the same complaint. Anyone want to own up and meet?

I hesitated to raise this problem on this forum, as an effort on another website last year only met with jokey remarks about various establishments. I do not deny that there are women who may be able to help. I'm sure there are but finding them is another matter, without an unlimited budget!

I've been emboldened by the constructive (sorry) discussion on breast enhancement here and (perhaps less so) on penile enhancement in the ladies forum.

I should say that endocrine analysis has not found any basic deficiencies, although I would like another analysis, and that would include an up-to-date HIV test. How much in BKK?

I'm due to spend 4 weeks in Thailand during October. If anyone is able to suggest a way forward, please advise. Thanks.

  4. I shall be spending more time in Thailand soon, and it seems sensible to have the inoculations I require there.

    1. I need some dental treatment, and so seek a hepatitis B course.

    2. If I spend time where it could make it necessary, how much for anti-rabies inoculations?

    3. I've had the first of the 3 jabs necessary for polio combined with tetanus, and typhoid, I think, and need the 2nd and 3rd.

In UK it would, I think £100-150, although I've been told that the polio should be available on NHS by a health nurse in a travel clinic because I never had the jab as a child, and it's becoming more widespread. There have been problems with the system in arranging the jabs here to date.

Finally, although I understand that malaria prophylaxis is not recommended normally in SE Asia, what do mefloquine or whatever is recommended cost? Mefloquine is more suitable, I think, in Africa.

    Can anyone offer guidance? Thanks.

  5. . He'll get asylum like every other asylum seeker. :o

Well now, see my entry on the "are you still coming" topic about Zimbabweans, most of whom in my experience and perception are amongst the most honourable and worthy people in the world (as a general rule, I emphasise), if not influenced by Mugabe's cronies and CIO, either for the oppressors or trying to survive.

  6. Yes, definitely still coming in 2 weeks to see my new love xxxxxxxx from my last visit in June, and to seek a teaching job at a rate more than the minimum needed for a work permit. LOS still evidently safer than many town centres here in UK on a Friday or Saturday night. I've also visited Zimbabwe often over the last 3-4 years, and was in Cape Town when security guards went on the rampage a few months ago. I knew nothing about it until I read about it the next morning! I recognise the comment of the business investor, as sentiment seems to be more important than reality in such decisions. I find many reactions to such events as the coup comical more than anything else. I might think twice about visiting the southern provinces, and certainly some other places around the world.

It seems the coup is now history in the media here in the UK. I was expecting to see a media scrum at Gatwick. Thailand was the 3rd item after a more news worthy aggressive heckler at a meeting addressed by the Home Secretary.

When Thailand did appear, the tanks are surrounded by crowd crush barriers, as they are now a tourist attraction! And I've not heard of an explicit comment, but I imagine the bars have been open tonight.

PS though, he appears to have just got off his plane, so no media scrum possible yet. Quote "he may seek permission to stay a while". I wonder what the immigration officer willl say! But I hear now that he was fast tracked away in minutes, and he probably has a multiple re-entry visa anyway. It could be revoked, but the Home Secretary has his heckler to think about. I know of far worthier Zimbabweans who wanted to stay a while and were bundled onto planes back home!!

Come Oct 5! For 4 weeks until I get my teaching job.

  7. Perhaps this thread should be in the health forum, like the one on breast augmentation. It could also perhaps be illustrated then! I knew more about mechanical methods, which I understand are often successful to varying extents (sorry). But implanted balls? - in the same place, I assume, like a prosthesis for having one too few. Can someone confirm, perhaps as a PM :o if too clinically explicit?

But thanks anyway, as I feel emboldened at last to start a thread, in the health forum, on my problem, less common than the usual ED. I started one on another more prurient (in places) website, but only got suggestions as to who I might try out! I'd like a clinical consultation and more general discussion.

You must have balls already to consider starting another topic like this after seeing these responses.

More or less than on BKKTONITE!!!

:D All joking aside, if you do have an issue and want others experiences go ahead and post it.

  8. Thaksin relaxing in London

    Is relaxing in London possible?

Thai Military ,can the generals actualy waddle unsupported far enough to make a coup work?

Well, I think I saw Thaksin in Oxford Street this afternoon (1515 BST), outside John Lewis to be precise, with some one who would seem to be his wife, both laden with shopping. He was behaving strangely and seemed to be trying to catch the attention of the driver of the bus I was on, and which had just left the bus stop. So she didn't stop. Further news not available.

Now isn't this an interesting post, but........? Was it him - perhaps? He did not seem to be surrounded by security guards. Maybe they were keeping their distance.

  10. "The visit to Thailand last week by the United Nations refugee chief may have come just in time to end an increasingly harmful approach to the problem. The government talked to Antonio Guterres realistically with an aim to end the 25-year refugee policy which had reached the point of diminishing returns. Mr Guterres talked to the government and to senior officials in an equally helpful manner. The result just might be a win-win programme that helps both refugees and Thailand."

I read the whole of this interesting article from 4 September on the Post's website a few days ago, but I need to register for the archive now to read the whole article. The registration page is currently faulty though.

I mention this article as it seems a suitable candidate for discussion on this or the news forum. Could the whole article or html link be posted? Or would there be copyright issues to address? Should this post perhaps be on the forum discussion forum? What does the mod think?

  11. I'll miss the golf course in the middle of Don Muang when I arrive on 7 October, and leave on 9th, and come back on 18th, and leave again on 12 November! Or will I? Even if I miss the one at Don Muang, have they laid one at the new one, which I can't spell or pronounce yet?

  12. I'm trying unsuccessfully to search for a map of the new rail extension(s). I can only find a pdf document of the planned full new network, presumably from the website of the main construction co. I also found a list of planned extensions, one of which is Prannok to Samut Prakan. I assume that could be the one I need a map of, although there is also one from Talingchan to new airport. The full map also shows an extension of the Sukhumvit line, but assume that is years away.

Can anyone show the appropriate link, either on Thaivisa or the web? Thanks.

  13. I wouldn't mind if CNN went away. Haven't heard any comments about BBCs coverage of this thing. I'm sure they would never sensationalize it

Think again - saw a BBC piece few min ago - about thailand and its sex trafficing scene. I expect this will go on for weeks until some other news story takes its place.

In what context? and on BBC in UK or BBC World? Reference would be useful, as it may still be available on BBC website. There may also be a World Service version available. I recall no false emphasis in reports on BBC News24, nor Sky news in fact, except references to alleged sex offences in Thailand.

  14. "I'll get my coat."

Eh? Coat? Well there's a waste in Thailand!

I know this is a strange way of quoting, but I have problems with setting up replies on Thaivisa. Even after i studied the instructions. I have no problem on any other discussion boards!

this could get like the 'rain' topic.

  15. I was pleased to find this thread some weeks ago, especially the info about the annual dinner in Wang Nam Yen. Is the main street photo of WNY? It looks a bit like it from memory. But I protest, as there is excitement in the town: a Karaoke bar!!! So I'm sure there must be more than one in the great metropolis of Sa Kaeo.

A few months ago I asked on the Thai language forum for a translation of WNY, and was told 'Cool Water Palace' hence my name. But what cool water palace and where, exactly? Intuition suggests the town may have had its origins in being near a fresh water spring or well.

By the way, there are posts about WNY (found by a search for WNY) which refer to a political faction of that name in the south, so what's the relationship between a name with that meaning and a political group? Any ideas?

Sad though that the dinner must wait, as I shall be in Thailand in June, first time for 14 months, and more by luck than planning to coincide with the jubilee. Perhaps in November? It would be my very first thanksgiving dinner.

Seriously though, I've seen some very pleasant parts, all in the space of 2-3 days: the park and lake, and the temple with the greedy and aggressive monkeys. One photo of a monkey and an interesting blue haze photo through the window of a bus attached.

  16. trying to open this link: http://www.terra.es/ results in:

    "Access Denied (policy_denied)

Your system was configured to deny access to this URL.Because this url was and improper/obscene website or your package is localnet

For assistance, contact your network support team."

    ...I can access this site...

So can I but I think being in London may make a difference :o

No sexciting links evident, oscars, a story about our very own royal family, etc etc. Maybe because I do not read Spanish.
