Once again, this is getting very confusing.
I have been doing income letter from US Embassy for 5 years. This year I will show 800K in my Thai bank account for the first time. Does the money now have to come from out of Thailand?
-
I see it now in the new order:
-
At least 2 months prior to filing date, and at least 3 months after being granted permission, the alien must have fund deposited in a bank in Thailand of no less that THB 800k.
Yes, the IO can do what they wish, but this^^ seem pretty concrete.
I do however appreciate your thoughts.

2 months for the 800K.
If you start monthly transfers of at least 65K pm now, they should let you apply based on income with proof of those transfers.
Or you could use the combo method and put 400K in the bank for 2 months prior to applying, and transfer at least 34K pm.
Okay, so first time using 800k in bank I have to season 2 months? Correct?
-
I should have said I have been using income declaration from the US Embassy, not income verification.
So, for my first time 800k in bank how long season?
-
I have been doing income verification for retirement extension past several years. I'll be 55 years old when my extension comes up in June. How long to season the 800k for first time use under new rules? Not sure I can get it in time for 3 months if that is the rule. If so, what are my options?

The window to make your online report is between 15 days and 7 days before the report is due. Your new reporting date will be 90 days from when your report has been approved. So it will not be the day of your report unless it was also approved on that date (which is usually not the case). You will most likely lose some days from your current 90 day period since it's likely that your new report will be approved before the actual due date. If you don't receive approval (you can check using the online reporting system to see if it approved) by the time your report is due you still have the opportunity to report in person at the immigration office up to seven days after the due date.
Excellent information. Thank you very much.

What is the window for online reporting and will it report on the day you do it (losing some days until you renew) or on the day it is actually due?

If under 20, I think she has to have letter of consent from parent or legal guardian

I'll assume at this point you have a “Retirement Extension” based on a visa of some sort, probably an “O”. You may or may not be able to purchase a “Re-Entry Permit TM 8” depending on your airport and or time of day. It is best to fill out the TM 8 and present it to your local immigration office prior to departure. Upon returning to Thailand you will fill out the “visa number” section of your arrival card (TM6 which you will get on the plane) with the “Re-entry Permit” number.
You can download a copy of the Re-Entry Permit here:

Get the re-entry or multiple re-entry if needed and you will be fine. Be aware you may be required to file a TM30 upon re-entry depending on you immigration office.

This link might be helpful, or at least somewhat interesting.

Oh boy, that's gonna be a tough one.
Leaving you out of the picture may/will fail during the interview process. The IO's are pretty smart, and they know what buttons to push. If they find out she lied on the application she will be black listed.
All you can do is give it a try. Cost you a few hundred bucks, but who knows. I would fill out the application as honestly as possible.
Panama is Visa free, and very nice, although hot as hell in the summer. Bermuda too.

Where are you living? It makes a difference.

I tried Cheers blue can lager......not so good. Cheers Riceberry.......good. I'm switching from Chang to Riceberry, so thanks for the posters who suggested that.
In case the Thai beer bashers come....I grew up in the PNW, home of a thousand craft beers. My Riceberry taste is based on what is available in Thailand for a reasonable price.

There is an interesting background story to Red Horse. It was originally brewed by San Mig in the Philippines to get the beer market back from low cost Gin suppliers, e,g Ginebra.
when first introduced, its alcohol strength was almost 10%, but over the years that was reduced to 8%. The Thai version was further reduced to 6%.
My first taste and smell of the original, left me feeling repugnant as one could literally taste and smell the strong alcohol. The 8% was a lot gentler on the palate, whilst the Thai 6% version is quite a pleasant beer, but I would only drink it at home due to its strength.
I first tasted Red Horse back in the late 80s in Yokosuka or Yokohama (can't remember which). It was NY eve, me and a few buddies rented a small hotel room, picked up a few boxes of RH and were planning on hitting the local clubs. Not sure what the alcohol % was back then, but I vaguely remember being carried back to our hotel room.

BigC here carries it, and I like it over Chang. I wish the store would keep better stock though, its hit or miss most of the time. I spoke with the store manager about stocking more, but he didn't seem interested.

Ever notice on many Thai TV shows how distorted the voices are because the “actors” are yelling much of the time? I would think the “sound guy” would fix it, but?????

My mom always sends birthday cards to my kids. A few years ago it took 18-21 days, then it was 30 days (if they arrived at all, but that's another discussion). The last card sent postmarked Nov 3/Tacoma Wa arrive Dec. 15
Last year I was getting Christmas cards in March postmarked Mid December.

Not a final answer, but found this dated DEC 17:
how do you tell a thai girlfriend i don't want her 18 year son living with us

I would encourage him to join the military, or offer to pay for university, which isn’t too expensive in Thailand.
As others have indicated, 18 isn’t necessarily the ‘get out of the house’ age, I think 21 or 22 should be considered. Beyond 22 you run the risk of creating a mamas boy, someone who rolls over at the slightest bit of confrontation, or authority, which can lead to long term problems.
