"he then praised the Thai Army..whose debt management program had succeeded in reducing debts. He waved to reporters closed the hatch of his submarine and steamed out of the car park on a bearing of 666 making 12 knots

We have 2 teenage kids and 5 dogs, She saves a bit as well , which I don't mind at all
5 dogs.... bet the neighbors love you !
the neighbors are her family mainly and I'm not talking 2 up 2 down houses. The dogs come and go as they please but come home at night to kip ouside

Its not rumours is it , they have admitted visiting his home. Does not matter what was said having people from the army turning up at your house to talk to you , would be intimidating in itself

I can feel a "Misunderstanding" coming on as Thailand smiles stoically in the face of Indonesias ignorance of Thainess

the problem is they do not appreciate good management and planning in any industry/profession in Asia. The expats run the work finish it and the locals think , we don't need them anymore , we can do the next one without them. I could point you to 3 massive projects in Asia that are now late , over budget and built like <deleted>

They see nothing but a fast buck from Tourism and do nothing to enhance a tourists experience , just get their money don't drop prices

I send the old woman and the family 60k baht a month the money is paid from HSBC in Malaysia it used to cost me 6000RM at 10b-1 , now its costing me 7000RM at 8,7b-1. I'm not working in Malaysia at the moment but I will be quite soon so the Malaysian bank account will be funded as I'll be paid in Ringgit. My question is , after all that, should I keep burning ringgit and paying her out of that account or I have 2 time deposits in BKK bank maturing in October, should I use that. I dont think things could hit much more of a low in Malaysia election is in 3 years , but now it appears old Najib is being sued so should I lose the Ringgit now or hold on. I also have 3 time deposits in Malaysia still at 3.5%. I doubt that will continue for the next year so again what to do ? To make matters more complicated I currently get paid in Sing dollars that eat little Bahts for breakfast

I do not agree with the Junta and how they came to power but that question made me think about my kids and the prospect of future conflict and upheavel . Whats best for them . No vote and freedom of speech or a country with both and in turmoil, not a great choice either way

You should always check out the hotel direct as the likes of Booking.com take twenty percent commission so most hotels are quite flexible if you tell them that's where you were going to book.
Ive used them for years and booked probably hundreds of hotel rooms with them. ive never known them to take commission they make their money from advertising , thats why the site is getting annoying. They always include the price plus Tax , so no 17% surprises on the bill. They mailed me and apologized about what happened. But in this case its the hotels fault confirming rooms that they have not got

Not quite so drastic as Russia but Chinas currency in in free fall its even down against the baht

1,200 baht for an extra bed!
Are they buying the [deleted] thing for you??
Yeah that's part of it isn't it , give you two double room instead of the Twin that they allowed me to book without actually having any and then stitch me up 1200Bs for an extra bed. Ive complained to a department of tats Unethical practice department, I think they are actually looking for ideas rather than complaints

I have no idea why they seem to be so obsessed with this. Obviously no sleeping dogs saying in Thailand
-
Low season, don't book in advance.
Better deal online, book it online from the hotel reception after viewing the room.
yeah true, I'm home for the weekend , and we were going to stay in Bangkok with the kids , movie and something to eat

Happened to me a couple of times in the last 2 weeks. The hotel advertises '2 Bedroom Family room" when you get there its 2 adjoining rooms which if booked as such is about 70% cheaper than The family room, that's in a reasonably new hotel in soi 11
Another one just past 21lhs, advertises Twin and double rooms for the same price I booked 1 Twin one double ,1 night no refund, however they contacted me and said they could not provide a twin room, but extra bed is 1200bt
Never used to be like that as far as my experience goes in Bangkok, seems they are trying to drain tourists of money through any means.
Not a hot topic I'll admit but I don't want the scheming ponces to catch others out
If you use someone like booking.com you can leave a review of your stay
Yes I have used them for years , I did review for last hotel ,we went to the hotel and checked in before we realized it was a scam , not sure if thats the right word. Tonight I booked 1 Twin and one double , so obviously I thought that was it, they took the dough, 1 night and then when I mailed them they said they may not have twin available, so in that case why did they allow to reserve one . I believe it was to charge me 1200 for extra bed, anyway I cancelled and lost my dough although Ive told my bank the money was taken under false pretences

Tragic accident , One thing I find with Thais , my wfe and family especially , they walk past something if its broken or not working properly with no attempt to fix it properly, get it fixed or throw it out. I got fed up with it as it was turning a nice house into a crack house and I wrote a list of things to replace/repair or throw out while I was away at work, ceiling fan, door lock and catch not working properly, dining chairs with rungs broken, Cable TV remote with non functioning on/off button for 2 years, she did it all but it was like pulling teeth
