Two women who go viral for their nude photos on a boat in Sattahip sea surrender to police
By Tanakorn PanyadeePHOTO: Khaosod
Sattahip — After going viral on Twitter reportedly with their nude photos on a boat in the Sattahip sea, two women caused outrage among locals and eventually surrendered to police. Many Thai netizens and people, especially those living in the Sattahip district of Chonburi, were angry with two Thai women who reportedly posted pornographic images of themselves on a fishing boat in the Sattahip sea and, according to the netizens, invited people to join them on a four-hour fishing trip for 3,000 baht. Those outraged said the pictures and posts hurt the family friendly image of Sattahip and Pattaya.
The women’s nude photos went viral on Twitter and eventually got Sattahip police’s attention.

He has nothing to be embarrassed about - He is a victim of crime and she is a criminal pure and simple. Must we now never have trust in anyone? Of course it is typical that the police are able to contact her but incapable of arresting her and any accomplices - I suppose if a farang had stolen an expensive motorcycle from a Thai citizen it would be a different story. A relationship without trust is no relationship at all - you really are a cynical bunch on here

So we thought the best treatment was to let him drive around p*ssed in a high end car that don't really belong to us .. Like the parents of the 13 yo who trashed the big bike in C M a few weeks ago the folk's of this zithead need some parenting guidance also ..
I sounds as if he took the car after the refusal by his father to pay the bill - nowhere does it say that he drove home from the bar. I very much doubt that the father said "take my keys and go for a drive to cool off!!" meaning that he took it without permission.
I think the problem with young thai men is that generally (from observation and limited experience) Thai fathers have little to do with bringing up their children because childcare is "women's work". If they play a role it is usually just to apply physical discipline and their are themselves ill equipped to deal with emotional development.
Growing up he probably was waited on by females in the family and given pretty much whatever he wanted - it is little wonder that he expects this to continue into adulthood if it is all he has known. Why take and damage the car - because to him it would likely be something more important than him to his father!
The father says he has mental issues - if that is the case what has the father done previously to try and get help for him?
Lots of questions I feel.

I agree with the original poster and I am living in the UK - at least this is the general direction it seems to be heading in if you look at who the clown (Johnson) has appointed to his cabinet. I am stuck here for health reasons but if I could get out before the brexit mess concludes I would.

Can he explain to me, in a manner that is logical, the purpose of 90 day reporting for people who have been here for YEARS, retired, married with families?
He already did by mentioning foreigners as tourists. High spending tourists are welcome but residents are quite a different matter. As a resident you know how to budget and where to buy things at fair prices - not at all what they are looking for. This is not a cynical comment rather statement of reality.

I guess in your estimation l am an old greezer. I am 71. Slim and fit. Regular health checkups define me as excellent. I bike 30km EVERY day.
I outworked the younger Thai workers building my home. I really don't think l am close to having a foot in the grave. Pretty sure l could keep up to you.
I think the OP meant that insurance companies treat us over 70's as having one foot in the grave. I am 73 and had hoped to spend a year or two in Thailand before I hit 80 - however with two long term medical conditions (Diabetes and Haemophillia) plus having had a triple by pass three years ago I am not rating my chances of getting insurance despite being in reasonably good health at the moment. If I required medical intervention for anything, other than a major accident, I would immediately fly back to the UK.
I would prefer a system that allowed me to deposit a significant sum of cash in a (safe) account which could be returned to me once they have verified I have not left unpaid bills behind me or from which my burial costs could be taken should I die whilst there (I have never seen the sense of flying anyone's dead carcass to their home country!)

I am concerned for all the people aged 65-70 or more who are going to find it difficult if not impossible to get insured. I agree the idea is sound but the government should either provide or commission a policy which accepts any age (and pre-existing conditions for additional premium)

The "man" in the picture looks like he might be a teenager - "teen pats another teen's bum" would have been a whole different headline. There is also a big difference between a light tap, a playful slap or a sexual touch but I doubt the father stopped to ask questions or maybe just tell the kid off. I sometimes think you lot belong in the dark ages when boys were hung for stealing bread!

If the are chinese and resident in Thailand then they would clearly be breaking the law by working as they would be contracting in Thailand. However if they were contracted in China and work normally in China then they are only visiting as part of the bridal party to take photographs. They are being contracted to take photos in Thailand but would be paid for and sell their work in China - no different say to a british newspaper photographer

No one can work on a tourist visa or retirement visa. And a work permit is required for most everything, including volunteer work.Wouldn't she/he should be able to apply for a visa as a temporary carer to a foreign visitor

It is time the world stood up to Saudi Arabia (and certain other countries) and show them that they must conform to world class human rights or face a complete ban on trade and a ban on their fights landing anywhere outside SA. Thailand needs to show that it has the balls to stand up to this bullying nation and find a way around the dilemma which does not involve her returning to SA or to Kuwait (which would do whatever Saudi says) The should reach an accommodation with Australia to allow here to claim asylum via the Austraian embassy or grant her asyum in Thailand. A Human life is worth more than a diplomatic embarrassment!

16 and 17 are hardly children.
Totally legal in Europe.
not correct - people of that age cannot participate in prostitution or providing other sexual services - however they could probably work as a hostess as long as that was the limit of their work. 16 is the age of consent but there are different rules where payment is involved

when I comment on trip advisor I use my own experience to give information that may help inform other travellers - I am not using it to praise the hotel for the owners benefit. I do not need to praise a hotel for good service since I consider "good service" to be a minimum standard for ANY hotel or guest house. Commenting on whether or not a hotel has parking is a very valuable piece of information and has nothing to do whether I had a car or not. Far too many hotels use "parking available" to mean a couple of spaces outside the hotel or a public car park several blocks away! I also might add comments if I thought a hotel was a good place for families (irrespective of whether I had a family with me) There are only two types of review in my opinion - honest ones or dishonest one.
As for the guy - well who hasnt tried to get something for nothing at some point in their lives - it is up to the business if they want to run with it. Personally I think it would be great if hotels with empty rooms at say Midnight - offered free or low cost rooms to the many homeless people on the streets in every city

If the rape was without a condom there should be DNA evidence to make certain the person caught is guilty. Even if the girl was going along with it at first it is still rape because of her age.

The driver is clearly pissed off by the tourists tailgating him and driving dangerously close - as I would have been. We spend a lot of time blaming Thai poor driving but this is a case of reckless motorcyclists getting exactly what they deserved

"are sustained by corrupt law enforcement officials. "
Changing laws about prostitution, or anything else, is pointless unless you first fix the corruption. Everything else is a waste of time and effort!

@BestB "Silly question , why was he alone in the room with 5 women? Where were all his cousins ? Hiding in 7-11 to avoid paying?"
Where was the suggestion he was alone with them - the report refers to his friends witnessing the incident.
I must admit that I would feel intimidated by a group of 5 women advancing on me in a hotel room - but then I am gay!

For goodness sake why don't they just let it go. As others have said I don't think there is a cat in hell's chance that they would extradite anyone to Thailand whilst it is under military rule and doubtful that they would do it if democracy was restored. If Thailand reciprocate by refusing to extradite serious criminals such as murderers and child molesters then most of the public here would say good riddance to them - let Thailand enjoy the pleasure of their company.
They had their "victory" by securing the conviction so why do they want the extra expense of keeping her in jail for 5 years. In my view the purpose of Jailing people should only ever be to protect the public and I somehow don't think that Yingluck is going to run amock with an AK47 anytime soon. She was no more corrupt than any other of the politicians. Her being in exile is far better than serving her up as a martyr to the many people who would still support her and her brother.

I doubt if he was found guilty of a sexual assault on the first occasion - more likely he was fined for ordering the girl to clean a room or for locking the door on her which might in itself be a breach of school rules. I am not claiming that he is innocent but merely that the fine suggests that only a minor infringment or rules was proved at the time

In almost any county the schools investigation would be entirely seperate from any police investigation - we are simply not told whether or not the police are investigating and/or gathering evidence. Crimes like this reported months/years later are often difficult due to lack of any physical evidence - however the trials of recent dates in many countries are proving that it is possible. Do we know for example if any complaints have been made to the police as yet? Too many unknowns here to speculate much. I know this will not be popular but I feel it is equally (not less or more) important to protect people who might be wrongly accused of such crimes - at least until there is some definite evidence. Once a person is investigated publicly for a sexual crime they will live with that suspicion for the rest of their lives even if completely exonerated during the investigation. It must be the most difficult crime to investigate and one requiring tact and great skill.

I cannot really see what was wrong for an experienced caver to say of the submarine "It just has absolutely no chance of working," CNN quoted Unsworth as saying about the submarine. - that is not in anyway insulting to Musk - the response however is another thing - there is a knock on effect of the use of that term and it should never be applied casually as Musk appears to have done.

It is for the business to determine what age they consider a child to become adult. People under 18 are to varying degrees treated as "children" - for example they cant get credit cards in most countries. Though my children are now fully grown I would have expected the discount to apply to a 15 year old unless it stated otherwise because at that age they are not working and have no other income to support them. If the sign said children under 12 then that would be fine but if it just said children then I considered them children as long as they were still at school

Having travelled a lot in my life, always with comprehensive travel insurance, I am appalled by the thought that having a few drinks on holiday could invalidate your claim. It makes you question whether all those policies were worth the paper they were printed on. I hope they end up doing the decent thing and give this poor man the help and support he now needs.
