Well what I usually do is go to the supermarket and buy some food. Then come home, unpack it and put it in the cupboards and fridge. Then, when I am hungry, I take out the ingredients I need and cook my meal. Then I eat it. Afterwards I wash my plates and cutlery and clean up any mess.

Ok you could have just said i have an apartment with a full kitchen. Most of the apartment i have seen do not have a functioning kitchen.

What exactly can you not do in Thailand that you can in Cambodia, Philipines etc. What freedom have you lost?

Thailand just doesn't feel free. There are cctv's everywhere, cops of every type. You can't even skinny dip in Ao nang. Thailand is too high tech, too many rules, too authoritarian, too nationalist, if you give someone the finger you could be in trouble. Farangs are always wrong here, in Nepal we are always right!

  3. I'm look at Thantakit International Dental Center they have all these 5 star reviews on Google but they are by people with only 1 review!

    Look suspicious.

    Sillom dental?

The dental hospitals have long dates for appointments.... I'm thinking Siraj is walking distance.  Ive heard people have broken molars in their mouth for a long time without problem but i have also heard it can get infected...?

  4. I was just in Nepal. Lots of respect, friendly people. Cheap too.

Thai's are in a bad mood these days because of the weather, lol, they should try a winter!

I agree though Thailand is finished for me, seem boring, no freedom. In Nepal you can do what you want people will tolerate you mostly.

Thai's are sick of globalization and drunks walking all over their beautiful country. Cambodia, Philippines, Myanmar, Indonesia...lots of new place to try.

  5. People with mold and sinus infection know it. Believe me you know it because it starts with pain and allergy symptoms, you are really stuffed up, headache your nose closes. In my case and other people we just ignore it and suffer through it and what happens is that the mold get stuck in your sinuses further because your sinuses close up all the time and do not clear. So even when you are out of the house it take weeks or months to recover because the mold is actually growing in your sinuses.

The brain fog is the same as when you have cold, when the pressure and symptoms are relieved then you will return to normal. People have chronic allergies their whole lives from other substances.

I am sorry but your water theory just doesn't work. Mold spores come from fungus, it flowers and produces mold that floats in the air. The fungus or mold needs, water or moisture, AIR and spores then it will grow. It does not grow in water it is dead. You can try an experiment by putting your moldy water on clean plate and let it sit for a few days.... no mold i am sure.

If you are having a problem in your bathroom it is no doubt caused from tile failure and the mold is growing under neath the tiles.

If you have mold in your house you will smell it, it is musty odor noticeable in the evening and morning. Your sinuses will be in pain. It is usually caused by mold under the tiles.  I suggest you move but most houses in Thailand older than 10 years have mold. Also septic under the houses is a guarantee for toxic mold, things are decomposing and rotten so the spores float around the entire house.

@don chance Do I need to quote that link for you?

    * Stachybotrys chartum growing on a leaking water pipe. Identified by several labs. Similar samples have been taken at public restrooms throughout the area.

    * The spores go airborne in the shower. The sinuses, throat, bronchii and lungs provide an excellent growth medium.

    * Long term exposure can cause permanent damage inclusive of chronic sinus conditions.

    For @don Chance edification:

      Reveal hidden contents

    • coughing
    • wheezing
    • a stuffy nose
    • a runny nose
    • red eyes
    • itchy skin or eyes
    • a sore or itchy throat
    • nosebleeds

Black mold exposure can also potentially worsen the symptoms of other respiratory conditions. For example, a person with asthma or a respiratory allergy may find that their symptoms worsen or they experience new symptoms, such as:

    • persistent coughing
    • headaches
    • frequent chest colds
    • difficulty breathing
    • allergic reactions
    • inflammation of the sinuses
    • general fatigue and lethargy

In rare cases, long-term exposure to high levels of these toxins may lead to more severe symptoms, including:

    • memory loss
    • trouble concentrating
    • sensitivity to light
    • anxiety
    • nerve issues, such as numbness in the hands and feet
    • general pain and cramps
    • unexplained weight gain
    • anxiety

Your link does not say that. I've talked to many doctors about it and they all say mold is not dangerous.

    It says,

" These molds are not dangerous in themselves, but they can release harmful toxins into the surrounding environment. Inhaling these toxins may lead to certain health effects and symptoms. People with lung disease or weakened immune systems tend to have a higher risk of experiencing these effects. "

"However, there are many exaggerated claims of the dangers of black mold on the internet.

In otherwise healthy people, short-term exposure to mycotoxins is unlikely to cause harm. It generally takes time and consistent exposure to black mold for symptoms to develop."

Have you actually experienced allergy symptoms?  A small amount of mold in your bathroom just needs to be wiped away with regular cleaning solution.  Mold is just inhaled then released. There is tons of mold in the environment or many different types. We even eat moldy blue cheese!

Mold is either on something, behind something, or in something. If it is behind the tiles you will smell it. If is in something like wood it needs to be replaced. If it is one something just clean up.

My Thai friend just googled her in Thai. Sorry, it seems like her services can only be obtained at this time through office hours at BNH and at Mahidol University Hospital.

And I'm guessing that you may only be looking for a simple extraction, so maybe just follow Sheryl's advice and check with more affordable hospitals. Bangkok Christian Hospital, for example.

It seems Thankin has an oral surgeon on staff.  I think hospitals have a lot of germs floating around possibly anti-biotic resistant.

Targeting problematic molds is the purpose. Yes, molds are everywhere. However, the black mold mentioned in the OP is problematic. The organism creates a powerful neurotoxin. Of course, you target the infection at it's source if at all possible. Kill off the visible mold within the home and go after the source.

    Simple epidemiology.

How about you read, the OP and the attached link. Learn about Stachybotrys chartum.

I spent 4 years on or in charge of infection control at a hospital. And your experience is:

The source of the mold is air which grows with dampness and humidity. You can only eliminate the mold if you eliminate the moisture which i explained maybe impossible to do if it is underneath the tiles.

Mold is not dangerous, it causes allergy problems, all those symptoms will go away once you are away from the mold. People live in moldy condition all over the world including Thailand and have no problems because they are not allergic.

I know i am allergic to mold and have been sick with it a few times.

  9. Sorry but your theory is nonsense.

Mold spores are everywhere, they float in the air not only in the water. They grow well in tropical countries because of hot wet condition.

The major problem with mold is with the construction of buildings. Subfloors are not sealed properly or have proper underlayment. As mention in the bathroom the water penetrates through the tiles and mold forms under the tiles between the subfloor. Hint: don't get your floor wet.

The subfloor will absorb water from ledges that continue to the exterior, past the wall, sometimes to a balcony which is again not sealed properly. The water leaches to the interior subfloor and again mold will form under the tiles.

To make the problem much worse just put a septic tank under your building or slab foundation that is damp all the time.  The mold spores from the septic will much more irritating.

Unfortunately there is no solution for mold under the floors except taking the tiles up and cleaning the mold, then put something like carpet or vinyl roll that can be easily removed in the future and cleaned. In the dry season the mold may die off.

Well, if you want the best in Thailand, get an appointment with Dr. Boonjira Anukul at BNH Hospital on Soi Convent. She also has her own clinic elsewhere, and she teaches (or taught) at Chulalongkorn. She saved me from having to get my jaw wired shut.

But if it's a simple extraction (and not two molars stuck in the bone like mine), there are other good surgeons at BNH.

Where is her clinic? I can't find it on google.

  11. The whole 'medical cannabis" thing was always about decriminalizing.

The right demonized the drugs so the left had to combat the reefer madness with something. So they did studies proving that cannabis was efficacious for some medical conditions. Then they could force the government to allow it for medical purposes. Most government have a mandate to provide medicines to their people.

That's how it went in Canada, they sued the government in court for not allowing cannabis to be sold and criminalizing sick people. The courts made the government change.

Thailand is now doing the same things. Someone in the higher up wants weed to be legalized. It sure isn't the military regime.

The down side of all the medical weed is that people actually think it is a cure all medicine. Anxiety and insomnia are symptoms of addiction. So addicts can claim they need cannabis for those conditions. Anyone who really had those conditions would not want to take cannabis, it would just make it worse.

It is good that addicts are not being criminalized but legalizing should not be legitimizing. If you smoke every day you are an addict and you will experience the many side effects of the drugs, whether or not you realize it or not.

Memory lose, confusion, paranoia, de-socialization. It is not hard to observe cannabis users experiencing these symptoms. You don't want to smoke marijuana every day that is for sure. It is not an answer to life.

Are you living in Nepal ? I've considered moving there.

    thanks, ~o:37;

It's changed now too much. Pokhara.

It's easy to find apartments with kitchen living room, 1-2  bedroom for 300-400 a month.

Visa you renew your visa easy enough up to 5 months a year. Not sure maybe you can get a biz visa after that.

A lot of pollution from October to May (not as bad as N. Thailand thou.) Then rainy season, now is nice actually, air is clean, a bit hot in the day, then it clear up after a thunderstorm clear view of the mountains, cools down at night.

Cook for your self is cheap. Nepalis are friendly and speak english more fun than Thailand.

Lot of garbage around, Nepalis spit and litter a lot.

Quality is low, you probably won't like it long term. It's a poor country. Give it try and it is a nice change for SE asia.

  13. Vinyl rolls is ideal. That way you can lift it up and clean the mold that will grow underneath.

Another good option is epoxy right on to the subfloor, no moisture can penetrate.

With tiles or laminate you need to seal the sub floor and still use 1" bubble underpayment if you want to avoid mold. Even then Thai builds can let so much water into the subfloors because of poor building practices.

You may actually gain some knowledge before sprouting uniformed rubbish

Try this for your first lesson before gradating to some actual science.

    https://www.wikileaf.com/thestash/recreational-medical-cannabis/

Actual science from a pot propaganda page. Ya so weed is helpful to some  people for a few conditions; it is no wonder drug, it is not cure, it alleviates some symptoms that is all.

Sure if you are addicted to any drug you might think it is magical medicine. The Irish think Guinness Beer is health. Indians in south America claim coca leaves are healthy. Opium was thought to cure various things, in the 60's and 70's people thought cocaine was harmless etc.

Weed is no wonder drug, it has lots of side effects. While it is good that people are not criminalized as much anymore. Healthy people should not think it is a beneficial drug to use, especially every day.

If you smoke weed everyday you are addicted and soon you will have many of the side effect listed above. Confusion, memory lose, paranoia, is it really worth it? Sure if you have cancer or MS it might be helpful, but get real man, it's a drug that gets you high, that is all.

People who think pot relaxes them or helps them sleep are addicts. They need pot to relax or sleep. Addict in denial.
