There are no rumours as far as I am aware, but with the PS4, Thailand got it officially 2 months after North America, which was a month before Japan got it! Seeing as there have been the COVID-19 related manufacturing issues, it is likely the PS5 release will be delayed for small markets like Thailand. If you are in a rush, you can always get it at Play-Asia and pay a considerable premium.

As long as it's 20-30 high end tourists who are staying in 100,000 baht a night rooms. That made me pause as well, but I reckon the 20-30 refers to confirmed cases, related to the daily capacity of hospitals for new patients, not the number of daily tourist arrivals allowed.

Yesterday had to drive about 250 km, for the most part in heavy rain.
Nobody slowed down even a little bit, many without lights.
Overtaking like crazy, nobody ever kept a safe distance...
Is this a civilized country ?
I have the exact opposite experience around Chiang Mai. Whenever there is a reasonable amount of rain people start slowing down and are hesitant to overtake, very sensible driving. They often don't turn on their lights though, even if it gets really dark during a thunderstorm.

You should be able to get a verified copy for a Thai passport for around 200 baht at the place where they issue passports, provided it is a valid passport. I got one a few years back for my wife, to open a shared foreign bank account in the name of my wife and that was accepted by the (Dutch) bank. If it needs to be a verified copy of a ID card I think you need to go to a attorney.

What has your wife or spouse got to do with a retirement visa? If she says no. Is that a ground to refuse a visa? I doubt it. If that were the case there would be a lot more divorces. It's nonsensical. Thailand, the home of nonsensical, stupid, racist, sexist rules.

Wow, having fun living here, are we? The reason for extension based on marriage is that you support your Thai spouse, that is no longer a requirement for extension based on retirement. So at least it seems to be common sense, if not the decent thing to do, for immigration to make sure that the spouse is aware that officially you are no longer supporting him/her. Yes, I think that without my wife signing an agreement, I would have been refused my first extension based on retirement.
So this 'rule' (I don't think it is an official requirement, just what I experienced), is not exactly non-sensical, nor stupid. I don't know about sexist or racist, or at least not more than anywhere else.

You also have to bring your wife, as (depending on where you live) she may be asked to sign a form that she is aware and agrees with you changing to an extension based on retirement. For subsequent retirement extensions that is no longer required, just the first time.

Thailand’s monster flood visible from space

Thank you for at least entertaining the possibility that the Dutch are smart. The danger of floods in the Netherlands is generally not related to the local rainfall, most of the flooding is caused by the country essentially being an estuary, that receives water from upstream countries. Afterall, it is only a very small country. Thailand is more or less a single river basin congregating most rainfall into the Chao Praya. Average rainfall in Thailand and the period in which it falls is more of a factor affecting flood in Thailand than it is in the Netherlands. Still the system pictured would work in Thailand from a technnical point of view, just a matter of scaling it up. The lack of compliance with regulations and pervasive corruption in Thailand would work against it.
