So..., does one simply go to the window at MRT to get an 'elder card' ticket ?
Go to a ticket counter to buy your ticket and ask for a senior ticket. I wave my driving licence around but they do not look at it.

Remember Saddam's WMD's ?
Jeremy Corbyn is right not to rush to judgement
Not sure of the comparison. The WMD's did not exist, or at least were never found. Are you suggesting that the guy did not die from a nerve gas? Perhaps indigestion or a bad cold????

I’m British and I’ve always wondered why 99% of drivers in America park nose first.
In fact, I’ve seen signs in car parks in the U.S. which say No Reverse Parking.
Strange!
The only place I have seen the "no reverse parking" was a hotel, where they wanted to avoid exhaust marks on the hotel wall.

It used to be a common process, not requirement, in Europe, decades ago.

Usually use a UK credit card, and they mainly want PIN and signature. However accidentally used an SCB debit card in Big C recently for around THB 1,000 and no PIN/signature required. Thought it was strange at the time.

so you stay 179 days .. and go out and back in.
Aggregating; i.e. Totalling 180 days or more. Leaving the country at 179 and returning had no relevance.

Certainly my visa/extension clearly states non-immigrant, and I am required to jump through several hoops each year, mainly financial, which means I am here on a year to year basis at the Thai government's pleasure. I do not know if that makes me an ex-pat, but it certainly does not make me an immigrant.

This is just pig ignorant in any country, and not just Thailand; it is just that it would never occur to them to do it in their own country. It is also irrelevant what Thais may or may not do; there is no linkage whatsoever.
Also, how are the couple going to sue the poster. From the photographs shown, they are not identifiable, unless you are going to identify them by their big toe.

My 3BB connection at present does not have IPv6. But it did say this.
Your DNS server (possibly run by your ISP) appears to have IPv6 Internet access.
Exchanged emails with 3BB yesterday. They are currently testing IPv6 and have plans to "roll it out soon".

Thanks UbonJoe
We finally did our extension last week, having just returned to Thailand / Phuket in time. It was a bit busy at the queue for the address registration, although even then only took perhaps 15 minutes. At the room where we had to go for the retirement extension, an officer standing outside checked our paperwork (British with letter from the embassy to verify income) and German (with letter from a Thai Bank to confirm the THB 800,000) and gave us a number (only 2 in front of us). Quickly went in, another officer went through all the paperwork in detail, stamped our passports and took our money. Someone else took our photographs and gave us a receipt. Next day we went back to collect our passports (in and out in 2 minutes). All very painless. Thanks for everyone's input.
We also went back a day or two later and got our multi re-entry stamp. Really friendly officer. Whole process took 10-15 minutes.
We have found that a good time to go is about 12:45, while it is closed for lunch. There are perhaps 10 people waiting for address registration/90 day reports/re-entry stamps etc. By 13:00 when the doors open, the queue is quite long again, but we are near the front. For example, we were the first to go to the re-entry stamp desk.
Thanks for everyone's input.

Are you you need an extension? If you are still on your original visa issued outside of Thailand, you should be able to get a multiple re-entry stamp giving you the best part of another year.
Last year we got all the paperwork together that we thought we needed for an extension, trotted along to immigration and were told we did not need it; just the re-entry certificate.

Can anyone tell me what the "DTAC Number Alert Service" is? Just noticed it as an option in the settings for my prepaid DTAC phone.
Thanks

Having a valid visa issued by a Thai consulate and then being rejected by Thai immigration sums up the madness
Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa ConnectMost countries advise that a visa issued by one of their consulates does not guarantee entry into a country. It is always at the discretion of the immigration officer at the point of entry. It is not just a Thai thing.

This had always been the rule; it was just not implemented. It was also clearly stayed on the paperwork we received from shops in Phuket 5 years ago .

The checklist above is correct. I successfully extended my retirement Visa this AM. The only thing missing in the list was a waiver form that the Immigration guy handed me on arrival. He told me not to bother copying it because it will be different next year. I think I recall them saying the same thing last year. LOL.
Yes, still the same process that asks you to bring a photo and then takes a picture of you.
Thanks for the confirmation Archan. What is the waiver form for?

Does anyone know where online reservations can be made for the new NewGen Airways route between Phuket and Nakhon Ratchasima?
