Guess we'll find out later who is correct. I hope it's not the hard way.

This headline is the opposite of what should be done as usual, because too many Thai people do not understand, or want to understand, the consequences of the sugar they consume.

Another new hub. The pandemic hub.

Thank you Mr. minister, you have added your two cents to the unwelcome feeling many now have while visiting or living in this country. Makes my skin crawl.

He added that the number of Chinese arrivals to Thailand is 800,000 on average per month.
He won't have many tourists coming from anywhere when they hear how many people, in Thailand, have comes down with this virus. But don't worry the gov't has it all under control.

Thank you. I know as much now as before I read this article.
The last paragraph quoted, could have come after the headline...

The "I don't want to be here feeling" is getting stronger then that "unwanted feeling".

If you have a Thai driving licence or a pink card, check in with one of those. Then you won't cross Immis' radar.
Yes I tried that in Bang Saray with drivers license. The small hotel demanded that I present my passport or they would not allow me to register....but in the past just the dl has worked for me...the squeeze is on.

Mr Worawut said, adding that it can often take the best part of four to five hours to complete the same journey by car.
Think that might be a bit of an exaggeration.

and this eliminates the need to show deposits into Thailand?
I hope so. If you have an income letter from your embassy it is my understanding that this is one of the routes for acquiring a retirement extension.
It states that I receive a monthly pension income of xxxx (notarized) with supporting document...which is more then 65000 baht per month.

Yes, a couple of weeks ago, I took my tax return and copies of t4's and 5's etc for proof.

The above statement is astounding.
And with regard to my circumstances: after these ridiculous regulations, I am not the least bit interested in having funds in a Thai bank which I can never use. I have done it for years but no more.

I agree that Thailand should welcome retirees! But they don't.
They let us stay here if we jump through their hoops with hordes of visits to immigration, paperwork, copies....bs when having to acquire address letters for licenses etc. Reports when we stay away from home for one night! It doesn't matter whether we live on 50,000 baht a month in this country or 150,000. There are some stupid hoops we all have to jump through to stay. It's principle in my opinion and I don't think they want us or like us much.

No pride in anything they do.
