  1. Today my friend went to the bank for paper of financial requirements. 800 000 bath. He is worried that the officer will not accept his document because he go to early (4 days) to the bank. He will show up on tuesday. We cant find the rules for that?

Tuesday 13 date. 6.00. He will go to IO. Does he get a ticket at that time? And what time do the process start?

  2. This is the worse IO in Thailand and during my ten years here I havent seen anything that have been changed for the better. Too bad but that is the fact. So I am skeptical even when the built the new house, it is to small compere to the big touristarea. Why? Maybe Bangkok administration dont give them enough money.....they dont like the north? Or maybe the office are korrupt. I really dont know. But I know that is not normal service you give to people. It is terrible.

Also, If they were interested in doing a good service job, they should open 8.00 and close 21.00. And skip the lunch hour. But of course they need more people. Well, I hope still I can give my neighbur 500 bath for sit in the queue. Dont tell me they stop that?

  3. I never have problems about the police in Chiangmai.

But I only meet them in the traffic in Chiangmai. They are very friendly. They want to talk with me about everything.

Once I have too pay 200 bath because I dont secure the belt on me - in the car. Thats OK. In Sweden it would have cost me 5000 bath.

I stay her for about 5 years in CNX. And got check ups about 20 times by the police.

I always hope they check me so I can practice my thai.

  4. I am from Sweden. We have to learn at least two language during our time in school. Language is the Key for knowing other ways of living. Other cultures.

Today I feel happy every day. Because I know more and more about this country and "khon Thai". I started 5 years ago and I dont speak good.

Dont go to school. They learn to fast. But importent you listen to the tones. My advice will be:

     - Use free lessons on Internet

    -  Or even better use smartphone and find apps "thai learn" (you will find 20 free apps) than you always have your lessons in your pocket...

    -  One good on Youtube is  "Kruu Wee teach thai"

    -  Books is importent and in the beginning you have to learn transcription. Buy the book (have CD or use smartphone) from  Benjawan Poomasaan. They are good.

It is very easy to learn this language - most difficult is when you passed 60 years old - memory short - and of course the tones

Good Luck and welcome to a new world

  5. Correct - I change the reason for stay. My extension of stay expire 24/12. A lot of tourist at those days so if I apply for that change now - I also change from december to october for my annual extension of stay?

I dont want to move that amount of money,to a Bank here. Is it ok if I can show my month incom > 65 000 bath?

Somebody says that I have to show document about I havent done crime? Or maybe in the TM7 form I can read myself what require.

I appreciate your answer ubonjoe? Thanks.

  6. I have a married visa  O and want to change to a retired visa O. What paper do I have to complete with?

Can I start to do this 30 days before I do my extansion ?

And is there some importent things I have to think about.

My reason, it is more easy and then I dont have to go to Airport Chiangmai. I like Promenada better.

/I try to find threads - but didnt

  7. Thanks for your answers. I try to understand  why Immigration make  this TM30 so very activ at this moment? Terrorist. Bad guys out? Immigration want to make money? The Internet makes everything more easy to control? The Europe-syndrome/ make more laws that makes it more difficult for people to live good

I dont know - only speculations.

I am thinking. Everytime I arrive back to Thailand, I have to have a plan for the TM30 activity. Or pay the fine next time att Immigration Office.

Everybody beeing  in my situation, not only me, have to have a plan for the TM30 activity. How to do? - How can Immigration system, help us, take care of the TM30? So far their Internet system break down mostly  everyday.

Or can we hope that they only fine us the first time? Or can we hope that this going to stop because they dont really know what they are doing.

I ty to find out a practical way. How to do?  Because I want to live by the book.

When I arrive back from Laos 16.00 pm friday at Suvernaphum. i will  try do the the TM30report. But where? I have 24 hours to go. I live in Chiangmai. i was hoping to stay a couples of days in BKK.

     Help me please?

  8. OK I am back from Promenada and as usuelly they give me good and fast service. 20 minutes and finish. But of course  singel re-enter is a peace of cake.

They also give me some formular to fill in about where I live and so on. It was no problem. I give them my  wifes number in case of emergercy.

Bye the way - fine or fee - Its my english that made me slip a little bit. Now I know. Thanks.

I will not, send my wife to the Airport immigration.  No, no. After I return from Laos I will do the TM30 report. So, mayby they wont fine my wife?

  9. I am going to Promenada today. I have O visa spouse.  I arrived from Sweden 19 september. Live in Hang Dong. I am going to Laos very soon and therefore I have to buy a singel re-entry.

I am a bit confused about TM30. My wife and me stayed at the same adress for many many years. She never reported anything about that TM30.

Do you think that today I will not have my singel re-entry because we first have to do the TM30 and pay fee 1600 bath?

  10. I arrived from Sweden 3 weeks ago. I wrote my name on arrival card. Have spouse O-visa. I have Yellow book and last week a nice officer at my Amphur Hang Dong give me the pink ID.  We live in our house since four years ago.

As I understand. Now - my wife have to report me - as staying at the home adress on TM 30?

The next time I have  errands at CM Immigration, they will fee me 1600 bath?

  11. I also have house in  Moo Baan (Hang Dong district) and resided here.

One week ago I got a letter from this office 'offering' me some ID card but not really Thai ID (as my wife explained).

I thought. I have anything too lose so yesterday I went for it.

So I gave them my thumb prints, they took photo and I gave them my blodtype. I got som ID number probebly the same as YTB.

A got to know the officers as he before told me he stayed in Sweden for one month.  He seems a nice man and he told me he wanted the help farang that stay in Hangdong more easy. Anyway -I tested the card, yesterday, at the bank and I see she took the card and show some people it .......and...I dont have to show my passport. I dont want to carry passport only a copy when I walk around in Chiangmai.1-0 (benefit).

I like this tread - so let me know more how we can use this ID-YTB card for more benefits.

  12. I buy my Chromebook Samsung (2500 kr - 350 dollar) last year in Sweden. Easy to open and start. That I like and that was my first reason why I wantet to test CB. Now I learn how to print when I am in Sweden. I will buy printer when Iĺl back in Chiangmai.

Banking buisness - very easy and never had any virusproblem. My Dell computer always talk to me about virus shit. I hated that..

So compered to a computer this is big different. In Sweden everyone use Microsoft system so you forced to have a computer when you work or want to work at home.

But as I stop working I am not depending om the Office teknik.

Compered to the tablett (have a Nexus 7 for book and for reserv if something happen to my CB) the best is that you can easyli write. Fast.

    .

I tell you. This machine Chromebook makes life easy.

  13. I pay around 15000 baht for a BUPA insurance. It cover most things, like accidents , several types of diseases , but not cancer .

If I would get unlucky some day and get a really serious illness that insurance does not cover I can still get back to my home country for free health care (Norway).

I have the same thoughts. If I get sick (afraid big operation - heart and cancer) I will go back to Sweden. Before I paid about 57 % taxes in Sweden. So I dont feel bad about going back to Sweden and use my rights (free care).

But I have one insurence. Accident. Because of the traffic. I only pay 10 000 bath/year.

    In three years nothing happen.

I also save, in the bank, about 700 dollars every month. In case something bad happen....... for me or my family...we only use goverment hospital. And as far my experience are. They are good.

  14. Well I want to change extension to stay based on married to retired because I dont want to go back one more time (30 days after) to IO.

If I knew this trouble about spouse visa I wouldnt apply for in teh first time (2 years ago). I am over 50. I wont work. I have pension over 100.000 bath/month.

Next year I will change this to retirment. And save time. And save papperwork. Tell me. Do I think wrong?

  15. I don't like most instants and definitely want to control my own sugar level so I use the Vietnamese pot for single servings of "real" coffee and love it.

After my return from Vietnam I startet to make my own coffe. The same as you do.

Very Very tasty. Easy when you by your self.

    I have one question csabo?

My Vietnam coffe is empty now. Does anyone knows som coffeshop (Chiangmai) to buy coffe? In that case - what kind of coffe do you recommend?

  16. I personally would never use a visa service. Why pay money to somebody when you can easily do it yourself.

As soon as these service like most monopolies have the market cornered the prices will climb. You can do your 90 day by mail and play their silly game for one day of the year. The only problem here in Chiang Mai is the passports must go to the airport office for some official's "official" signature you may have to return the next morning. Where I live that is a hassle.

What are you saying? About Chiangmai. I send my 90 day by mail yesterday . Do you mean that I still have to go to the office? For an official signature? I thought they send back the small piece of paper only. And then finish.

  17. I have Dell laptop, Nexus 7, Samsung smartphone 6 and my latest love thing from Sweden. A Chrome book Samsung. I really could not fix my life in Thailand without any of them. Why? First. If someone, of them, get sick. I STILL have 3 "friends" that can help me.

Nexus 7. and my Samsung 6. I am using them for borrow E-books (free) from library in Sweden. Read newspaper. Look Sweden TV and movies (HBO, Netflix) Sitting in my sofa. Casting with chromecast to big TV. Working very good.

Chroomebook Samsung - easy to use as everything above - VERY fast to start up - and here you have a very good keyboard. If I want to go to Thaivisa and tell about my thoughts. I use this Chroomebook. Before I had a galaxy samsung 10 - It was Ok but the keeboard was not as good as this on the CB - and some times no energi in the keeboard because empty battery

My Dell laptop is very fast - But take too long time to start up!! I use only for my banking buisness. Chromebook dont work with our system in Sweden. A question of security. But always some shit happen in this machine. About virus and other shit. So I think I will not buy a new laptop if I can do my banking in the future, with the chromebook. As a matter of fact I have never had any problem with Smartphone Chromebook. and tablet N7. But my laptop. Always. Always.Problem. I have to clean, the machine many times

I also want to mention that I like google products very much. Before microsoft. As I work more easy with them. But as everybody knows it is a matter of taste. And at the end when we/you choose the devises or computers. You have to like them with combination what you are going to use them for.

  18. I love my Chiangmai very much. I like the dry and cold weather here. And every week something exciting happen. If you like music, dancing, theater, movies, boxing. Or why not soccer. The only thing I miss is my ice-hockey. Because I am from Sweden. But, as I am born a city boy. I like the big city and every thing that comes with it.

Last evening I went down town, First time listen to the Blues music. They were playing at the Night market....and that was free. Anyway, everyting is not perfect.

    1. It seems like the service from immigration never will be good. This is not good here. But I try to deal with it as best as I can

    2. Yes, the pollution is bad. When they start burning. Mars-april can be very bad. My wife and me use to take of then...to HH or Koh Chang.

    3. Well the traffic...it is a big city......and when tourist go home it is ok (especially China)...

  19. haha...I lived 50 m close to that activity..(Moban Sanasran/Nongkwai) so I ...want sympatize with you...I thought world war III had started....we had to move som glasses from the table....because the started to move themselves..haha........the volume on the base was huge....

...the solution for me, living 50 m close, was 3 beer Chang and my wireless "Beats bydr.dre" headphones......didnt hear anything only fell alsleep

and now happy again living in the best of all worlds..
