  1. Not sure why you think you cannot enter Cambodia at a border crossing. You get a 30 day visa exempt entry by land or air. See: https://www.evisa.gov.kh/Visa_Exemption_Popup.aspx

For Thailand you would get a 15 day visa exempt entry by land or 30 days by air without a visa.

Your tourist visa for Thailand is also free due to a bilateral agreement.

Sorry for my unclear question. I know I can get visa exempt but I want a 60days visa. I had 2 in my passport back to back from Laos so I am thinking if I can do it in Cambodia. i am going to Cambodia for 2-3weeks before coming back back to Thailand again so does that help in getting a Setv to come back?

  2. He goes to prison, gets out in a few years to do it again?

I doubt thats actually going to be true.

Either taken care of in prison or taken care of when he gets out

You might be New in Thailand.

If you notice previous News on raping cases most criminals are repeat offender.

But now with the Pressure of Social media I think he'll be sentence to death like the previous Train rape case

  3. I am working as a teacher now in Thailand, saving up 2 million Baht is not easy I think. I earn a standard teachers wage here, and I am not married can't make a business in my girlfriends name as technically shes still married.

But is it possible for her to set one up with me as partner? or do we have to be married? And how much would that cost?

That will be the last thing i'll do if i were you. Save the 2 million Baht and continue working until you retire. 2 Million Baht as start up capital is not enough enough in Thailand. If your business fail she'll blame you and when it start making money she'll do what to can to kick you out of the company. I'm not saying that it will always end up that way, but how many actually make it. Less than 10% i suppose

  4. that really depends on what you need in your life. I don't have 3 million but probably it'll last me 5 years. you'll end up with about 50K / Month but that doesn't includes the Visa that you need to obtain and other unforeseen issue such as accident and sickness. (That's for bangkok)

If i really had that money will Move out of Bangkok and go to some cheaper places in Thailand such as Issan or Chiang Mai.

  5. Well thanks guys for the reply, It's not a fun job but it's a job that offers me a much better pay than a Front Desk Manager in a 3-4 star hotel which i used to work at. So i think i'll got to just hang on to it for the time being. Will try not to put my personal feelings into the message that needs to be translate. I don't usually offer my comment as that will requires me to stand against 1 side or even both. Thanks again !

  6. Hi guys i am a Asian translator in a China company based in Bangkok. Bare with me it'll take some time to explain my situation.

They have to communicate with the Thai Share holders that's when my job comes in.

I have been doing this for almost 6 month the company is starting slow so there's nothing much for me to do. Most of the time i will be required to translate the message from Thai to Chinese.

But recently i start to feel that both the company are hard to handle. The Thai share holder Obviously the bigger one according to Thai Law, they are using the similar management system like all other Thai company. Which the Chinese don't seems understand at all what is going on. They will ask me to translate the stupidest question just for the Thai side to scold me. On the other hand the Admin from the Thai Share holder is incorporating as she doesn't get extra pay from dealing our admin matters.

So almost everyday there will be some issue that both of them will fight about.

To cut it short what should i actually, my wife tells me to just translate every word they say without the need to understand the meaning.

I thought it could work, but some time the question are just too stupid, that make me feel like a idiot translating it. i'll make a example.

TS: Thai share holder C: Chinese

TS: there's a document regarding your workpermit that needs to be submitted before 31st march

C: Can't we do it when your workpermit ends?

i don't understand which part of what i told them is not clear. C always think that the TS is making the job difficult and the TS thinks that the C don't need to know just have to follow what they tell them to.

To make things worse is that i cannot quit my job as i am a foreign Expats if i quit it will take a long process to cancel my Workpermit and staff like that.

    What should i do?

  7. Me as an Asian I will choose Bangkok lady as we like fair skin. Most foreigner I met here have partners from Issan, I am not sure why but I think they like black skin lady with flat nose. But for character wise I think after all they're are after Money unless you give them a sense of security if not it'll be just a pay and go thingy. Good luck in finding your mate,

  8. If I were you I'll be back by now. Why drag till the last days and now they are targeting overstay tourist in pattaya hope you're not in that area. My previous post was a little outdated about taking a flight to Laos because seems that there are reports of overstayer being rejected during boarding. Just Do as Ubon Joe says he's the pro here and always able to suggest the best options. All the best

  9. i recently cleared my 1600 Days Overstay and came back 2 days after i got a Single Entry TR Visa in Laos Vientiane. The Process of leaving is rather Simple You'll be brought to the counter for payment after the immigration officer noticed you overstayed and after paying 20K you're free to go. Coming back i am rather sure that if you come back with visa exempt you'll be pull aside and ask for Proof of Fund and also accommodation bookings & Return Ticket.

So i will suggest don't risk it, I even cross the Land boarder before i take a flight back to BKK.

  10. Hi, i would like to ask how long will it takes to cancel a Workpermit of my previous staff and Hire a new Staff, Here's the situation my New Staff is currently on Tourist Visa with about 3 weeks left. Now i need to cancel the Work Permit of my Previous Staff in order to hire him as my company has only 1 slot left. How should i go about doing it? Thanks

  11. Jackieiam

If your colleague makes 90 day reports he does not have a "Visa" he has an "extension of stay" obtained, with the correct paperwork, from a Thai immigration office.

You could obtain the same, with paperwork supplied by your company, by applying for an "extension of stay" during the last 30 days of any permitted 90 day stay.

A multi-entry visa will only allow multiple 90 day stays for one year. Such a visa requires you to leave and reenter the country every 90 days.

Ok I get it now thanks.

  12. Hi Gentlemen,

I have a following question to seek your advice.

    According to thai embassy website:

Types and validity of Non-Immigrant Visa-B:

    • Single-Entry: valid for 90 days after the date of application. Visa holders may contact the Immigration Bureau of Thailand, after entering Thailand, for the extension of stay and re-entry permit.
    • Multiple-Entry: valid for 1 year after the date of application (90 days maximum per stay). This type of visa will only be granted to those who wish to visit Thailand for short business trips and do not seek to be employed in Thailand.
If I did managed to get a multiply-entry Visa-B, does this mean that I have to do visa run every 90 days?

Or I will be covered by my work permit, where I will be able to stay for a period longer than 90 days?

    Thank you very much.

A work permit does not, of itself, permit(or "cover") any stay and most certainly will not allow a stay of more than 90 days if you were to hold a multiple entry "B" visa.

Now I get more confuse. After I obtain a Multiple entry Non-B I thought i only need to do a 90Days Reporting of address at the immigration. Please correct me if I am wrong. Or I have to exit every 3 month? I have to do this even with Non-b + WP?

A multiple entry visa only provides for 90 day stays during its validity. If you had such a visa you would have to leave and reenter the country every 90 days.

A Work Permit does not allow you to stay in country, only a visa entry or extension of stay gives permission to stay.

Sorry I still don't understand. Non-b multiple entry valid for 1year but I cannot stay longer than 90days in the country? I doesn't make sense, my colleague don't have to leave the country only do a 90days reporting at the immigration.

So what allows him to do that?

  14. Not that I'm Singaporean or resident there for that matter, but isn't it strange that the embassy there doesn't even issue multi entry non-Bs to it's own citizens?

So that means multi entry non-Bs are only really available in western countries?

The problem now is get a multiple entry visa is that he does not have a wort permit. They might if he had one.

Multiple entry visas with a work permit is possible to get in Penang.

Hi ubonjoe, I do have a letter from Board of Investment Thailand which is equivalent to the WP3 approval letter from Ministry of Labour.

I wonder if this will help me towards getting a multiple entry visa?

Secondly, as Jackieiam has mentioned, if I only managed to get a single entry and I proceed to obtain my work permit, does the work permit allows me to enter and exit Thailand freely during the validity of the work permit?

    Thank you very much.

Teo, Work Permit and Visa is a different thing. You are allow to stay in Thailand by having a valid visa and you are allow to work in that by having a work permit

You'll need Both of it which Ubonjoe mention it's from 2 different places

  15. When submitting the WP3 inform your company that for a Singapore National your Minimum Salary to be submitted is 45,000THB. Anything less than that the Application will not be approve. *many people don't know about this

There is no minimum salary to get a work permit. The minimum salary is only for getting an extension of stay based upon working.

OK pardon me, To make it simple My WP3 application i don't have to report that my Salary is more than 45K which can be any amount.

But when it comes to Immigration Office / Consulate i will have to Prove that my Salary is more than 45K. In what way?

Because i assume that i will have to show them the WP3 as part of the document in Order to Obtain a Non-B for the first time.

There's not other Document that can be use to verify this part Unless they don't bother.

i am having a trouble here trying to get the company Fill up the application.

So this is my case my salary is Basic + Commission. The Basic it's self is not over 45K but with the commission it will be.

So in this case i should Just go on and report 45K?

    Please Advice

I was actually think to hire a Lawyer to this But it will cost another 20K+ it will be good if i can handle it myself.

  16. Thai Visa is free for singaporean

Hi Jackieiam, are you sure about this? You have personally applied for non-B visa and it is free of charge?

I assumed you are a fellow Singaporean too smile.png

Also, what is your experience in getting non-B visa?

Did you manage to get single entry only or you managed to apply for multiple entry?

    Thank you very much.

Nope, i did not experience it myself as i am still in the process of Obtaining a Non-B the only difference is i am already in Thailand.

But i did Visa Extension in Laos before when everyone pay 1000 THB for a 60days Single Entry Tourist Visa i Paid nothing and my friend (Singaporean) who is holding a Non-O Visa also did not pay the 2,000 THB (Single Entry) / 5,000 (Multiple Entry)

So i am rather sure that Thai Visa is Free for Singaporean / Malaysian and some other Nationals.

From what i know is that you can only get a Single Entry Non-B (90days) after which you come into Thailand and apply for Work Permit With that you can proceed to Apply for Non-B (Multi-Entry) 1-Year Visa.

Ok, So what you mean is that i can declare that my wages is less than 45,000 if i am a Singapore Citizen to obtain a work Permit.

But i won't be able to do Extension of visa ?

    Now i am confuse
