  1. Clear your overstay first before thinking about it. Exit Via BKK to Laos. Pay the fine come back with a valid visa. Either TR or visa exempt Time is running up you have till march 20 before you'll not be able to see your kid for many years if you're banned. Rather than thinking how you wanna come back with Non-O i think this is a smarter choice. *Of cos you still stand a chance to get caught anytime from now till you exit the country. Especially if you are travelling around trying to get your paperwork done.

  2. You can only do the change to a non-b visa at immigration in Bangkok. You would need at least 15 days remaining on your current entry.

The most important thing you would need to do the change or to get the non-b visa at an embassy or consulate is a work permit application approval letter from the labor ministry.

Your employer should know what is needed to get the visa.

Ok I understand. What you mean in changing of Visa Only can be done in Bangkok. But If i exit and go to Embassy / Consulate is not consider Changing of Visa.

I am currently on a 60days Visa can you suggest which one is better between 30Days Extension at immigration / Exit Via Cambodia and come back with visa Exempt?

  3. Hi,

Can someone share with me how to convert my 60 Days Single Entry Tourist Visa to Non-B

What are the exact document my company needs to give me.

    It's not a teaching job

How many days visa do i need to have in remanding.

I prefer to exit and do it in Laos rather than doing it in the immigration. Does that make a difference?

If i do not have enough days can i do a visa run to Cambodia?

    Thank you

  4. From most of the post overstayer use suvarnabhumi airport for exit. I don't know why but i did the same. It was only last week that i cleared my overstay for 1633 Days. I got a ticket to Vientiane Laos. Got a Single entry Visa and got back no problem at all no one asked about the overstay stamp. No one ask for proof of Funds or Booking initial. BUT, this part is very important. Do not assume everything is going to be smooth. Be prepared than to be sorry. Just bring along 20K Thai Baht for the fine & 20K Thai baht when you enter. *in case the immigration ask for it, you have got to show it. Avoid embassy in Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong. They will not hesitate to reject Visa application. On the other hand Laos and Malaysia *Penang ONLY have no problem issuing you with a single entry visa. Good Luck

  5. I did a large overstay about one year, and I recently got denied a single entry tourist visa, and when I came back with a visa exempt plane entry in mind, I got pulled out of line and intimidated by the officers. I had a flight out of the country, but they didn't want to see that. They threatened indefinite jailtime. I did nothing wrong, and a superior immigration officer let me in. warm welcome!

welcome back. I overstayed for 1633days and I am granted single entry visa in Vientiane. Where did you get your application rejected? I am a ASEAN citizen I don't know if this help with my application. I try asking the visa agent outside the consulate they tell me is no problem at all. You paid the fine is cleared.

  6. Good for you and welcome back. I am sure it is a great relief for you and your family. I vividly recall the sense of relief.

Yap, so excited now and getting very impatient. Just got off the flight from udon - DMK. The new airport looks good but the taxi service still cannot make it. Waited 50mins to get a cab. I should have just grab one outside or even use grab taxi. Too overwhelmed to think of anything now just wanna get home as soon as possible.

If anyone needs to know my experience of how I clears my overstay I am willing to share. Start a topic or reply to this one I'll be reading every now and then until March 20. After that who knows what is gonna happen.

  7. <p>

To make things worse, I'm on overstay since Dec 2013. I was caught by immigration back in 2014 at the airport when I was flying domestic and I had to give a backhander on the spot to stay. Immigration police let me leave the airport on overstay.

My trip was supposed to be a trip, but as I started making friends I found it hard to leave here. It's difficult for people under 50 to stay here without a work permit.

Then I met a wonderful girl and we have a baby on the way in March.

Please help me step-by-step to resolve this conflict so I can stay here legally. The new rules are going to be enforced right around when my son is born.

Step 1. Go to the airport with 20,0000baht.

    2.?

    3.?

Where can I fly to to get a visa? What visa am I applying for? Should I wait until my son is born or go before? Can I have a visa for being a father, or do I need to be married for that?

    Thanks for reading.

    • Leave asap and get a tourist visa from a neighbouring country. Avoid KL and Singapore.
    • You'll get 60 days on re-entry which can be extended by 30 days.
    • Once the baby is born, if needed, you can apply for a 60 day extension of stay as the parent of a Thai.
    • Although you will be the parent you will not be considered the legal father of your child in Thai law because you aren't married. So you should apply to the court to become the legal parent asap. Easy with the cooperation of the mother.
    • While your applying to legalise your parenthood or once t's been granted go to a neighbouring country and get a single entry non 'O' visa.
    • You'll be granted a 90 days stay on re-entry. Within the last 30 days of the 90 you can apply for a 1 year extension of stay IF you are the legal father AND can show a 400k balance in your bank on the day you apply (no seasoned funds needed) or a certified income of 40k per month.
Step one- Buy a one way ticket BKK - Vientiane Laos. Makes sure it's BKK not DMK. So you can try Laoairline/ Bangkok airway. Then on the day of departure wear something respectful, when it's your turn go to the officer tell him politely as you hand over your passport that you overstayed. He will check for your record and ask a senior Officer over. You will then be brought over to the payment counter and wait for them to call you. After paying the fine 20,000 you are free to go. Remember when they ask you a question reply politely.

Step 2- try to be in Laos on Monday / Wednesday. Go to the Thai consulate in the morning around 8Am you will see people approaching ask if you want forms. You can hire them to write one for you take a picture & also photocopy of passport. Do not pay more than 250THB / 60000 kip for the whole service. You will need to bring the application in yourself. Tell the guy writing the form you want a Single Entry Tourist visa. as you don't have any paper work this is the only visa you can get.The officer will not open your passport on that day to see if you overstay you will instantly be issued with a que no. For collection the next day.

Step 3 - go collect the passport and come back to Thailand. Prepare 20,000thb cash in case boarder officer ask for proof of Fund.

After this 3steps you will have a valid 60days visa. From here you can decide what kind of a visa you want in order to stay in Thailand. Non-O marriage / Non-B work permit / ED student visa.

I wish you good luck in clearing the overstay. This is my personally experience I don't know if you'll experience everything the same as me or you'll be unlucky someway. There's no 100%. But going to Viantiane you have 80%. I cleared my overstay on the 17/1/2016

  8. Hi guys update. I am back with SETR visa. No problem at all. So I urge people who had overstay for some reason or another. Go make things right while you still can.

*i am not referring to people who had committed crimes in their home country and is now hiding in Thailand.

I am referring to to people that has no intention of breaking the law in Thailand wish to stay in Thailand with their family. But have overstay their visa due to whatever reason.

Thai government has gave these people a chance (including me) to make things right. Vientiane still issue me with a SETR, even though I have my overstay stamp on page 1 of my new passport. At the boarder the officer looked at it and stamp on the single entry visa. So I am sure overstay stamp is not what they are picking on. But for safety reason, I brought hotel booking,20K THB cash & my bank statement for the past 6months. But they did not ask for it. I feel very relieved now and I am on the way to catch the next flight back to Bangkok to see my family. It's been years since I feel like that & for a long time since I feel alive. Take care guys, I wish everyone all the best.

  9. Oh one last thing. Apply you visa in Laos / Penang. Singapore/Hong Kong/ KL they will find excuse to reject you if they can. They dont want to be responsible for you overstaying again. From another post someone posted that the Hong Kong embassy even asked for the bank statement for the whole period that he overstayed. I just called up my bank for bank statement over 6month is not free. They will charge you for every month statement that you need. My case I roughly counted if I need it it'll cost me about 25000THB to get the bank statement for the past 3years. So that is simpily an excuse for them to reject you.

  10. A cleared overstay should be a past. The immigration officers will question you. That's for sure! But make sure you have a few things with you that you can prove to them you are here for holiday. 10,000(for 30days visa exempt) 20,000(for single entry 60days visa). Bookings of hotel. (You won't get away telling them you'll find one later) *Best assurance to them is a return ticket to you own country. Not to any nearby country. Lastly for long time overstayer I suggest to bring along your bank statement for the last 6month. (To prove that you are not working during your overstay) All of this I have it with me all the time but never been asked before. But better to be safe than to be sorry.

  11. first thing you should do is to take a picture of it. If you don't want to post it then send it to your wife and ask her to read it for you. Not assuming it's a 3years ban. That's the first thing I did when I paid the fine. And my wife said it was the department of the immigration nothing to do with ban. But my advice don't come in on visa exempt. There are chances that you will be send back. Go to Laos or Penang to get a visa first.

  12. Stevymac - I was in a similar position with original entry visa in old passport and a new unmarked passport. I went to Suvaranabhumi with a ticket out and the 20k baht. I was directed to a desk behind regular immigration. The stamp was transferred from the old passport into the new one (rather incongruous as the entry stamp therefore actually preceded the issuing date of the passport in my case by over 10 years). The departure stamp was placed beside it along with a stamp indicating length of overstay and that the 20k fine was paid. They seemed particularly interested that I still had the TA6 form but maybe that might have been due to when I arrived they might not have had a computerised system in operation. While they were clearly and justifiably nonplussed with my overstay I found them extremely professional about it. No back-rooms or requirements for "tea" money. Indeed the process was being watched by the senior I/O and on leaving the desk I enquired if I was blacklisted and reassured that I was not. The whole process took about 30 minutes Lots of forms to sign relating to understanding pending overstay rules. He should therefore arrive early, be conservatively dressed and accept that he was in the wrong, be apologetic pay his fine and be on his way. He might be questioned on re-entry therefore the sound advice of some of earlier posters to obtain a visa in advance of re-entry. He is right to try and get it sorted out and I fully understand his apprehension but from someone who has been through it he will feel a tremendous sense of relief once cleared. A cold beer airside never tasted so good!

If someone like you posted on my post 2-3years back I would have did I long ago. That time I was cursed and swear everyone hoping that I get caught. That eventually got be afraid to even step near the airport. But it was so true of what you said about the sense of relief. Overstaying is not fun at all. Many things you cannot do, i even tried going on holiday with my wife I bought her an air ticket and I took bus how ridiculous is that. You cannot check into a decent hotel always afraid when you see road blocks even when you're not driving. So for people who ever thought of overstaying you visa DON'T.

  13. First thing first leave the country and pay the fine I did it 2days ago. The officer treated me with respect although I was damn scared at the moment. In total I met 3 officer first one you hand him your passport and tell him politely you overstayed. He will check and after that he might ask what have you been doing in Thailand all these time. Reply politely again for me I replied in Thai I stay with my GF. He will then turn on the light to ask another officer here to bring you and your passport to the counter to clear the fine. I was ask why I am I not going to my home country. I replied in Thai politely again that I have something to settle there. Although he knew flying from BKK to Vientiane what else can it be. And he'll ask you to sit down and wait. After that the 3rd officer will ask you to sign. Ask for the fine. And that's it 5mins. *regarding the new passport just go to the airport with both I did that also and j even lost my departure card. Which take a long time for them to retrieve bcos the numbers was reuse they couldn't find my record. Remember after leaving every officer do the Thai "wai" put you hand together to show them respect. For the trouble you cause.

  14. For sure I am 1. Have to admit I was afraid, didn't intentionally overstay but after knowing it is too late and live on with it. Been trying to looked for ways to clear it in Thailand and even got scammed 15,000THB by an Indian man Malaysian. Who knows everything about visa rule but end up being a con. So my advice is do it yourself or be sorry. Have to take this chance to thank the Thai Goverment for giving the grace time to clear this I believe its more than enough time for someone who really want to make things right to find the money and make the exit. No one can hide forever even for me Asian Chinese looking. Speaks very fluent Thai*most thai was shock to know that I'm not. I live the way Thai people lives. Except I don't work. Even then I feel I need to do it. So i urge everyone that overstay clear it ASAP. There will be people out there laughing at you but be assured that you are not alone.

  15. You can download a copy of application form for the embassy website. 2 passport size photo & photo copy of passport front page and visa page. If you're in Bangkok go with a tour. Can simpily search for visa run to Vientiane. With them you pay 3000 For travel and accommodation expenses the will help you fill up the form also. All you have to do is be there personally, everything else is settled. Only things that vary is the visa fees depending on the passport you hold.

  16. I personally did it myself. Bought a ticket from BKK-Viantiane. Paid the 20,000THB fine went to the embassy and requested for a Single Entry TR visa. Do not try destination like Singapore/Hong Kong/KL or anything other than Laos or Penang. I spent about 10,000THB for the trip include plane tickets and hotel and ect. And I also have a 20,000THB in cash in case the immigration officer ask for proof of fund. So I can assume that with 50K he could make things right and I will strongly encourage to do it. He'll be sorry if he was caught after March 20. I personally was afraid to lose my family so I decided to make things right. Now my advice is he should clear the over stay ASAP, after that get a SETR and re-enter. 60+30days I believe it's long enough to think what to do next and sufficient time to prepare for next step. Non-O / Retirement.

  17. the new multiple entry is not easy to get. You need to apply it from you own country and prove of fund 200,000 THB in your local bank book.

Regarding the Hong Kong consulate, never been there before but I believe if you try in Vientiane should not be a problem. As they don't even look at your application. Especially when the Tour agent from Bangkok is on service they will clear the que as fast as they could.
