where to find full moon IPA (yellow can) in HH/Cha-am
i love full moon brewworks IPA (the yellow can, Summer Lay, Fin Fin IPA, not the low carb one), any idea where to find in bulk at a lower price? i assume villa market has it, but they overcharge everything. I'm heading up north to a good beer desert and need to stock up before i go. thanks

visa exempt entry after a few days out of the country?
i have some business i need to take care of in the US, this isn't simply about extending my visa.

visa exempt entry after a few days out of the country?
i guess the answer to my question will be "depends on the immigration officer i happen to get at the arrival desk" but i just worked out a plan which i think will work. i take a cheap one way to singapore, united has a super cheap non stop return to SFO right now, i get back to SIN, then i fly to Laos (i don't want to wait around in singapore), take a holiday in Laos with my wife who is up there near the border anyhow, get a tourist visa in Laos (3-4 days) and come back to thailand.

visa exempt entry after a few days out of the country?
i'm in thailand now, no visa (visa exempt), US passport, been here 70 days or so, i'm currently on a 30 day extension. my return ticket to the US is Mar 17th. i'd like to go to the US soon then come back here after only 3-4 days in the US. i don't want to wait around 15 days or so to get a tourist visa. i know there is a general "rule" about back to back thailand entries to discourage border runs to neighbouring countries in SE Asia but what about returning to my home country? Also, i'm married to a Thai, and i can show i have a return ticket to the US on Mar 17th do you think they would let me in if i came back without a visa after only 3-4 days gone? thanks

what to do, how to extend visa?
my wife just called Surat immigration and they confirmed i can get a 60 day extension, just need to bring marriage certificate, tabien baan and id card. no bank balance requirement. so although i do like the idea of a Lao trip, this sounds far easier.

what to do, how to extend visa?
since the extension i would be applying for is "visiting a thai spouse", would it be better to say my wife is living here and not with me in the US? (she has a green card but i know no reason why thai immigration would know that)

what to do, how to extend visa?
sounds good, but i think my first choice is extend here if i can. if not, i'll definitely do that
-
what to do, how to extend visa?
ok, thanks, so would it work i apply online as soon as i cross the border, then hang out in Vientiane to pay, then go travel around until my visa is approved?
-
what to do, how to extend visa?
i need to apply after i enter Lao right? so I guess i apply then go to the embassy/consulate to pay the next day right? is that how it works?
-
what to do, how to extend visa?
we have the original marriage certificate here so good idea to take that to immigration. i'll have my wife call Surat Thani immigration and find out what they say about a 60 day extension and i'll report back

what to do, how to extend visa?
my wife is from Phetchabun and when we return from Lao we'll go to her village before flying from BKK. wife wants to visit Lao anyhow so it works out well
-
what to do, how to extend visa?
ok, no problem as we plan to stay in hotels in Lao anyhow. we'd drive to Nong Khai, leave the car somewhere and take the bus to Vientiane. i assume no problem getting visa on arrival for Lao if going by bus?
-
what to do, how to extend visa?
thanks, you mean hotel booking in where? Lao or on return to Thailand? we have a house here so no hotel needed but my wife can show tabien baan good to know i have an option, i was worried id have to go back to US early.
-
what to do, how to extend visa?
ok thanks, i haven't done this before so sorry for the dumb questions. so i would apply online once i get to Lao right and show the Lao entry stamp as part of the application? is it pretty much 100% sure i'd get the tourist visa given i would have just left Thailand after 60 days visa exempt?
-
what to do, how to extend visa?
ok, so i would apply at the Thai consulate in person at Vientiane right? how long does it take to get a tourist visa? (we'd probably spend a week in Lao anyhow and have a look around)

what to do, how to extend visa?
i'm in ko phangan and immigration here is the worst.. tourist visa in Vientiane sound great, thanks

what to do, how to extend visa?
i'm US passport, married to Thai, came here Dec 2nd with no visa, and got 60 days on arrival so i have to figure out what to do on Jan 30th. we (my wife is wife me) have return tickets to US on March 17 so that's about 7 weeks to cover. in the past i was able to get a 60 days extension to a none O because married to Thai but now some people are saying that's not possible and even getting a 30 day extension might be a problem. i came to Thailand for 1 day while transiting to New Zealand in early November and i was in Thailand for 4 months last winter on a none-O what are my options? i'd love to get a 2 months extension in Thailand obviously and i'll have my wife call a couple of immigration places where i could claim residence to see if they will help. if not, i'm thinking go to KL and get a none-O there. is that still possible? thanks

long term solution to moving money from US to Thailand
my wife has a green card right now, going for citizenship next year (i'm from the UK but have US citizenship). but in any case the amount she will withdraw will be below to tax threshold so no problem on the US side however, i just called fidelity and they will let me change my account address to the UK where my daughter lives and they will send new debit and credit cards to that address and my daughter can forward to me or my wife using something secure like fedex or DHL so i'm pretty happy with that solution.

long term solution to moving money from US to Thailand
not an option since most of my money is in 401k accounts and cannot withdraw more then $24,000/year or big tax hit in US. also, i don't trust Thai bank accounts with large amount of money and although the US is f'ed up these days, at least the banks are somewhat secure
