Anyway look forward to seeing the rest of the series...did the projectors still have the lenses on them by any chance?
A friend asked me the same question recently and I didn't look to see, nor did I see any bulbs. Wouldn't be surprised if they were still there. I was concerned about what might be in the air in such an old and decaying place, hopefully no asbestos exposure. No cough yet, at least. I have a story on this place coming out for sale tomorrow via my syndicator. I'm not sure that they'll choose my best pictures in the pictorial so I've created this gallery on my site with my selected images.

Visited a 30-year abandoned movie theater in Sukhotai Province today. Have been to 4 abandoned film theaters in the past month, this is the only one that still has seats & the original projectors. Only had time to process one photo

I shot some photos yesterday at the abandoned Oscar Theater in Makkasan (Petchaburi Road), which is now home to 'working' girls, low-rent gangsters, and homeless folks just trying to get by. Photography is not allowed on the premisis, with 'private property' signs and such posted around, so I paid an overseer (who lives on the second floor) a bit of cash to take some photos for a few minutes. He said that his boss doesn't like for people to take photos. I couldn't get into the actual theater itself, as it has been boarded up for years. However, I did read some posts on the southeast Asia movie theater project regarding Oscar Theater, and one person said that the owner has charged tens of thousands of baht per day to a local tv station to shoot there. The full series is here: http://www.daxward.com/The-abandoned-oscar-theater-se

Some of my 'haunted' junkyard images were included in a story in the Daily Express today, albeit not with the photos I would have chosen. Glad to have it featured, nonetheless. I processed 80 images from this shoot, have added my favorites to this series. Thanks to anyone who's interested enough to have a look

In Dolphin Bay, near Pranburi. There is a house that is pretty famous. Derelict. Pretty huge. Looks like a Roman nightmare. Columns. Stone lions, Gargoyles. Has quite a history behind it as well. Then near the river in the same general area is a whole western style development that's been left to rot. Two story homes. It's own airstrip. They say fighting in the family and huge gambling debts prevented it from ever opening.
The house I mentioned has a very famous murder attached to it as well.
Great description! Is this near Som Roi Yot national park? I think I ran across this place 2 years ago and have been meaning to go back & shoot it for a series. Thanks for the info, glad to know it's still there!

Here are a few more from the junkyard. I have a story on the junkyard coming out for sale via my syndicator in the next week or so. Not sure if it will be bought, but hoping so. It's a unique place with an interesting & creepy backstory (number two on this list). We spent last Sunday driving to 5 of the places on that list, with the junkyard being the only one that's still standing.

We visited a junkyard in Bang Khen district yesterday & took some photos. This junkyard is unusual in that it is used by the police as an evidence holding yard for vehicles that have been in major accidents (often resulting in fatalities). The remnants of accident vehicles are taken there by the police once they are no longer needed as case evidence. If they are not claimed by family or former owners, they end up here. There are cars, buses, lots of motorbikes, and larger trucks that have all been in serious crashes. Certainly a morbid place but with fascinating details.

Diznax why not write an short article with your photo set and send it to petapixel.com they're always looking for new articles, so are SLR lounge.com and Fstoppers.com.
If you frequent them 3 sites you realize they often have the same articles reworded differently.
Would be a good way to gain exposure.
Hi,
That's great advice & I would, but my images & accompanying story are under contract with my publisher, who features them for sale on their site. These last two stories haven't been purchased, but my first three were bought & published by the Daily Mail twice, the Mirror, Lonely Planet, and some others. Some pictorials sell better than others, I guess, but from what I hear it was good to even get 3/5 published. Anyway, will keep trying & thanks for the suggestions, I may use them with some other series I haven't published.

I visited the Bang Sue train cemetery on Saturday, full series here, will have a publication coming out for sale via my distributor on Sunday. Hopefully this one will actually be picked up by the daily mail or mirror again... it looks like my theatre series from last week may not be published, other than on the syndication site, which is okay, as it was just great to be able to document such an interesting historical place. Thanks for the continued shares

Hello,
I've been working on documenting disused/abandoned structures around Thailand for the past year or so via photo series', and am always on the lookout for new subjects. There are a seemingly endless number of such locations around the country, and each one has it's own unique character and usually some beauty to be found amongst the decay and ruin. I've started this topic both as a means for us to share locations of unique abandoned places around the country, and for forum members to share images that convey their perspective of these places. I look forward to seeing others' images and of hearing their experiences.
Please include any key info about the sites including local directions(drop a Google Maps pin if you can) or possible dangers/trespassing need-to-know's, as we certainly don't want anyone to get in any trouble by visiting guarded private property. *
Please note that the Sathorn Unique 'ghost tower' is, as of the time of writing, off limits & blocked off via fence, with threats of prosecution to trespassers. Also, it's well-known and documented. It would be great to use this forum as a means to share lesser-known derelict locations around the country.
I'll start with a few directions to some sites I've either discovered or heard about and visited -
Abandoned train cars in Samut Sakhon - Their Location
Abandoned Batman Nightclub Pattaya - Location
Airplane Graveyard in Bangkok - Location
Abandoned Jittapawan College Pier - Location
Abandoned Mansions in Nakhon Pathom - This site is inhabited by two families and they have requested for me not to share their location so as to avoid masses of tourists. Apologies.

My theater pictures & story got published in the Daily Mail (if you try to view the site in Thailand you will probably not be able to view it unless you use a VPN)
