Yes (two hours or so) and yes.
Just curious: did you wait deliberately for 2 hours or why would one else wait for 2 hours before returning?

Not me and also can't remember reading here.
I was wandering around the Laos checkpoint area for less than two hours.
Did you immediately return to Thailand after you got to the Laos checkpoint?
And Thai immigration also didn't care that you entered Thailand the same day you departed from Thailand?

What would be the best pharmacy on Koh Phangan and on Koh Samui?

Yesterday I went to CW, I always thought that Nonthaburi was a district of Bangkok but learnt it the hard way...
But like I wrote in my earlier post, CW appears to be well organized.

Nonthaburi immigration works slowish. Officers slurping their coffee, looks like it's not well organized.
Had to go through water knee deep because of flooding. What an entrance...
Won't go there again.
Chaeng Watthana appears to be much more efficient.

Is it correct that the Tourist Visa extension has to be done at Chaengwattana but the Visa Exempt extension at Laksi IT Square?

I just got a new scb debit card "Let's plus" which includes accident insurance.
Would this be a reliable accident insurance, or more a case of "hope for the best" when something unforeseen happens?

The bank card was issued while using my current passport so I guess it matches the number that is on file?

My Thai bank card has expired. Can I just go to any of my bank's branches to replace it? It was issued in another city, so very inconvenient if I have to go there.

Does it make any difference when choosing between a tourist E Visa or a Visa Exempt regarding the need for an onward ticket, health insurance and proof of accommodation?
Or is it the same for both options in this regard?
-
I haven't figured out yet.

1) What would be the correct visa to apply for from abroad if I want to get a non-o visa or volunteer visa in Thailand?
2) Can I apply for the initial visa from abroad online?
3) And once I'm in Thailand, within how many days should I apply for 1 of these 2 kinds of visas?

Is getting a refund of the airport tax when flying with AirAsia also possible? If so, how?At least for AirAsia (done it with them), but I assume for most/all airlines :unused tickets you get a refund of the airport tax:The cheapest flights around are often just 1200 Baht of which 700 is tax:so in the end the throw-away ticket costs you only 500 Baht.

You got the 60 days for a visa I guess?Just for info. My route in to Thailand is Singapore to Chiang Mai. In just over 3 years I have 6 SETVs, all issued from London and the same number of visa exempt entries as I often visit somewhere else for a few days.
Last flew in last December having only been out of Thailand for a month.
Had cash, hotel reservation and flight out just in case. Was asked for nothing. Smile and 60 day stamp.

I got the cash with me so that'll be no problem. Am I allowed to do a quick booking out of the country in case they ask for one?The advantage to the Chiang Mai airport immigration-checkpoint, is they seem (based on reports to-date) to follow the written rules - as contrasted to some other airport-checkpoints (and the Poipet/Aranya land-border entry-point). At the bad entry points, you may be denied-entry even if you followed the rules to the letter.
But, Visa Exempt entries are more restrictive than Tourist Visa entries - per the published rules. Visa Exempt entries require an onward ticket within 30-days and 10K Baht in Cash or travelers-checks on your person (not plastic). Chiang Mai would be completely within the rules to deny your entry on Visa Exempt for not having either of those met - OR - if you had done a quick "out/in" run. Some restrictions/guidelines for the issuance of Visa Exempts were published here:
https://www.thaivisa.com/forum/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=435513
They talked about it, then decided to just reduce/waive VOA fees (not the same as Visa-Exempt), to facilitate more "package-tour" visitors who, without the tiny cost-savings, might otherwise not be able to afford to visit at all.

1) Is it usual that one is being asked for a flight out of Thailand when applying for visa exempt? I think I have to go through immigration in Chiang Mai instead of Bangkok, maybe that makes a difference? I'll take cash (10.000 or 20.000 Baht?) with me in US $, just to be safe. By the way, I don't visit Thailan that often, so maybe that also makes a difference regarding being asked for a ticket out of Thailand?
2) If I remember correctly at the end of last year tourist visa regulations were being made easier temporarily? But I guess there's no benefit for me when entering on a visa exempt?

If I'm correct there's no limit on Visa Exempts when arriving by air. But do immigration officers take in consideration the length of stay in Thailand while using visa exempt? I mean are they more likely to grant another visa exempt when you only have been staying a few days in Thailand previously while on visa exempt?

Is there a limit to visa exempt entries when I enter Thailand by air?

So the days of waiting for hours on end are over? Or is it just the quiet season?

I read a topic about a week ago (but I can't find it) from someone who was able to skip the queue when applying for a visa in Vientiane. Since I hate waiting, what is the secret to this skipping?
Are people in the queue waiting for an application form while if you have downloaded it already, you can go into the fast lane?
-
When applying for a SETV in Vientiane, one doesn't need to show a ticket out of the country, cash (20.000B), or have to give an itinerary in Thailand?

I wonder if I would save time by flying to Vientiane with an eVisa and then go rightaway to the border, instead of flying to Udon and take a van from there to the border with Laos?
