I have actually spent a week sailing in the Mediterranean with a millionaire, and a multi-millionaire, but their millions were in Euros, not like all of you cheap-skates in Bangkok... What I noted about the Multi-Millionaire( I knew him and his worth was a tad under 100 million Euros) was that he would always bring all the cheapest sh*t he could find at his nearest department store - food, water, alcohol and then he would share and eat it all himself... lol, it was often absolute garbage, the lowest grade food and snacks. But then what I noted about pretty much all the struggling middle class is that they would always bring the most expensive cheese, bread, wine, champagne... because they don't want to appear "cheap" in front of their friends or whatever, it was an absolutely ridiculous disparity in attitude between the super-rich and the middle class, whose net worth is often in the negative due to loans and mortgages and credit cards... They actually repeatedly tried to hook me up with some of the girls that work there, I just never bothered - I just want to pay for my stuff and go. It can be hard for some of them to comprehend that I just come there to do my occasional shopping, once or twice a week or whatever - they always treat it like it's a date... waste a lot of time each time... I think one of the girls who was trying to get my attention the most has quit recently or whatever - maybe that's why the manager is pissed... basically I don't even pay attention at any of this nonsense... if it wasn't for all these constant incidents it would probably take me a few months to realize that she doesn't work there anymore... But they always throw some shenanigan at you over there... Basically I will just stop shopping there, it's a win-win...

Basically they do want me to come back... but it's going to be some new girl playing some weird drama over there... I'll be back in the Twilight zone sooner than you think...

Even only 10 years ago if a Farang died in this country, it happened something like once in 6 months, and it was always a nation wide sensation. Instead of acknowledging that this is a great example of horrendous service which is typical of Thailand lately - all of you are ganging up on me for some reason..... lol

I've traveled extensviely around the world, I've never experienced anything more weird than what I keep experiencing here in Thailand, where even shopping at a European based food chain express point turns into some seriously weird Twilight zone BS...

But I do think they should install bag scanners at every BTS station - that way they can check every bag hassle free and very quickly, and they don't have to open any of the bags. As for the "security" at the moment - I don't even know why they are there, I think it's just to put on a show and arbitrarily harass people...

Also I have a reason to think that's it's harassment in my case. Because I've been to the immigration office here in Bangkok since 1993 and I never even had a "conversation" with an official if you know what I mean, same at the passport control. I never had a problem with the police in 23 years... not even a conversation. By these security guards are just a major nuisance because first of all it's definitely just a show, and they DO single out foreigners all the time... That's why I think they just do it for their personal amusement to inflate their petty egos... nothing more, it has nothing to do with security of any kind....

I ride the BTS every day to work and back. I carry a bag every day. I am checked about once a month, while Thai people seem to be checked much more often. Just my experience. I think the appearance of the person determines a lot.

I use the BTS extensively and never get stopped.

The MRT at Asoke does pointlessly glance into my bag, I don't actually stop, I just unzip and open it for them as I walk past.

My appearance is always smart too, never wear shorts or sandals.

I was actually a quality auditor for the US government with a very clean employment record, so when I see some genuine sh*t or BS - I report it... What I see here in Bangkok though is a bunch of worthless white boys with no balls, clearly in denial... lol

The security at BTS, Siam Paragon, Central World, the Emporium - they are a bunch of useless bums who harass white foreigners for their own amusement and provide virtually zero security... If you say something different then you are a liar...

Maybe the reason you never managed to land a normal job back in your Western Countries perhaps means that you are not exactly the sample group of Farangs that anyone should even bother asking for an opinion ...

Lol, there's certainly a wide-spread harassment of whites in Bangkok, I was not even affected by it the most by far - for some reason the cops really like me, never been searched or stopped by cops. As for the security - I reported what I reported because it's true.

They do check foreigners only - and they never search the Thais... so they provide ZERO security and are just a huge pain in the ass for visitors...

And some of you can continue your worthless blah blah blah, but it's not going to solve this problem for anybody...
