I have recently had two scary experiences with Grab drivers. One of the wasn’t Thai and was very menacing, and the other looked Chinese Thai. One would not leave my building for a long period of time. There is zero background check on these people. Will never use them again. Beware of Grab.

you sent me very expensive 5 star restaurants. not at all what I wanted. I can find those on Trip Advisor. Perhaps I should have made it clear. I am not a tourist. I do not want to spend a fortune everyday for food.. so I have to spend a fortune to eat a good meal ? where are the family restaurants with good food and good prices ?

I did not want peaches. I did not ask for peaches. I wanted fresh fruit.

Have sampled about twenty. Nothing great so far. Canned peaches in the fruit bowl at Siam Paragon yesterday. Really would like to have something good. Prices at all my restaurants went up a lot last week by the way. It is getting expensive out there.

Hello all. I have a good friend who walks and sleeps with excruciating hip pain. Is it possible to just go in and buy some Codeine or Dicodin in Thailand ?

Never got any vaccine.

Seems to be a mystery. Have asked many pharmacies and they keep telling me to go to another and another and another.

Unsophisticated folks haven’t heard of the number one travel magazine in the world. Have been reading Condé Nast since I was a girl.
Thialand is heaven compared to anywhere else. You are lucky to live in Thailand. You should be respectful of your host country.- 3

This change has great meaning for me. I went to the night market in Patpong on Saturday and there was not one stall or seller there. It was a dark street. Couldn’t believe it. Usually has hundreds of sellers.

Yet your little ray of sunshine is no more than a negative response in itself. ?
It is incredible that guests in a country seeking their dream would ever complain. It shows that those people will not change and that they were chowder heads in their own countries.

Very good article, and a very important topic indeed. Thailand changed my life and made me a much better person. Thailand taught me so much. How to be patient, kind, and to think good thoughts. I studied Buddhism in a temple and lived there. I am much calmer and better. I got a lot out of Thailand. My kids were born there.
But, having said that, this is not the same Thailand anymore. My days were amazing and wonderful, and so were the people then. Bangkok was an amazing place, Bernard Trink was alive. There was magic in the air everyday. Those days are long gone folks. You missed it and you are different. I have no idea why many of you are in Thailand now. What could it possibly have to offer anyone ?

The answer is no. Land borders are not easier. They are just as stern and serious these new days. Everything has changed. They have exactly the same info in their database everywhere. It is not attractive to continue to live there. Good luck.

I fear fellow Westerners more than locals here and elsewhere when I travel.

House
in Chiang Rai
The population in Chiang Rai is more than doubling every 5 years. Young educated Thais are moving here and starting up small businesses for a better quality of life. Drug laundering continues at about the same fate in the last 20 years but this is super big money. They use it to buy land and then backfill it. The large amount of new roads under construction along with the new SEZ in Chiang Khong will cause the population to increase. I have noticed a lot of people switching to growing pineapples and strawberries which are not controlled by the government mafia. The new 6 lane motor way from Chiang Khong connecting to the new roads in Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai and Bangkok will bring a lot of Chinese tourist. The current big time construction of the ring roads should be finished in 2=3 years. The motor way to Chiangmai and the railroad from Chiang Khong will take longer.

You must be a Windows user. I haven't seen a virus or malware for fifteen years.

. Just come back, no problem. It isn't the issue people say it is. I know. . But to me, Thailand is not the same and not cool any more at all.How to find that out, whether one was blacklisted?
