  1. There just seems to be so many people that either commit suicide in Thailand; fall over railings; or possibly other reasons. Frankly, the numbers seem astounding. I wonder if any of the Embassies communicate with each other on this phenomenon. RIP to the deceased and condolences to her family.

Taking one's bra and shoes off, and hanging the bra over the railing seems to exclude, accident, murder and the other popular conspiracy theories.

Some sort of mental breakdown, sad that one so young should do this.

i spoke with her fiance. he thinks she jumped to escape.

  2. I spoke to some people in the know last night at Mixx (It is still open.) That front section of Lima Lima, the veranda being torn down, is illegal and will be removed as it is now. The back section, where Mask is (Which is now closed) will be removed.

At this time, Mixx, Brooklyn and the little diners in the front and Starbucks are all legal and will remain. Lima Lima, the inside part, will remain. For now.

They are likely to only destroy the offending locations and save the rest of the building. Mixx is 100% legal and in the legal part of the building before other owners encroached and are fighting this tooth and nail (Obviously, it was packed wall to wall last night)

  3. They will of course be toasting this loser on the bingo player forums.

And possibly trying to drum up some business on the back of it....we're avin a sendoff for ol' Steve-O, do join us etc.

    Why is he a loser?

We know Steve had 2 daughters. Presumably his income was supporting those 2 daughters. We know Steve had a health scare in the past, possibly due to weight and alcohol issues. That was a warning shot. He continued the same lifestyle with reckless abandon. To me, this is a loser.

So now, presumably his young daughters have lost their father and some emotional/financial support. Totally avoidable. To me, this is a loser.

He had the chance to do the right thing. He knew what he was doing was wrong for many many reasons and did nothing but dig a deeper hole. To me, this is a loser.

No different than parents who make babies and then stick them on a motorbike with no helmet. To me, this is a loser.

Although I wouldn't label him a loser on a forum out of respect I can't argue with your reasoning.

Steve told me some years ago that he needed and wanted to slow down.

I had a bar just off of walking st for 13 years and thought I hit it hard but I'd wager that he put more booze away then me.

I had a few health warnings also.

My mate owned the Blues Factory. Biggest drunk I knew. Smashed his body up numerous times on his motorbike even though he has 2 young children and a wife.

  5. I've been to Viva hotel twice in the last month. While waiting for my change in the car park, I noticed there's a camera. This is Thailand so:

    a) The camera does not work.

b ) The employee doesn't look at the CCTV monitors.

    c) All of the above.

  6. In the soi Buakow area, I see 2 restaurants that are always busy. One is known as the hole in the wall. It is a long running bare basics Thai restaurant that is open 24 hours and has customers seemingly around the clock. Food is more expensive than outdoors despite it being crammed and hot.

Retox is a 24 hour air conditioned sports bar best known for their 99 baht breakfast although they are constantly busy and have opened another branch recently nearby.

All to say, why can't other restaurants (Thai or foreign) just copy these 2 business models as closely as possible? Seems a no brainer.

  7. Back to floor 3 again today and merchants are moving out. The shutters are open while their display cases lie empty or have been removed entirely. It's pure speculation if and when those units will have tenants. My photos are very representative of what floor 3 looks like pretty much all day. Tuk Com south Pattaya is hustle and bustle from open to close.

Pattaya's only Hawaiian restaurant is dead and the owner's wife told me they will be closing at the end of the month. I guess she means June 2016.

  8. They could have walked across the road and waited (which could have taken longer then 20 minutes) for a Baht Bus coming down from Sukhumvit which would costs approx 10 THB each and which would have dropped them off on Beach Road

As sukhumvit has their own white baht buses (amongst other colors), the likelihood of a baht bus coming down from sukhumvit happens seldom and even more seldom in either direction of north Pattaya road at night. :(

The baht buses are really fantastic all day but just terrible at night.

  9. In this case what the campaign says, "Do this and expect to be absolutely f*****g sh*****d. We've been told from above, so your contacts won't help you on this one. This is like Mobutu before the Ali-Foreman fight. The big guys are involved, it's an international embarrassment and the 3,000 baht that would normally save you won't even pay for the bandages".

    Or words to that effect.

So correct. Punishment has to more severe. I think hand amputations would change so much over night.
