Always remember you cannot change Thailand. Whatever you think is madness is how they've been doing it forever.

Example: Hundreds of Thai people die each Songkran week. Then it is never spoken about again until the following year.

Save your breath and mental energy for other things because nothing will ever change here against your wishes. The only time you can force change is with multi nationals and going up the chain of command with your complaints.

When the Pattaya casinos are all setup, I wonder if Pattaya taxis will be free shuttles like Macau or the scam meter taxis for the clueless Chinese high rollers or will people walk from casino to casino like Vegas? It's going to happen. Just ask the condo property developers and the owners of Terminal 21.

I like to imagine what the city may look like if taxi drivers were given incentives for being crime busters. Say 50% of the cache. Having said that, they will probably demand 50% or more to release the perp. Corruption works in many ways...

I'm in the "there's going to be increased traffic for this event like every other event every year" camp.

Given we know it's coming, I can choose to immerse myself in it or avoid it altogether and not think about it. I'm leaning towards the latter. Mai pen rai.
