  1. Energy is the largest contributor to inflation, and the so called energy transition is not coming faster than they are killing off the oil industry. Hedge yourself against higher costs by buying beaten down oil stocks.
  2. Perhaps it was the hopes and dreams of those oppressed souls in Myanmar praying for an end to the violence and military rule.
  3. If these numbers are true, 'Awesome job Thailand!' Nice to see such a fantastic improvement. I just hope they didn't change the reporting criteria in stupid ways like only to include those fatalities that died on impact.
  4. I think they meant 'Park Smart' program. Thai's don't park cars, they abandon them.
  5. Probably got to keep the reward money.
  6. Be careful what you wish for. Without the fake smiles, fake breasts, and fake love, it wouldn't be such a fantasy dreamland anymore.
  7. Another site has odds of them being back online in 7 days at 2:1.
  8. We know war is hell, for both sides. I want to be able to see the facts, the views, and the propaganda from all points of view. Only then can I make my own conclusions.
  9. Any move to provide views from all sides is important. The truth is the first casualty in war.
  10. I am amazed at all the wasted spending here. Perfectly good main roads being ripped up and repaved, while feeder roads are full of gravel and potholes. Massive sidewalk projects like those above go from nowhere to nowhere, unused, as the jungle takes it back. Meanwhile residents must navigate broken sidewalk footpaths in every town, with jagged steel, wires, holes and broken concrete, filling hospitals with twisted ankles, and broken bones of those brave enough to try to pass. The 'Build it and forget it' mentality provides no budget for maintenance after completion, so these projects degrade and become a monument to the excess of the civilization, like the pyramids in Egypt. Who is ever held accountable for these massive fiscal wastes and resources? As costs of energy and materials is about to skyrocket, these blunders will become even more costly to the people of Thailand, as basic needs go unaddressed.
  11. Robs a gold shop and escapes to live out a good life in Myanmar? Not the sharpest knife in the drawer. In 2 months, he will be back to turn himself in.
  12. Just start making noises like you were throwing up in the rear seat.
  13. It seems there are few places to go for mental illness treatment here. Either people are left untreated, free in society, or in jail. Not many options in between. I am sure many of them are driving that pickup coming at me in my lane.
  14. All having backpacks full of cash, spending billions of baht like the millionaires they are. Tourism is saved!
  15. You know it is dangerous when you can't drive a motorcycle on the sidewalk without getting hit by a car.
  16. 'Just go buy an electric car' is the modern equivalent of 'Let them eat cake'. Seen somewhere:
  17. Next time he partakes in the magic flower, he should remove his clothing if he wants to be invisible. It is a dead giveaway. It must be true, as I constantly see hats and shirts lying on the roadways, but never any people around.
  18. Like my friend recently experienced, you may also be taken to a 10 day hospital incarceration even if you did not test 'Positive'. If your test was performed in a dirty parking lot, by some dude that didn't change his gloves all day from person to person, and vanload to vanload, and it comes back later as not 'Positive, not 'Negative', but 'Trace Detected', you will be taken away. You have no symptoms. Your insurance won't cover it because you don't have Covid. You can't retest. You are trapped with all the others, their screams heard down the halls of the ward for 10 days. There is no internet. At least arrive with a smartphone with a good data package, and have easy access to a few hundred thousand baht to pay your bill to get out. Otherwise, like my friend, you may be threatened on the hospital phone in his room by someone who identified themselves as the immigration police that upon the conclusion of the 10 days , the next move may be to spend some time in jail, then taken to the airport and put on the next plane being blacklisted for life. For tourists, it will most likely be their last trip to Thailand. Ever. For us expats, it is just another inconvenience, indicative of the way we are treated while living here in paradise.
