  1. For decades, Walking Street bars have enabled miles of pipe to be buried, nightly, 6" at a time. Wires should be easy.
  2. Other online sites have the odds of some of the goods going missing at 500:1
  3. To save energy, why not just offer a national tax credit promotion for those that rent hotel rooms by the hour instead, say 9PM to midnight? It gets people out of the bar early, the lights are dim, and they don't stay that long.
  4. To be fair, the identical reciprocating policy should apply for Thais owning land or property in other countries. If a Thai can't buy land in China, then Chinese can't buy land in Thailand. If a Canadian can't buy land in Thailand, then a Thai can't buy land in Canada, and so on. Problem solved.
  5. Not really the same thing... In the Metaverse, you don't have any immigration or visa hassle, get ripped off by TukTuk and taxi drivers, sprain your ankle on broken sidewalk, get electrocuted by low hanging live wires, get run over on zebra crossings, or suffer the stench of sewer gas.
  6. One would think cooking it ensures it would be safe for consumption and then given it to the poor. That might even ensure a lot more local tip offs for smuggled pork.
  7. Well, it would be too common to go out dressed as Hitler with all the Hitler T-shirts and swastika stuff sold at most markets here in Thailand. Funny how some things strike sensitive nerves here and other things don't.
  8. EV batteries are unique, vehicle specific, and many times more costly to replace at the dealer compared to stationary batteries. I would not want to have an EV plugged in and charged and discharged repeatedly without a very very large cash incentive.
  9. Pretty dark to advertise vehicle insurance on this news item. Never miss a good opportunity...
  10. Thailand is absolutely wonderful, but never make the mistake thinking you are in a free country like back home. You leave behind your basic human rights to privacy, equality, and freedom of speech when you got on that plane.
  11. No problem. All forgiven here after a few wais. At the very least, he should be forced to play in leg irons with a 6" chain.
  12. Perhaps he just wanted to hang out for a while.
  13. Got Covid now, caught it a week ago, finally, after all this time. It is like a cold for me, upper chest mainly. Fever for 2 days, then becomes just an annoyance keeping you isolated at home. I had my Pfizer dose number 4 only two weeks prior. It does not keep you from getting Covid, but it keeps you from getting deathly ill. I'm still very glad I did.
  14. I think TAT is missing out on a great promotional opportunity for extreme tourists here. 'Blading in Bangkok' could rival 'Running with the Bulls' in Pampalona.
  15. Wow... I see the nearest one is now only 180 kms south from here in Chiang Rai. Clearly this energy transition is not going so well as we are led to believe.
  16. How are we even hearing about this if true? The first rule of fight club...
  17. A Go Fund Me page has been set up so they could buy an anchor.
  18. Those in charge in Jomtien and Pattaya that decided to cut all the big tall native beach shade trees and replace them with coconut palms to fit the tourism script must be held accountable as well.
  19. 50,000 baht for 10 years, is only 5000 per year. No more 90 day reports, no more reentry permits. 80,000 proof of income threshold is one time upon application if I read it right. No more hassle at immigration every year to renew, only renew at 5 years. Otherwise it wouldn't be a long term visa, would it. For those with the income, and the cash in the bank here anyway, it is appealing. Keeping 100,000US in the bank avoids the health insurance requirement as well. For myself, it makes good sense, I check all the boxes already, and I am very interested.
