No restrictions have been put in place during Songkran and even now when things have clearly escalated, the very little they are doing to prevent the spread is a joke.

And then, they come out and say: let's wait and see how it goes in a few days or so, but let's not do anything in the meantime... And then, you have the PM clown doing his daily speeches saying everything is under control and that he is confident the economy will skyrocket again. And then, you have TAT coming up every now and then with the most ridiculous schemes and figures that make no sense whatsoever, like half the world will visit Thailand this year, or better next month when the virus has disappeared and we have a 150% growth in the economy!

We officially have a full circus in effect!

Don’t seem to understand other people. When they get the bad news about the restrictions, they complain can’t go to the bar, can’t drink, can’t go play in Pattaya. When the government does not impose further restrictions, they complain they aren’t doing enough. ????

  2. I think the location you are in is not the ideal place to be looking for love. The ladies in Pattaya are there for one reason only and that is to make money. If love spawns between a customer and a bar girl, there will always be that money factor no matter what. But let’s say you live in a regular non tourist city then the answer is “yes” you can find real love in the definition of money not being a deciding factor.

  3. I went to Sukhumvit yesterday and I hate to say it but he’s right. I’m a lawyer and I dress in a suit everyday. I wear a mask when out in public, carry a bottle of hand sanitizer with me, and wash my hands I don’t know how many times in one day. What I saw was that 90% of the foreigners were wearing flip flops and cargo shorts, looked like they had been drinking and hung over from the previous night, and their clothes looked like they had never been cleaned or ironed. If I ever ride the BTS, which is quite rare, I often end up beside another foreigner and I can’t stand the smell of their BO. So, during this horrible epidemic, what would you think if you were him?

  4. Why on earth are you posting this nonsense? If you get sick, go to the hospital, get treated, and the doctor will prescribe the correct medicine and treatment. If you think the Thai hospitals, doctors, and Thailand environment are not good enough for you, then excise your rights to leave the country to a better place. Self treatment of this virus is stupid and not fair for the rest of the public and people around you. Think about it!

  5. Just like Chinese nationals. You get a letter from your embassy and then go to immigration and file for an extension of stay based on your travel plans being disrupted by the corona virus. 1,900 baht and there should not be anY over stay. You will also need proof your flight was canceled or other proof you can’t go back to your home country.

  6. For redundancy, you

must follow the normal guidelines for severance pay.

Employees with more than 120 days, but less than one year employment are entitled to severance pay equal to one month's salary.

If employed more than one year, but less than three years, employees are entitled to severance pay equal to three months' salary.

If employed more than three years, but less than six years, employees are entitled to severance pay equal to six months' salary.

If employed more than six years, but less than ten years, employees are entitled to severance pay equal to eight months' salary.

If employed more than ten years, employees are entitled to severance pay equal to ten months' salary.

This does not apply to non-profit organizations unless they promise severance in their HR policy or the employee contract.

The issue here is whether or not the employee can sue for wrongful termination. As per a Supreme Court ruling decision number 1808-BE2557 in Thailand, redundancy must be something that the employer has to prove by giving notice to employees that the company will be undergoing a restructuring on multiple occasions, and must be able to prove that this is necessary to improve the company. In short. Therefore, if the position redundancy happens suddenly with no warning and there was no documented employee performance issues, you can sue and will most likely win. Hope that helps.

  7. Today, Friday February 18, counter K is a mad bourse. There are hundreds of Chinese who are extending their visa on arrival stamps due to the corona virus. Thailand is giving these extensions due to the Coronavirus as most of their flights are cancelled or they don’t wish to go back home. I was

number 379 when I arrived at 9:30am. Thank god I caught sight of one of the officers I know and he arranged fast lane for me otherwise I would still be there tonight. He mentioned that they have been working till midnight everyday due to this. Me thinks this post might just be suspect as the officer stated it has been like this all this week and last week at counter K. Hmmmm

Get out of bed on the wrong side, did we ?

The difference between me and you is I got out of bed on the wrong side In country that I like. You on the other hand, get out on the wrong side of the bed everyday in a country that you probably hate. So better move your bed back to your home country the same as Nick

What you wrote in the first line of your post certainly implied it.

Really? Perhaps you need to read a little closer. I said you will be dinged ( this means given the overstay) with the overstay, I never mentioned the fine being waived. Today's climate means, with all the recent turn of events plus all the bombings. Understand? This is also my opinion and an educated one at that. Please don't get offended. Cheers!
