    Bit strange though, don'cha think?

Ya know Chiang Mai, Udon, Ubon, back to Chang Rai, all being investigated for unusual wealth.

Yet, in Surat Thani, one of Thailand's  most famous, most influential and WEALTHY politicians, never gets a look in. Strange that. Innit.

Nor strange at all, unless you are accusing him of something.  Maybe he has justified his assets and the sources and nothing amiss was found?  It does happen.

However a major contributing factor in these events is the outrageous speed on the highways....they come up like a bat out of hell, just as in this case.

What exactly was the "outrageous speed" he was travelling at?  What is the speed limit at that point?

he is as equally at fault as is the BMW driver who was travelling at what appeared to be warp speed...the BMW driver was on his way home, so he knows the road and the black spot, who in their right mind would travel that fast being fully aware of the spot

I drive, I stick to the speed limit, I know where black spots are on long stretches, and have never had to apply my the brakes because I know when to slow down to avoid such accidents,

The BMW was going at "warp speed"?  I know that is a figure of speech but using it that way suggests that you know he was travelling excessively fast, how do you know that?

You must be the worlds most marvelous driver if you never have to apply the brakes in your car.  Congratulations.

When you strangle someone and they stop struggling, what conclusions are you supposed to draw, other than that they are dead?

That suddenly, while fighting for her life, she decided to take a quick nap? Got a high reading on the BS meter for that excuse.

What does it matter what she thought (maybe she's not as bright as you), she turned herself in, didn't she?

I was under the impression that cops had to buy their own uniform, equipment and bike etc.

If that is the case and 19,000 motor bikes have been purchased, and then presumably sold, 19,000X 40,000(Average sale price) = 760,000,000 Baht!

Yes, I think they have some serious explaining to do.

Don't expect any prosecutions though, just redistribution of the wealth.

Police officers do not have to pay for official police vehicles.

There was no suggestion that these bikes had all been sold on to benefit the accused by 3/4bn baht.

Look at the picture.......... the point of impact was before where the body is now. You will see a circle of blood where she was hit and then dragged forward to where the body is now.

It seems she was hit in full view of the driver.

    Am I overthinking this???

Yes, you probably are.  The 2nd picture in the link shows shadows and darker patches on the ground, not necessarily a pool of blood, definitely not an obvious point of impact and no dragging evidence is really any more obvious than what could just be tyre marks in the soft ground on the left.

Unless the rescue personnel and police are concentrating their efforts on the victims feet, then she is lying on the ground with her head (which is what took the impact, apparently) near the traffic, not near the marks in the soft ground.

Something wonky with the site.  Getting error screens and my comment above, double posted on its own.  Weird.

Yes, I'm getting the same message.  Happens also when the "Like" button is clicked.  Admin are you there?

Roger that!  Yup, there are 7 blocks of it in my freezer now.  Woo Hoo!

I tried rogering it also but it melted away far too quickly.

Off topic note but on the way home, stopped in the Robinson's/Tops in Saraburi on the AH2 - been meaning to do that for 4 years!  They had Kerry's Irish Butter, unsalted and salted, 115 Baht.  Never seen it anywhere in Thailand that I can recall.  FYI if you like Kerry's.

Tops, Sukhumvit 19 has it also, as does my fridge now, so presumably all the Tops will stock it.

Sorry to disagree with you- but nearly all the body shops in Ameerica are high tech- there are very few low tech shops- I should know- it was part of my job to visit them.

There is no comparison with quality and time of repair between Thailand and America. Thai shops are very labor dependent mostly because the high tech pain machines and lasers are very costly.  To set up a high tech body shop in Ameerica takes a minimum investment of $2 Million not including the physical plant and the labor.  Labor in Thailand is cheap that is why it takes so much time to get your car repaired. Just the opposite in America.

If you do not want to believe these facts that is your choice.

Your facts about Thai body shops as a generalisation are just plain wrong.  And, I don't know for sure but, I don't believe that there are very few low tech, i.e. back street body shops in the US.

I worked for auto insurance claims for 15 years so I have seen my share of American body shops- most of them are high tech using computers to mix paints; using lasers to repair frames and with technicians that average a salary of $70.000 per year. They are fast; they are great quality and have a huge customer base/

In Thailand- it is just the opposite. Most of the repair shops are low tech dependent upon labor to do the jobs that machines can do much faster.

    Hardly nonsense.....simply facts/

The thing is, those are not facts that you stated about Thailand.  Most of the body shops used by insurers are high tech using computers to mix paints, using lasers to repair frames and with knowledgeable technicians, the salaries being irrelevant to western wages. They are fast, they are great quality and have a huge customer base.  Not all, but most.

In the west many of the repair shops are low tech dependent upon labour to do the jobs that machines can do much faster. Not all, but many.  Those are facts

Thai repair shops take 5 times as long to repair cars as any Western Body Shop because the longer they drag it out the more they are paid where just the opposite is true in America or Europe. In addition, everything is done by hand. Watch out for the quality- very poor in Thailand.

As a generalisation, more nonsense.  Body repair outfits in the west are all A1, are they?

I'd like to know how Khun Leonard found himself owing money to someone who uses unorthodox collection methods? It does not look like some random extortion ... like a boiler room operation targeting an innocent victim.

Do boiler rooms extort victims face to face?  I always thought that they did it nicely on the phone so that victims didn't know they were being defrauded at the time.

Napapa said she had been dating Akarakit for a little over a year before they got married, so she couldn’t possibly know everything about his life and had no knowledge of the purchase and payment for the Lamborghini.

My wife drives a 4 million baht Porsche Carrera that she bought 2 years ago. I didn`t know until I saw it parked in our garage last week. Well, can`t be expected to know everything about our spouses, can we? :stoner:

The Lambo wasn't parked at their house.
