Thanks for the info. Its helps us make decisions..
One more thing. As all good tourists do, he purchased a nice new camera on arrival and plans to get a VAT refund on exit. He has the VAT Refund papers from the shop.
We know that he can only obtain this when flying out from DM or BKK airport...My question is, leaving and returning via land border before he flies out make any difference to the VAT Refund process?- 1

My best mate from NZ (NZ passport)just arrived in Bkk. He was expecting(and asked IO at the AP) a 60 day Tourist stamp on arrival. However only issued a 30 day, he did ask but IO said no with no reason...
He's looking to stay the maximum time allowed, 90 days.
Correct me if im wrong please; from my experience he has 2 options:
Go up to Lak Si Immigration and request/ pay for the 60 day stamp at the end of his 30 day stint or Fly out and in again in the hopes of getting the 60 day on arrival?

Sorry bit of confusion on my part....
My Bangkok employer has ended my current work permit on the 28th Feb, my new employer in Phuket starts March 1st, (I need to be at phuket immigration 9am March 1st)
Basically I'm wanting to know if I need to leave the country and enter again on a different visa, or if I get the 7 days to get to phuket and start the new work permit.

I'm in a same, similar position. Sorry to hijack this thread...
Can someone say if you are granted 7 days to leave the country after your work permit is nullified?

I am not sure if we will breed, I wouldn't want to unless we had homes for the pups. Where are you located?
At the moment working in Bkk. But i am planning on moving South to some open land at the end of the year. Hence doing some homework and preparation before hand. I'd only want 1 for sure.

Greetings, just came across your thread. I know its quite a while later but, i would be most interested if a pup were to be available sometime this year?

Anyone have good info on solo camping in Thailand?
Either within the national parks or any where else that can be suggested?
I'd like to hike somewhere remote/ quiet and camp away from people. Is that even possible in Thailand?
I am looking to spend a few days away in the bush walking, hiking some trails and setting up camp somewhere along the way. Preferably mountainous/ river/ ravine.
(If there are any real campers in here please drop a PM if you prefer not to say out in the open)- 1

something to consider if your company "may" let you go it may be a reach to think they will give you the needed documents that are required from the company. These documents are ussual highly confidential. BOI companies do not need to show some of these documents for annual renewal so you may get a big NO from the company.
I'll be meeting with the big man from the company this week to discuss. Hopefully he will assist me with the tax doc requirements.

Read carefully.
It is already understood that the OP is close to the 3 consecutive yearly extensions mark.He specifically asked if met the requirements,
and obviously, he needs to meet all the requirements, an 80k THB pm monthly salary also being one of them.
Thanks for the replies all.
I did not see any mention about there being a minimum salary requirement for the application, no where in the app does it mention this. Is this said somewhere else? Currently my salary is below the 80k mark...

Hi all, looking to get some info in regards to residency in Thailand.
I have been working in Bangkok for almost 3 years consecutively at the same company(BOI listed) on a British passport. I have a NON IMM Multiple Entry WP. due to expire in August this year.
I am not 100% sure if I will be kept on at the job due to this covid situation, its 50/50 at the moment. (I'm looking at options for me to stay here legally)
I am unmarried, however plan to marry sometime later.
My question is, am i able to apply for residency any time soon? I've heard its after 3 consecutive years on a WP...
Do I meet the requirements, or what are the requirements for me to qualify?
Also, due to the company i work for being registered BOI, is my office able to apply and do anything for me from there end?
Thanks in advance.

Greetings all, looking for a bit of advice please.
I need to apply for a Non-B on a British Passport. My employer has agreed to get me a work permit.
Im currently in Bangkok on a different passport from another country (dual Nationality)on a 30 day TV. If i am correct I need to leave TH and re-enter on the British(preferred) with the Non-B.
Can you suggest which of the SG or KL embassies would be the most convenient/ easiest to get it from?
And any other advice on obtaining the Non-B if you have.
Many thanks!

Thanks again.

Thanks guys, very insightful.
@ubonjoe Just to be clear, you're saying that i should enter with my 30 day stamp and apply for a 60 day extension at Chaeng Wattana?
-
Thanks for the info.
My passport is not from a G7. I have been given 30 days previously in the same passport but at SVRMBI ...I got 14 days because i came in over a land border? Surely not? Whats the bloody difference!
How easily would i be able to get a 90 day extension from Chaeng Wattana after my next entry stamp?
-
I have been reading all the recent posts about the clamp down at Poipet and other Imm Offices. I have a quick story and question.
I recently did a Border run to PP. I did not realize till i was back in Bkk that Immigration only gave me 14 days on my entry stamp. I then had to do the trip to Chaeng Wattana for a 30day extension. No issues or complaints from the IO, I did ask why I only got 2 weeks from the PP IO and she had nothing to say about it.
I have visited Bangkok a twice before within this year on 30 day tourist stamps, both via Suvanarbhumi.
So, now I have to exit on the 5th of Dec. I am planning on staying with Mom and Dad (who work in Bkk)for Christmas. My question is, do i risk another PP Border run, or fly out of SVRMBI to a neighboring country? Im anxious in both cases because im worried I will only get given another 2 weeks... If so is it likely going to cause me issues at Chaeng Wattana going for another extension??
Any advice would be appreciated!

I guess i was not clear with my question. Lets try again.
Will leaving the country (land border)before the 60 day limit on the VAT refund make any difference to the VAT refund claim?
