Only Sinovac on offer here in Chiang Mai with a promise of AZ coming in a couple of weeks for the second jab. No response from Expatvac yet i.e. no sign of Pfizer

Dtac and True have Android apps that allow you to receive SMS messages via WiFi in your home country. Maybe the other networks have a similar option..

As they are only offering Sinovac with a promise of AZ in 3 weeks I will not turn up for my appointment tomorrow as this is no good for anyone who needs to travel in the future. I've now signed up for Expatvac as they are meant to be distributing the donated Pfizer vaccines. I will put money on the fact that AZ won't be available in 3 weeks in this location given the chaotic roll out here...

Have the consular team considered the impact of the Thai vaccination program that has now decided against WHO guidance to mix Sinovac (first jab) with Astrazeneca (second jab)? Surely this change needs the British government to take over responsibility to ensure their expats are sufficiently protected as the Thai program has diverted from a validated roadmap.

They are there today; saw them this morning.
Yes, but now it's only for those with Yellow books/ Pink cards. Not passports only..

Eh??? I too was at Hang Dong and it was supremely efficient. Have my appointment for Astra vaccine booked for 7 July at 3pm Bangkok Hospital. Loads of other people queued quietly and in an orderly manner and achieved a result. Goodness knows where you were. Certainly not at the same place. BIG C Hang Dong. It worked well.
Did they specifically say you would be getting the AZ vaccine? I am holding off registering so as to avoid Sinovac as this is not a WHO approved vaccine and will cause problems when travelling in the future..

On the Benefits-side of your statement, no, they don't.
But most people in the UK don't swallow the MSM nonsense anymore. The money they freely give illegals isn't technically called 'benefits' but you can't ignore it in the big scheme of things. The point I am making is that UK expat pensioners should not be denied cost of living rises if money is freely available to chancers who have not contributed. The UK is waking up to the fact that most are chancers having crossed through safe countries on their way to the land of milk and honey. So you don't think the pensioners should be considered above other cases on the UK money tree...

Over 3 years out of the country no vote, over 5 years of living & working overseas, no Universal pension payments. On your return 2 years after pension reinstated.
The "Nanny State" has to end
But enter the UK illegally on a dingy and you get benefits from day 1 and a vote once the pantomime to remove you is over...

So when trying to buy online the final question is:
"Has the person to be insured travelled to or from affected areas of COVID-19 during last 2 weeks?"
You are then informed if 'yes' then the person is not eligible for insurance...
Most of us have travelled in affected areas during the last 2 weeks over here....

I tried it as True also give you a free Android box to receive it on your TV ( well free as in 50 baht per month which you get reimbursed as 50 baht in true points per month). You need the box to chromecast from your phone as normal chromecast appears to be locked out in True visions. The streaming quality is only 720p and the box is a bit slow but 299 baht is cheap. I had problems with the time shift function and so I've reverted back to an IPTV provider in the end...

Check out the English language reviews on YouTube (they are from the Philippines). The fact that it's a hybrid and a Toyota plus better looking than alternatives have made up my mind. Apparently there is a 4 month delay due to battery supply that is stopping me from ordering one...

How is the issue showing itself? eg Lights on router, logs on router, speed test app on PC, etc

Folks, my Bangkok bank union pay debit card has started working in contactless mode in Thailand!
I can now perform contactless transactions in BigC and Shell fuel stations for starters. Hopefully it will work in 7-11 now that they have removed the minimum spend limit. Thailand is finally moving into the 21st century..

The monitors get turned off in Chiang Mai when they go very high to 'save face' and the authorities just bury their heads in the sand. Nothing will change...

I'm also considering buying one. There are now some YouTube reviews in English as the car has been launched in the Philippines and they are positive. The car is very quiet driving in the city but noisy at speed on highways, this seems to be the only negative I can see...

People assuming the bike was speeding.... we all know that the U turning lorries here don't stop for bikes and my money would be on this probability...

My bathroom odour problem (Condo) was from the floor drain that appears to be fitted in most Thai installations. I have cured it with an inline stainless steel trap from Lazada (370 baht):

You will be better off using an IPTV service, the BBC have worked out how to detect and block VPNs accessing iPlayer. You will also have access to more premium TV services too.

Be wary of Bangkok banks debit card that is as useless as a chocolate teapot. K bank looks more progressive and in touch with Western banking..

The big manufacturers need to switch on to producing EVs before they are left behind in the race. The Chinese are way ahead in the game and will take market share in the future...

The Bangkok bank debit card doesn't work despite having a contactless symbol. They told me 'only outside Thailand' when asked. Idiots! I'm seriously thinking of changing banks as it's also not compatible with Samsung Pay that appears to be the most widely workable contactless payment method in Thailand...

If you can't install UK apps check the settings in Google play store. In account settings you will see a country setting. This is probably set incorrectly to Thailand. Reset this to the UK...

Second hand cars are expensive here and a risk to buy seeing how the locals drive. You should be researching the car review websites e.g. Whatcar (UK) to get some idea if the car is a dog or not. Sadly the tax situation removes options like German or Korean cars being viable here..
Have you had a vaccine yet?

Me too in Chiang Mai... We used to get regular updates about the progress via Facebook but now it's gone very quiet..
