  1. On-line applications in Thailand have been iffy at best.
  2. Sounds a lot like, “You shouldn’t suspend my drivers license for speeding. Everybody does it.”
  3. So some hotels might lose their privileges? That’s not a solution. That leaves more travelers stranded. How about daily fines instead as a first step?
  4. Thailand purchased online lottery equipment under Thaksin’s regime. Installation and training took place. The project was stopped during the coup against him. The central system probably still resides at Lottery headquarters. Many countries require hand-held machines for the handicapped/disabled to be able to continue to sell. Online is more easily managed. (Most lotteries operate a system as a separate entity, not part of a government network to ensure security.)
  5. “Other findings show 13.42% support Move Forward party leader Pita, citing his vision, concern for the youngergeneration, his straightforwardness and working style. 12.67% chose Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, citing his honesty, his government’s practical policies to help the people and his capability to restore peace in the country.” Seriously? Taken the lead? Again with the numbers. Less than one percentage point separates them. And more importantly, they represent only 25% of the total votes between them. And let’s not forget the +/- 3 point margin of error. So Prayut could be up by 2 points. I’ve grown tired of polls.
  6. Did they also test for Covid? Shouldn’t there be info about testing for the virus if the raid of a place is because people were flaunting the Covid decree?
  7. That’s over 60 projects. I would be somewhat skeptical. If the success of past projects is an indicator, there will be a lot of money spent with little to show. Examples abound from the Helmet Law, to indoor smoking or pedestrian crossing lights.
  8. Wow, the neighbor declined to give their name. Why the need to include that in the story?
  9. “The Constitution disqualifies any MP who is sentenced by a court to imprisonment.” A court? Any court? Or just a Thai court?
  10. How about the fat legged guy who scammed funds in Bangkok to squander in Pattaya? And Pattaya had its own Farang beggars for a time.
  11. And long-term effects of vaccines that have only been in use a little over a year?
  12. I hope AFF does some retroactive punishment for the Vietnamese player that writhed on the ground near the end trying to get a penalty call. As replays showed, he was never touched. He almost started a massive brawl.
  13. One news show says the USSec. Of State’s visit may be postponed. That should go over well. (Edit: An article here says it was canceled.)
  14. They quote the victim as saying the attacker prefers she/her. Really? Not likely.
  15. If it’s too long, scroll or take your ADD meds. I like the recaps. And this year, Pfizer received indemnification for the vaccine, so they can’t be sued if/when the fan goes into turbo mode. And as for Pfizer CEO, his compensation this year was $21-million USD! That’s ฿630-million!
  16. I have no expertise but lots of questions. If Omicron is a derivative of Alpha and Beta, will we be getting a new strain as a derivative of Delta and Omicron? And on and on…Thank you Bratet Jin!
  17. Years ago someone told me it was to stop students buying alcohol after school. I offer no opinion. ????
  18. I don’t have a subscription. The link took me right to the article.
