Hi. The landlord planted a palm tree about a meter away from my disk. it is not directly in front of it but is in range of the disc. Then about five meters away there is some new shrubery. My ES number went from about 10+ to 8.5.

Or is it just CSLOXINFO/IPSTAR? the clouds are gone now but still low signal strength.

It really seems to me that you've been ripped off by a very indelicate technician.

Celerons are very significantly slower, although this may not be that much noticeable when doing ordinary office work.

It does show up in e.g. games though.

One of my former notebooks had a 2.6Ghz Celeron desktop CPU. I've replaced it by a 2.4 Ghz P4 and all benchmarks as well as my observation revealed a significant performance gain.

Unfortunately I don't think there's any way to find out when the CPU switch has taken place from the Windows event log.

Switching CPUs between P4 and Celeron requires no Windows tweaking or even less reinstallation.

The HAL layer is the same for all single-core CPUs AFAIK.

Hi. The reason I keep going to meetings is so its not a struggle. I dont go to meetings to stay sober I go so I dont want to drink and use. If it was a daily struggle not to drink I would have drank by now and every day in between would be miserable.

Give yourself your break, there seems to be a few AA people in this forum. Find one who lives in your city (im assuming your in BKK?)and meet up and go to a meeting together. Or call the hotline number on teh website. YOu dont have to walk in alone,

Nothing but a bunch of ex-drunks anyways, surely the majority have tried the will power - I will not go to AA- way.

YOu know you dont have to do that walk home alone by the liquer store everynight.

In AA the obession to drink can be lifted. Imagine the freedom?

You dont have to believe in God, you dont have to be sober to show up a meeting, you dont have stay for the whole meeting and you dont even have to stop drinking!

I got sober in Bangkok and Ill celebrate 5 years on Saturday.

Thanks for the tips. By the way I have learned the hard way to save my book marks. I usually just go to ..manage bookmarks .>>> Export >> and save as an html. Easy to edit them with an editor as well.

Mozilla memorry usage increases and increases by the minute. I changed the about:config (something like that) weeks ago but it really seems to slow down my computer. What can I do ? I heard about "memory leaks" , how can i fix this in a not to complicated way?

What is a normal amount of memory usage?

Have you had an operating system change along the way ? If not I would think it unlikely that someone has switched processors on you. Someone may correct me, but my understanding is that you can't change processor type without changing or at least re-installing the operating system. The HAL in the OS is the interface between the OS and the hardware. If you change the CPU you have to change the HAL. This can be problematic. So, if I were trying to rip you off, this is not the scam I would choose.

Well when the hard drives have been replaced windows xp os got upgraded to XP PRO...

So since the hard drive was replaced the os was reinstalled.

I think I remember during boot up it said pentium 4, and all of a sudden I noticed it said celeron. The sticker on my laptop says pentiu 4. I just want to know how i can find out the date that the celeron or any processor was installed?

At this point I am pretty sure it has been changed. Funny recently my work had a printer problem and the cartridges came back empty from the same place. I hope it is not them because before all this I was quite happy with the shop. This is why I would like to know which shop=which date.

Who dupped me? I looked up the modified date of the driver and it was dated before i bought the computer. How can I find out if it was changed?

You're coming at the wrong time of year for diving and beaches.

Diving to the Similans (the ultimate dive experience) doesn't start until November.

Beaches will have rough seas and the currents and under-tows make it too dangerous to swim. All the beaches will have red flags in September.

THere are some liveaboard boats that start mid-october, I just saw a 6 day oen starting october 17th.. The seas are a bit choppy, and the sky might not be to clear but the vis is good and at least there are not to many boats or divers. PM me and I can mention a few companies.

THere are red flags all over the beaches now, however you could always take a surf lesson!

My neighbor uses a dell notebook and he uses Explorer. But for some sights he gets redirected to the "page not found". Very strange. For example Capitalone HOmepage works but he can not acess the log in page. I have played around with his settings, lowering the level of security, adding it to the allow sites..

Even trying to update AVG is not possible straight from the software.

I installed Firefox but that wont acess ANY pages.

I know in my pc i have a windows firewall icon and there I can add program exceptions, like Firefox, Bit Comet.

However, Strangely, he does not have the Firwall icon in his control panel, nor could i find acess to these settings.

I think it is all the dell crap on his computer.

Also I have tried to uninstall Norton as I thought that may be the problem. I disabled the script blocking, and as much as I could but i get some strange message when trying to install. SHould i go through the reg edit?

We are acessing the net through my wireless but even directly from the cable he has the same problem and on other networks as well....

When I first moved into my house I had estimates from a few companies and had heard about this Singaporean internet provider. I called Island Technology and they sent a tech to my house to see how far I was from the main road I suppose. The tech could not answer my specific questions and when I tried to call or email John, the owner i got no reply.

The estimate was outrageous at 30,000, and that was just for installation of the leased line. I had another estimate and it was for 18,00o installation of course not this Singaporean provider.

I ended up wiht Ipstar which usually is fine.

Since then i have talked to other Thai professionals and have been told that this too is not possible without breaking the law. So either its illegal or its just not true. Mabye its just semantics. I was told that because IT is a farang company he just doubles his price. But im not saying this is true.. its just the speculation of a competitor.

My neighbor closer to the main road just had a leased line installed and split between 3 houses plus wireless routers for all 3 houses and it was 25,000 a month plus 5000 baht each for 256upload rate.

He used m2kwireless. The computer guy speaks almost perfect English, follows up , comes on time and had a fair price.

The zoo cant be that bad if it makes cash. The guy is filthy rich and it must be because he has a great zoo.

All zoo's get labelled by people and writers as being cruel etc. most of the things being said in the article have no proof behind it. Just stories.

There are far more other things in the world far worse then journalist writing up what they think about a zoo and thinking its gonna save the world.

But I guess there is always people complaiuning about something so who really cares.

Since when did owning a Zoo become a lucrativce business? I would think illegally exporting and breeding tigers would be more luctrative. Where are you from that you are so callous about a few dead tigers? There are many zoos in the world and not all of them receive this bad press.

It is no secret that peoples homes get broken into while they are sleeeping. it happened to somone I know who is not the hysterical type, nor blonde. He and his neighbor both had an intruder in their house at night WHILE THey were sleeping and a laptop was missing from the night stand next to the bed. So yes there are they strange stories about people being gased while sleeping then robbed. I persoally am not to worried or paranoid about it, just want to know if this is true.

I wonder if people are just so drunk and dont want to say that is what happeend?

Hi. I Have the 512/128 package. It was 4000 NOw its 3500. I share it with my neighbor. SO as long as we are not both on it, it is perfectly fine for P2P!!! My bill is consistant. There is no cap!!!

When I do have a problem and I email them they always call me too!! Amazing. (and the last time was my fault!!!) NOthing to do with them.

I get a statement and I get my bill both email and in the mail.

Sometimes my bandwith is high, sometimes low..

I used to hear about the gas stories on the train too, when i was a backpacker. But I still find it so far hard to belive that these thieves , (probably not to sophisticated) have some how gotten some gas , gas the residents of the house, and do not get affected to much by the gas themselves, burglarize the house and have not been caught?

I am still skeptical about the gas thing. I find it easier to belive that some how they know the people are passed out drunk.

I have also heard about peoples dogs being poisoned.

I dont want to come off sounding paranoid either. IM not but just want to really know if this gas REALLY exist? Is there any solid evidence?

I also think that there are some precautions i can take as not to be a victim........... (like discussed on some of the other threads about wearing heavy jewlery etc).

I do like the idea of a mtion/sensor light but geting installed would be a mission.....
