  1. Hey all,

I have been using Skype now for a few years. I do overseas contacting in the Middle East. We use this for our conference calls. Never had problems with it. Also I use a GN Netcom 8110 USB for the adapter as well as the Netcom dual headset with mike. I too have a Motorolla (sp?) USB blue tooth connector that you can use with Skype also. Headsets seem to work the best but if you dont want to be tied down with a cord . . .

    Both work with SKYPE

  2. Hi All,

My wife and I are coming to Pattaya for a look/see in July.

Thinking of coming to live there on Retirement Visa.

Have been looking at various realty sites and seems you can buy a good house fully furnished 3 bedrroms/3 bathrooms for 3.5-5 Million Baht. We are not looking to live in mansions. Just nice comfortable home.

Lots of people say to us to rent for the first year to make sure this is what we want.

  3. gathering from all the messeges here . . .

I think I can safely say that my $1800.00/month retirement check will suffice for our living in Pattaya. We will buy our house with cash. only expense other than utilities and transport will be son's schooling at one of the Int'l schools in Pattaya and our trips back home. Also, have $200,000 in a well diversified Mutual Fund Portfolio. Medical Insurance through US Military and I hear tell from the VFW in Pattaya I can use this, as well as the military clinic in Bangkok. Am I on the mark here? Looking at getting the O-A visa here in the US before going to Thailand.

Another question for Americans out there in Pattaya. With the aftermath of 9/11 seems a bit hard to wire money if you are not in the States so I guess ATMs are the way to go. Also will banks take a certified bank draft or check?
