  1. Couldn't edit my post in Tapatalk.

I've decided to wait until anyone can confirm that the original Yamaha version will also fit other brand top boxes.

It does not, I went to two different box store,, both said I needed to drill 2-3 holes to mount a givi or a shad. I went with the shad with only two holes that needed to be dilled. On the plus side , I got the Yamaha rack for only 5,000 baht at original point of pick up as opposed to 6,000 now. No issues after the install. Rock solid.

  2. Ref the power outlet on the Xmax is this purely for charging a phone etc, will it power a mini air compressor? If not can you get an adapter that will allow you to do this?
I remember trying this on the Forza but it just blew the fuse.

The fuse blew.. hardwire it to a power outlet and adapter right to the batteryIMG_3876.JPGIMG_3883.JPGIMG_3887.JPGIMG_3894.JPG

  3. I would be interested in hearing any comparisons from those of you that have ridden or owned both the NMax and the XMax.

I presently own an NMax and I am considering trading up to the XMax.

When I get a chance , ill try to do a full comparison. Im 86kg and 178cm. At 3000km so far, In short the Xmax is not just an nmax with a lttle more power. He’s definitely the big brother. ,can cruise 130 no problem , max stock speed 145ish . Xmax has a more sporty seating position, and sits staight and much higher. Xmax filters through 90 % of Bangkok traffic. Excellent storage. Excellent response from the engine. Excellent Dashboard.

On the negative side .. i prefer the nmax seating position more and parking the xmax can be difficult here in Bangkok. I prefer the windshield to be... higher. And maybe new tires.. stock tires doesnt feel grippy at cornering... but.. its still new.

Front forks and rear suspension have been upgraded to yss after 1500km and tuned to my preference. She feels just fabulous. She has kept up with 650s and more. Riding position is very similiar to a versys 650 but the xmax is more straight up .Pillion riders will be riding much higher and wider.

Hope this helps. I certainly recommend test riding before getting one. I have no regrets.

  4. It should be sweet when you find that perfect balance point between front and rear suspension settings. :coffee1:
Don't let my 'eye candy' comment in any way detract from the far more magnitude of importance of your upgrades - they just add the additional benefit of increasing your scooter's already good looks. I too, will be doing the same upgrades as soon as I get my scooter. A perfect fitting seat is also an important factor to the rider in the overall quality of the scooter and the XMax and Forza 300 do have wide seats, IMO, though the XMax seat is visibly a couple of inches or so longer in length than the seat of the Forza 300.

How long did it take the mechanics to complete the work on your scooter?

About 2 hours., mostly for the front fork work .

  5. Thank you Ahnsahn. Kinds words brother. I didnt do it for the ‘eye candy’ but more for a better feel for comfort especially the front fork upgrade.
Same exhaust just an extra sticker.
I asked them to readjusted the front forks right away after the install because all I ride is Bangkok and I wanted a softer response ( obviously ) from all the uneveness from Bangkok streets.
I may have to play and continuously adjust the rebound on the g-sport rear shocksfor a bit until im satisfied with the different amount of daily wieght I put on her. Ill let you know.
If I change anything else.. itll be the seat.. if the ever come out with a lower / narrower seat that doesn’t compromise the interior 45Liter storage... oh and also a better more user friendly left hand controller with a better placed passing light.

  6. nice review Trikyle

do you know where is it possible to see the X300 in Yamaha shop in BKK ?

Thanks.. hoping it gives insight to those that are looking to purchase one. My dealer had said these are currently hard to come by. Even if he has one in stock that a pre order change thier mind it will be priced higher than 168,000. May i suggest joining and following the xmax club thailand page on facebook. All the dealers are on it and you post and ask there. Every once in a while a dealer or a member (that wants to sell his down payment receipt) will post one up. Good luck

  7. Very good comprehensive review! :clap2:
    You ticked all the boxes.
Question: How does 2up riding on the Nmax compare with 2up riding on the Xmax and the 2014 Honda PCX? Is the ride smoother? Is the handling better? Also in comparison, what would be the level of comfort of the pillion riding on the Nmax on a trip to Ayutthaya?

2 up riding on the Xmax is better.. heavier shocks.. but a little rough. Forget the PCX. And anyone riding long distance from Bangkok to Ayutthaya on the back pillion on the nmax would not be as comfortable as on the Xmax. It’s just a bigger better bike.

  8. Great idea: A review / comparison of your Nmax and Xmax 300 to the Forza 300 and the PCX 150 (as well as 300 class vs 150 class scooters in general) is exactly what is needed! For example, your statement: "The added weight and its low center of gravity of the Xmax makes it an ease", how does this compare to the Forza with its added weight and low center of gravity?  Also, how do they compare in filtering, handling, acceleration. What, if any, do differences in wheel size affect handling and performance? Would after market shocks improve the ride? Etc., etc.

Ok, im working on it. I have no Forza experience so I cant compare but I can certainly compare to my nmax.. wheel size definitely affects.. the Xmax handles almost like a smaller sports tourer...stay tuned ..

  9. You guys have quite a nice collection of scooters!

MRJ: No wonder you have that wind problem with that small windscreen, I thought the taller type windscreen was the standard.
Whoa, just noticed you added the Akrapovic! :clap2:

Trikyle: Would you describe the ride quality of your Nmax to be more 'stiffer' than that of your Xmax? Is that a pic of them delivering your Xmax off of the truck?

    Really nice looking 300s! :stoner:

Yep, that’s delivery day. I have 250 km so far.. and have been putting my thoughts on paper.. maybe I’ll put up a small review / comparison between the nmax and Xmax if guys are interested. To answer your question.. then Xmax is stiffer.. possibly because it’s new?.. lol... straight away filtering in Bangkok traffic is surprisingly easy (provided there’s enough room because the rear is fatter and slightly longer). The added weight and its low center of gravity of the Xmax makes its an ease.

  10.   Visited the Bitec Motor show yesterday.  The main reason for my trip was to see the Xmax.  I left disappointed along with many Thai's hanging around the same time I was there.  The bike looked great, but the seat is simply too high for most Thai's.  I watched a half dozen of them try to sit on the Xmax shaking their heads when their toes barely touched the ground... my wife included.  They also walked away frustrated.  The Xmax looks like a success for the limited  farang market but I believe they have seriously damaged their sales with the Thai market by releasing this bike with a seat higher than many larger displacement scooters.  Guess I'll wait a few months. I imagine there will be a few lower aftermarket seats available  by then.
Suzuki had the 650 Burgman imported from Japan.  Beautiful scooter (lower seat than Xmax) by I don't really want a 650 for running around town.  380,000 baht.

The Forza was nowhere to be scene.  I guess they are embarrassed as the Xmax looks like a much nicer 300 at the moment.

I’m 177 cm in height and if I’m sitting back on the seat , I tippy toe to the ground, which is fine by me, but for anyone shorter... it maybe a task. Aftermarket seats will help but I think it will cut down on the under seat storage that the Oem seat was design for...

  11. Congratulations on your new XMax 300 buy!!

They must be selling like 'hot cakes', (kowl pad), if they have sold about 500 scooters since MRJ bought his the other day! Do they provide an English version of the owners manual?

Thank you sir, ....Good question on the English manual ... not sure.. ill try to find out.. ( i doubt it though) but not worried.. just glad its sort of finally here..
Fyi.. its slightly taller even as my foot still touches the ground easily and its slightly longer than my nmax but definitely significantly wider.. might not be able to filter through as much with bangkok traffic but I had to get it.. it was simply irresistible [emoji30].
Never had a forza to compare it to but got a feeling its a better ride( just like the nmax over the pcx)
