About to bite the bullet for the 20 year option due to frequent and long stays in Thailand throughout the year.
My trips can be quite unexpected - do I still need to apply for a re-entry permit every time I leave the country?
Would equal about 10 re-entry permits per year if I have to get one each time.

Depends on the ultimate goal. This link shows the categories that should pretty much cover all sorts of visits but the end game of marriage, study and/or employment probably needs to be clear at the outset. I imagine the old "to see if it works out" sort of visitor is proscribed like most every other European country.
We have been together for 12 years and I had to leave Thailand about 2 months ago to work in the Netherlands. The ultimate goal is marriage of course.
We couldn't get married as I only got a 6 weeks notice to leave Thailand which wasn't enough to request all documents from the Netherlands and have them translated to Thai.
If she comes on a tourist visa to the Netherlands, can we get married in the Netherlands and she can 'extend' or change her visa within the Netherlands to a long stay visa?
Thanks a lot for your help

Don't worry.
You should block her and not wait for her to block you.
You are 26 and a foreigner. She wants to milk you and keep you for what it's worth.
The day always changes, the story stays the same.
No worries mate, you'll be fine and won't be a dad if you wore a rubber 100% of the time.
Just use some common sense aight?

Hi,
What are the requirements for my girlfriend to live with me in the Netherlands?
We are not married yet, she has a small business and a bit of money running through her bank account.
I have a job paying above average and can show funds to fully support her.
Can someone explain to me what needs to be done for her to obtain a long stay visa?

Thank you
I emailed ThaiVisaService and they were very prompt in replying.
No doubt if push came to shove I could make my own way to Laos and apply for a new TV but I guess it would best see how it's done first.
I get the impression these agents are 'known' to immigration and perhaps that greases the wheels. Or I could just be imagining that.
You would imagine right..

Just because you had no issues that doesn't mean other people won't or have not had them already
I wouldn't count your chickens if I were you, if you are staying here on 30 day VE you ARE going to have a issue at some point, that is pretty much guaranteed
I don't think anyone is dumb enough to live on 30 days in/out in Thailand these days. Going to immigration Monday for a 12 months extension based on... (none of your business).

Do wonder, tho, if your "fast track ticket" for Immigration helped things out a bit.

Correct, sorry for mixing up the terms. Just wanted to clear up the fear mongering out there. I flew in/out the same day and got the 30 day visa exempt stamp.

Left to Singapore via Swampy in the morning and came back the same day via Swampy to BKK in the evening.
Had a fast track ticket for the I/O counter. No questions asked, not asked for proof of money or anything else.
Was wearing jeans + tshirt + sneakers and I am in my early 30's.
Been in Thailand for 10+ years from tourist visas, to ED to marriage visa and now back on 30 day on arrival stamp.
There is plenty of fear mongering going on in the forums these days, so take it all with a grain of salt.
PS: I have a previous overstay stamp in my passport for 3 or 4 days. Left Thailand never longer than 7 days total in 10 years. Hope that gives some people some piece of mind.

Doing the back to back from Swampy to SG today and back in the evening. Was on Non B + Work Permit, need to cancel my current visa to get on the PE Visa.
No history of back to backs or a tourist visa ever in my Passport. Will let you know how it goes as well.

Flying from Amsterdam (Shiphol) to Bangkok I was asked in Shiphol to produce a valid visa for Thailand. This was a Thai Airways flight.. Bit off topic but might help some people to understand the current situation.

He can still avoid the blacklisting. This involves a lot of money, a trip to your home country, a visa agent and a new passport.
Seen it happen and done before.
The new rules aren't in place to keep tourists away, they are in place to make more money. Everything visa related is getting more expensive and sooner or later you'll have no other option than an expensive Elite Visa or something along those lines. Even the retirement visa rules are supposed to be changed in the near future.
Money talks..

Education visa work well
Sent from my SM-G920V using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
Before the crackdown - yes.
Now you actually have to play by the book, attend a min amount of classes per week and beg for an extension every 90 days.. at inflated prices, depending on the I/O.

Related to this subject. I welcome comments and advice.
I was midway through a judicial process. I was taking my shipper to Court. At the previous hearing the judge had issued an arrest warrant to capture the shipper (Criminal Defendant). I went to Immigration (now 3 days over), to extend my Visa, in order to complete the judicial process, but it was refused and I was deported at my own expense, after 30 days in detention. (NOT PLEASANT).
Thai Law says. Either contestant involved in Royal Thai Criminal Court proceedings is entitled to visa extension/exemption in order to complete judicial process. It is now known that there was a corrupt conspiracy behind the shipper involving bent cops/Customs. Hence deporting me was perverting the course of justice and protecting the criminal and the corrupt.
I want someone to reply to me and say. 'I've got precisely the right lawyer for you!' THE CASE IS INCONTROVERTIBLE! Corrupt officials broke Thai Law.
Help and advice is much appreciated.
Welcome to Thailand. The land of s...

Was in the same spot. Overstayed one day.
Went to CW in Bangkok, got an overstay stamp but didn't have to pay for 1 day. Wish it was the other day around.
5 mins later I had my extension stamped in and was on my way.

Well there is.. but we are not do allowed to discuss that here. If you use the forum search you will find some french citizen who used an agent to clear his overstay.
This new scheme is nothing more than designed to line some pockets even furthers...

He can't do anything. He would need to pay 20,000 baht overstay fine and would be banned 10 years.
If he has no money he will not get to his flight and end up in Immigration Detention Center until he has 20,000 baht for his overstay fine and can produce a flight ticket.
He will still be blacklisted for 10 years.
To clear an overstay of such length without getting blacklisted will cost you xxx,xxx amount of baht, some people say...

Hey,
Somehow I mixed up the dates and I am now 7 days late for my 90 day period. If memory serves me right, there is some sort of grace period and the max fine is 500 baht, correct?
I plan to go to CW tomorrow as it's a holiday so it will be exactly 7 days from when I should have done my report.
If someone could clarify the consequences - if any - that'll be great!

There won't be a government crackdown. Agents have been around since the day visa's where introduced. They scuffed up the rules on the ED visa - all it did was raise the praise for the customers which relates to more money for the I/O's and the schools... TIT wake up.

Can't speak for speedy-visa but... when in rome..
Now hang me high for telling the truth. Paying a 'fee' to expedite the traffic stop is also 'illegal' but it's the norm. One hand washes the other.

Hey,
I have been living in Thailand for most of the year. Made a total of 3 trips to my home country in the time. Currently on the longest for about 2-3 months (Europe).
Will I get another 30 day stamp on arrival when flying to Thailand in December ? I will have in/out flights, from and back to my home country and sufficient funds on hand.
Just want to spend christmas in Thailand with the wifey..
