It's amazing how many farangs commit suicide in Thailand. Even more amazing how many manage it in police 'custody'.
'Assisted suicide' ?

Flying from Amsterdam (Shiphol) to Bangkok I was asked in Shiphol to produce a valid visa for Thailand. This was a Thai Airways flight.. Bit off topic but might help some people to understand the current situation.

pretty average house for a multi millionaire with lamborginis.
26yrs old and on the run for 8 years, so he must have been a clued up 18 year old.
Anyway RIP
That would have been a smart move to live in an average house , but the 4 Lamborghinis don't make sense.
Also a foreigner at his age driving a car like that draws TONS of attention.
He must have been bi-polar or nothing in the story makes sense. The housing estates don't like someone would park his Lambo there.
The neighbors would be talking, taking pics etc.. it wouldn't last very long.
If we would have 4 Lambos in a decent condo it's a different story..

Lots of nice condos in that area. 35k will get you a nice 2br.
I don't see how you can stay with 2 kids and a wife in a studio on On Nut.. thats not exactly 'living'.

So it's the club I am talking about.. same people who run Ark Bar in Samui to my knowledge..
The german owner seems to love his italian cars...

The place on Pratumnak spelled Cliff backwards?

One Ferrari model, maybe the 458, was infamous for going up inflames a few years ago. The fault was the glue used in the wheel arches I think.
Same goes for the first generation of Lamborghini Aventador. They had a gas leak on the engine. Some videos on youtube where some kids in Dubai rev the engine and the car goes up in smoke.
Maserati with a Toyota engine? That must be one hilarious sounding Maserati.

And how many of them 'will work' ?

Which part? All customers that currently own Lamborghinis bought in the past better get ready for inquiries of their own cars too now. Yikes. The chinese jail, gun smuggling part. Thats news to me.
Not being sarcastic here, really interested to know about it.

Very nice looking merc. But another post said speed restricted to 250 kph. So a big no from me. This is a car for weak pussies, testicleless morons with too little brains and too much money
And why is that?
Makes every Merc driver with something above C-Class a weak pussy with little brains and no balls?

Unfortunately it will be a lot of rubbish and no real sentencing.
In his defense I can tell you first hand how quickly can get things out of hand with the 'right' anti-depressant or anything like that involved.
I have been on prescription drugs for plenty of years and have driven many 'luxury sports cars' on thai roads and no doctor is there to tell you, not to drive or operate any machinery. It should be common sense I know, but once you are used to your medication it will be your normal state of mind and your awareness will decrease. Obviously that doesn't excuse his run through the toll booth. If he wasn't high as a kite he would have noticed and pulled over. Just in general anti anxiety or anti depression drugs are mind altering substances and can cause an accident like this. Just the toll booth part doesn't add up, else I'd almost believe it was an 'accident'.

For the police to have charged him so quickly, it seems apparent that he clearly wasn't paying attention to the road.
Messaging someone or checking if Facebook was still on line, most likely.
I feel really sad for the family of the woman killed who obviously had a big heart and cared for the community.
For a 23 year old student, to be driving a BMW, suggests his family have the wherewithal to help him avoid jail.
If there is a fatality involved, the police will always take you into custody unless you are very well connected.

To hiso they are just not seen.!
This is a 500-600k baht car on the second hand market. Hardly hi-so.
One wonders if it would make the headlines if it would have been a Honda or Toyota driver..

It was an inside job. Another importer is hungry for the Lamborghini brand. Just like what happened to Maserati in Thailand. A lot of pissed off super car owners will be looking for revenge including government officials who also own those illegal gifted imports. I guess time in a Chinese jail for accidental gun smuggling a couple years ago wasn't enough for the owner's son?
Tell us more please.

Being the owner of a supercar must be very expensive as the roads kill the everyday car with pot holes everywhere. Just a year on a Honda civic and the front struts and rear shocks where out. When you drive on the roads and see the pick-ups bouncing as they do again struts have gone.
Supercars are not made for roads like these, so the only reason they are here is
Hey look at me
But where does the money come from to buy supercars? as most of the nation does not even pay income tax.
It has to come from corruption and with 40 lambos lying around, there must be a lot of corruption as I doubt there is that many in the UK or even the factory.
Mind you supercars get stolen and shipped to far off countries do they not?
The cars are not laying around. They are in a dealership, just like they are at BMW, Benz, Honda and every other in Thailand.
Niche Cars advertised a few cars on Facebook as usual in the last 24 hours, so it looks like business as usual.

true you are correct, this is how the dealership will dupe their customer. As a customer you won't really find out until you need to bring your car to the transport department to get it checked up after something like 7-8 years. Or that the insurance finds out your chassis number does not match your registration.
Most don't dupe them - they are well aware of it, if the car is suddenly 5-10m baht cheaper..

That may not work because the papers have chassis numbers and would raise a red flag in the system when you go register or renew your plates.
Many ways around that as well..

The 'fake' papers is a common 'trade'. I have experienced first hand with a Porsche 911 that was declared as Cayman. This was from a second hand dealer, not a well known super car dealer like in the headlines here. What I know from friends they had the same 'issue' when buying a McLaren 650s and on the paper it says Mclaren 12-C.. to save a few baht... thats pretty common.
