I agree roger, this to me is a full lockdown already in Pattaya unless they close the gas stations then nobody can get about,

The snake is from the elapid family all of Thailand’s sea snakes are these meaning front fanged and venomous, roughly 50% of them can be deadly especially the sea kraits of which 5 of them come into the shore to lay their eggs in rocks etc they will not attack you in water or on land. The belchers sea snake ( which this is not) is the most poisonous snake in the world they have blue and sometimes black bands a metre in length when they are stood on they rarely bit but give you a dry bite instead one drop of its venom can kill 1800 people, at least 100 times more potent than the king cobra ???? all sea snakes have paddle like tails if you get a slight hit off a sea snake nausea shortness of breath diarrhoea are the early symptoms

Pattaya: Motorcycle taxi man gives his excuses after Walking Street attack - he's detained, Chilean gets apology basket
Picture: Thai Rath
The man responsible for a brutal attack on a young Chilean man in Walking Street yesterday has given a bunch of excuses.
Meanwhile his victim got a bunch of flowers and some fruit to say sorry from the police on behalf of Thailand.
The story reached Thai national news with the violence from CCTV being shown to the nation after the attack at 2 am.
Bloodied Salvatore C., 24, needed hospital treatment after being slapped and kicked in the face.
Police arrested Amorn or "Jiap" Bunmee at his house in the afternoon and also took in Ritthisak, 45, who was also at the beating, for questioning.
Jiap said that the foreigner was drunk and had begged him for a ride. But there was a breakdown in communication and he told him to go elsewhere.
However, the tourist kept on imploring him for a ride and this caused Jiap to lose his temper.
He admitted that he is the kind of person that is "prone to annoyance" and "easily angered".
So he attacked him.

He admitted what he had done and apologized for his inappropriate behavior.
Ritthisak said he wasn't there for the whole incident but saw the attack bit and tried to calm the situation. He took the victim to the police station after.
Jiap was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and detained in custody.
The charge may be upgraded if the medical report indicates that the injuries suffered by the Chilean are more serious.
Chonburi provincial deputy Pol Col Korawat Hanpradit said this was a serious incident that had damaged both the image of Pattaya and Thailand as a whole.
He promised swift action and said that the victim would be getting a basket by way of apology.
Such baskets usually contain flowers and fruit.

-- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-02-26It may have been a casket not a basket still with the flowers, I’ve seen lots of incidents over the years here like this but only the second time on video the last one being a German man in broad daylight down beach road, this was grevious body harm not a one off, he slapped him firstly then 2 kicks to the face/head a disgrace, no apologies needed for the scumbag, as he was sober, I am a taxi driver myself if that was me my badge and a large fine from the council without a magistrates court hearing or even crown court if judge thinks it needs long sentence over 18 months, the Chilean is built like a kid, maybe if he was the motorbike taxi man would of done the same, my thoughts anyway

Is it worth coming to Pattaya for a semi-long (6-months) living situation, or is it a hassle getting food or going out for a beer?
I usually live in Jomtein or Pratamnak half the year. Party maybe once a week. Living on the darkside or away from the ocean is not an option for me.
Just want things to be relatively normal and not just everything shut down or people acting weird enough that staying becomes an issue. Opinions?
Is there anyone living there now in the central area who is carrying more or less as normal, or are expats just waiting to get out?
Is that construction nightmare along the main ocean drag finished yet?

I think there are some quiet parts to Pattaya too, jomtien is quite quiet but I like the peace and tranquility of bangsaray and ban amphur about 15 km out of pattaya it has many tourist attractions around there including nong nooch waterworld and some fantastic temples a bike is a necessity there to get around then you have places like ban Chang and rayong not to far away the people are very friendly and villas and condos alike very cheap with a budget of 98000 you can live anywhere in Thailand but for scenery etc laid back life I would choose bangsaray and at the sunshine beach you have free WiFi there rent a deck chair all day for 30 baht lovely clean beach with a great view up the beach to ban amphur jomtien and Pattaya can’t wait until January to start my yearly 3 monthly trip anyway enjoy your time there
