Coconuts growing is easy, without disease...more difficult. I have had a coconut as small as 30cm, put it in a big hole with good soil, and now 4 years later, he is massive, almost 8 meter high. Try to get in contact with someone working in the government. Because every 2 years guys from them do inject coconut trees with some special product against the bugs and other infestations. Everyone here around let them do their job. Congratulations for giving up drinking, if you can do that, you can achieve everything.

As for you being alone, just find a girl(or a boy/men) just tell them honest what you want, if you only need company, hang around or just little travelling or anything..so they know what you expect and get from them. A lot of girls or boys are in for new things(not sex) like just to be with you, of course you can pay them a lot or even only the food, it’s up to you. Maybe you are lucky and after a while you can have dedicated friends. (As I know from some good friends of mine, who did it that way. ) they are happy to have someone around if they feel so, and they have their own free time.

Where you got that 200.000 number , not so long ago I read figures between 600.000 till 800.000  estimate by the Thai government. Not that it makes a real change in the economy, but it’s impact it’s a little higher!

Why not Sam Roi Yot, best area in Thailand, although it’s never cold, on Dolphin Bay you always have a nice breeze. Very little rain, and on the entrance of the National Park very clean air.

its a bit sleepy, but for action you have Hua Hin or Pranburi, and Pak Nam Pran nearby.

Beautiful surroundings as also Kui Buri National Park and the original Thai life in the villages

Not much to do in the nighttime, but Hua Hin is close.
