If served prison sentence he would have been taken straight to IDC then deported at his own cost he will be blacklisted for how long not sure.

Shoes and belts are removed before you enter a cell.  In my case, they would not let me have them back to go to court and I was then taken to prison.  I was returned to the same police station some months later but the shoes (expensive Timberlands) and belt had gone walkabout as expected

I was taken to ratchada court Imprisoned in klong prem building 1, bail 100.00 bhat shoes gone belt gone hair gone , not bad for 3 days.

And the part where the police took a pair of shoes and a belt from him and didn't return it makes it to a unbelievable story. 

For Information only when I was transferred to royal Thai police Bangkok, before I was put in the cell my Armani belt and shoes were never seen again. ?

Did you get a ban or was you free to come straight back ?

I have not been back as yet I left Thailand 6th June 2016. Lawyers will and do just take take..

Apart from those who feel the need to accuse and impune, I very much appreciate the comments from those addressing and debating the pertinent points of my enquiry.  Many of the points made have been very useful.  Thank you.

I have been following this post, and from what has been said is quite a lot!! However the point is are you blacklisted or banned? I myself was Imprisoned in (klong prem) for 1year 6months then released to be taken to IDC Bangkok to be deported, you have had some same experience that I have had lawyers will take your money all day long ....the best way to find out is to try a land crossing so your are not trapped in Thailand the choice is yours. Yep....."Retirees In Paradise" .  megabollocks.

I was there for 1 mouth, and believe me it's worst than prison. You are in the cell 24/7 with around 70 and up skin problems and well enough said.
