  1. If the 300 baht policy has been postponed, that can only be good for the country, I will explain that...

Many SME's can't afford that, so they will have to move to provinces where that rule is not applied, the ones that can't move will sack employees to be able to cope with the extra expenditure, and the ones that can't do neither, will have to close and that will produce unemployment. I don't have an SME and i don't work for one, but for me it's obvious that will happen.

Not mentioning inflation; higher salaries, will mean increasing prices of goods to compensate for the increment in labour cost.

For a person who's making 150 baht per day would sound awesome to make double, but I don't think it will sound so awesome to the person who lost his job for that and for the person who kept it and then realized the 300 baht he/she's receiving is the not as good as 300 baht before inflation.

If that's in the mind of the government, the increment will be gradually and not from one day to the next... hope it is...

Am I wrong doing this analysis? Because if not, I'd put the wage management of this government with negative points.... hehehehe...

    Have a nice weekend everyone!

P.S.: I tried making my analysis totally unbiased, I've got no sympathy for yellows, reds, blues, rainbows, etc. Just trying to live my life in harmony with all political and religious views.

  2. Makes a lot of sense, she is making declarations that not only are true, but are very mature and conciliatory. This coming from a person directly affected... funny how Chalerm is always talking about this but according to her, no one in this government has contacted her. It seems like even though the previous government didn't do enough, at least they had the courtesy to stay in touch with her.

Much to be learnt from what she said!!!

  3. Kill themselves because of bad education policies, sorry, a bit extreme, they must have been some other reasons. But yes, I agree in general with the idea, there has been more efforts to help Thaksin than to help improve education.

Populist policies can win elections, but they are doing nothing for these kids to improve. Come on!!! A tablet for these kids? There are more important things to do with money than a tablet PC. Start with better books and better teacher, more training for teachers and more focus on quality rather than toys. I'm sure you will see these tablets going around with kids playing angry birds and not really learning english or history, dumb... can't find another word.

    Have a nice day everyone.

  4. If she says she will go and then she doesn't, of course will cause commotion. Not a smart move, denotes a clear fear for questioning and also, not keeping her word kinda shows she can't be trusted, even with her own sayings.

As I said before, a PM or president is a manager, and as a manager, he/she needs to be where the most important things are happening to be able to make informed decisions. I'd like to see a CEO missing a budget meeting and given her corporate background, it makes me wonder if it was her decision or was advised to miss it. If she was advised, you can start speculating by whom... hahahaha.

    Have a nice day everyone.

  5. I think money under the table, tea money for police, corrupt politicians are part of the Thai culture, no? I was told so by a Thai friend. I'd worry more about that than Facebook. Even though parents should be more involved in the internet life of their kids to spare them from Internet sexual predators and things like that.

Internet is a tool, if well used can be extremely good, for things like keeping in touch with friends that moved away, or when you moved away, google things to learn, even bad things can leave you a lesson.

Religion and morality are 2 different things, you can send a kid to the temple every day, but if you don't teach morality and what's good and bad, kids won't get it, nothing to do with karma, because all religions teach you the same, do good and good things should happen to you, but that's also called common sense.

What are we lacking, religious and moral values? or just plain common sense?

  6. I think economist people forget how Argentina did exactly this and went from being a world power to be a really crappy place to live. The difference is there was no flood there but President Alfonsin's policies and the Falklands (AKA Malvinas) to thank for. Also the Asian crisis was caused by Thailand's excess money borrowing for real estate development.

Economy is a complicated thing, even a household economy, once you start getting less money, things should change. Let's say you change a job that allows you to spend more time with the family, you're gaining huge having quality time, but you will have to make sacrifices, like maybe taking BTS to the office instead of car all the time, you won't borrow to cover for your extra expenditure, because it will be suicide, or you'll be in so much debt that even your kids will have to help you later.

Now let's see the government, they're getting less money in, because the populist measures, like first time car owners, but instead of taking the BTS more, they want to borrow money to buy a Hummer, that will cost even more than before to drive than the smaller car you once had. The same things here, the government has more expensive projects and the maintenance of these projects will be higher than the previous projects. If in your own house a budget doesn't make sense, probably in a bigger scale it will make even less sense.

    Am I wrong?

    Have a nice day everyone!

  7. Even if it was him, there are crazy guys everywhere, unless someone proves he was paid or ordered to do this by someone higher up in the chain of command of the Pheu Thai party, the pictures worth nothing, prove nothing and talk nothing about the party itself.

I'm not a supporter of this government, but childish things don't convince me, so if it's him, big deal!!! so it's not, same crap... there are still flood victims and people who need help, focus on their pictures better.

    Have a nice day everyone!

  8. "Asked about her stance over the amnesty law allegedly designed to benefit her fugitive brother Thaksin, the prime minister maintained she wants to see the reconciliation among the people and the indiscriminate use of law."

If that wasn't a scripted answer, I eat my hat, and I'm 100% sure my hat is safe :P

And yes, with the current situation of the country, I can't do anything but agree with all the people pointing out how important this is for the government and how important it should really be... one person is not more important than a country, no matter how much money he has and how much money he can give you under the table...

    Have a nice weekend everyone!

  9. Yet another piece of slanted and dishonest reporting by The Nation. How on earth could such a newspaper legitimately report comments criticizing an administration in power for less than 6 months, blaming them for 40 million impoverished Thais? Hahaha....that did not happen in the last 6 months, but during all previous administrations. YL just inherited they doings. Pitiful.

Dude, you really need to learn how to read English or at least understand better... he's not putting the guilt on this government for the 40 million poor people, he's just saying this administration can make them poorer or increase that number.

And I really don't see why the Nation in this case is reporting badly, they're just publishing comments from a MP. Your comments are very biased, jing-jing!!! :)

Can a different government do better? no idea, maybe yes, maybe not. But still, that doesn't stop anyone from giving his opinion, even more if it's a person self-criticizing his own party and government. Good for him.

    Have a god day everyone!
