retinal tear: solution laser 360 degrees circumference
Pouatchee replied to Pouatchee's topic in Health and Medicine
thanks sheryl. in my case i am symptomatic in both eyes and i am getting these weird flashes in my left eye which was treated 3-4 years ago. this week... and no i am not on drugs... i had a light flash that had the shape of a circle with lines around it... just like a crude drawing of a child. i think that if i dont do the 360 degree on both eyes i might be in for a surprise down the line... specially considering i am not in my 60's yet. thanks all... good posts -

so what was the prognostic... what did you end up doing? i think my doctor (considering my left eye also has problems) is going to do this to avoid future issues... -
retinal tear: solution laser 360 degrees circumference

you are fortunate...had my left eye done around 3-4 years ago and still feels like i have sand in it. i have a high level tolerance for pain... generally, but my eyes? not at all... complete waste -
factoring that in, did you ever look at aliexpress? i know its not 'a store' and prolly many people here wont think much about my suggestion, but there are some nice options on there and fairly cheap

retinal tear: solution laser 360 degrees circumference

thanks for that you are very fortunate. for me... it burns and my eyes dry up, hence the need for constant eye drops. my doctor had warned me of this. as sheryl said, there are 2 options. numbing eye drops or injected local anesthetic. my doc gave me the numbing... as you said, you had a local. i guess that helps. because of the amount of 'laser zaps' (over a 100 according to the doc) i will likely ask for the local anesthesia -
Thai PM Faces Conflict Claims Over Real Estate Policy Change
Pouatchee replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
countries like russia, south korea and as is our case... thailand only PUT UP with foreigners if they benefit the country on their terms. which, for argument's sake is understandable. but the conditions here in thailand to get a permanent residency card are quite demanding. as a teacher, who normally earns around 50k, in thai schools i am not sure that i would meet the minimum financial requirements. even after over 20 years here i am, as most of us here, on the outside looking in... as for clown face, i guarantee that, just like taxsin did, anything he will attempt to pass will have a hidden agenda that will no doubt benefit him. maybe he will even go black panther hunting... -
retinal tear: solution laser 360 degrees circumference

thank you for this detailed explanation. i will walk in to the operating room a lot more reassured. my left eye is starting to act up again, so if this is bearable i will likely ask to do it too. i dont get it... i had cataract surgery in both eyes and i read that following surgey retinal tears are relatively rare. yet, i am lucky enough to have it in both eyes and i am not even 60 yet. sucks to be me... thanks sheryl -
Dear @Sheryl I have a retinal tear in my right eye. many floaters coming in and flashes. I went to see my optometrist 2 weeks ago and at first she could not find the tear. following a panoply of tests she found it and tried to laser it. she said it was difficult to access and after the surgery i still had the flashes but they were lesser. On thursday, my doctor booked me for next friday to do a follow up. her plan is to laser my retina in a 360 degree circumference. the laser smarts like heck just when she did the small spot and I know i am going to cringe when she plans to do the whole eye. my questions: 1. is this normal practice? 2. are there risks other than she lasering somewhere by accident? 3. what is the long term prognostic? 4. if for some reason i get hit by say, a tennis ball, can it cause retinal detachment more easily than if i dont have the procedure? Maybe its just me, but I had my left eye done first (same issue a while ago) and last time my right eye hurt like heck and to this day i still need to put eyedrops every 20 minutes. any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

thais are masters at keeping it to themselves and this is why when they blow up it is out of proportion. i call it dealing with problems as it comes. if you disrespect others and no one ever tells you then you will assume it is ok and you will never do any introspection. everyone needs to be called out when they are disrespectful of others. your liberty stops where mine starts i was taught as a kid

i would like to say: "before, when I was in canada...20 some years ago people would let the first ones in queue go to a newly opened cashier simply because it was their turn..." but in today's society, back in the west, i am not so sure people do that anymore. much has changed im my 20ish years here, so i am not in a position to be holier than thou.... but from what i hear, GenZ is not doing so well in regards to mannerisms. sad world we live in. I still try to preserve some resemblance of western politeness here, but i find it difficult to do at times. I am not sure I would fare better in my country anymore. I think a lot has to do with the way the newest generations are being brought up...

when i first got here in the very early 2000's, i went to a post office and an old lady rudely cut in front of me in the queue. i was really angry, but my then gf told me my pen rai... chai yen yen. -->relax take it easy. now, if anyone does this i learned the very useful phrase--> ko tod krup, khun mai mee marayat krup... translate: excuse me, you have bad manners and i make sure i keep my queue but what gets me the most is when a cashier opens because of long queues and people rush to be first rather than letting those who should go first do so. about this one... nothing you can do...

Thailand reduces school hours in major curriculum overhaul
Pouatchee replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Top down solution. Get rid of the old fossils that are the headmasters and program coordinators who know nothing. Dont be afraid to put foreigners with the proper qualifications ( not online degrees, online pgce's, online and even thai uni master's degrees) Make sure newly hired thai teachers meet decent level english proficiency requirements. Fail the kids who deserve to be failed for a lack of effort and achievement Have clearly defined and enforcable discipline policies that are implemented nationwide. Get problem students the meds (if applicable) and help/support they need Make classes a manageable 25 students per class Pay the teachers a reasonable wage. No long term foreign teacher can live here and prepare a retirement on 35-40k a month and same goes for thai teachers. 10-15k a month is hardly an incentive to attract bright minds -

Only reason people then and now were able to use agents to get retirement visa without the 800k IS because the pigs were corrupted, even under big joke If your gonna fart in the water make sure your bowels are empty. WOW... your best one so far -

Seems he has inherited billions from family in law. I guess he really doesnt want to share any of the pie... gambling money/inheritance or not. I hope he goes away. I actually hope they all go away. This banana republic makes Mexico look good. -
They prolly are happy because of the declassification of weed as a narcotic. But judging by today's news and the gvt's (taxsin's) desire to reclassify it, this joy might be short lived

Strong Thai Public Support For Cannabis Reclassification

Another poll manipulated and mediatised to brainwash people into believing what the taxin war on drugs wants it to. It seems like putting potheads in jail is good for business. I do not smoke, nor consume marijuana in any shape or form anymore for health reasons, nor do i drink booze. But i wish i could. It is a relaxing herb, and i fail to see how making it illegal again will benefit anyone. I am actually glad i stopped booze. I did more stupid thing on booze than weed. And dhdn i did stupid things on weed, i usually drank alcohol. So, i know first hand what is at stake here. Those who believe that it makes people commit crimes... you should look at the blood level alcohol and whether any meth is found in the blood of those accused of commiting crimes while high on weed. But it is much easier to blame pot when you have a zero tolerance to things that are difficult to tax due to the ease of growing it at home. It is much easier to support addictive activities that destroy families like gambling, booze, and cigarretes (cancer, emphyzema and COPD causing drug) because they can easily be taxed. I despise the nazi-dinosaur idealists who still believe a pothead desrverves to be in jail with hardened criminals.- 53 replies

Funny, he was balling for the conflict in ukraine to stop fearing that if it continued it would affect the global food chain. Yet, he sides with Putin and refused to sign the recent petition against russia. I guess its clear he wants to buy his wheat to make thai mama noodles from russia. Clown face needs to leave and take all his clowns with him, being led by the elephant in the room... taxsin

Surachate 'Big Joke' Hakparn challenges Thai PM over dismissal
Pouatchee replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Believe what you want... i dont care In this whole debate, the initial meaning got lost in translation. He is a corrupt cop. Thats it, nothing else. Some brlieve innocently that it is his vocation and he is as pure as the day he was born. Believe that if you want. Cops in thailand are dirty. You think this guy and his team are good? Up to you... keep on dreaming BREAKING NEWS In a decisive move, the Police Commission unanimously voted, 12-0, to approve the dismissal of Deputy Police Chief Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn. This endorsement follows Acting National Police Chief Pol Gen Kitrat Phanphet's contentious removal order I guess he is bring abandoned by all his buddies... bye bye big joke
