  1. hi does anyone know what type of doc you have to upload on no7?

Confirmation of legal residence in a country in which you are applying for the visa. (In case that you are not a national of the country in which you are applying for the visa.)

I was born in uk and applying for single tourist visa in london.

I was thinking about birth cert, but wanted to check first.

    Many thanks

  2. I would be grateful to hear from anyone that has done a 30 day visa exempt run to Ranong/Krawtaung recently.

I was wondering if they were allowing visa exempt border runs there and also if they still allow you to stay a few days in Krawthaung for the 10 dollar Myanmar stamp, without having to get a proper Myanmar visa?

It will be my first visa exempt since 2017.

    Thanks,

    Mickey

  3. Thanks Mr Ubon Joe :-) Yes, I had not thought of that and would be   saving a couple of nights on my rented condo, so when you add up the 2 nights hotel and loss of 2 nights rent it comes to about 1500 baht, so that might be the best option :-)  I take it that they do not give you any nasty red stamps that might hinder another tourist visa from London / immigration scrutiny BKK, very much later this year?

    Much appreciated,

    Happy New Year,

  4. Thanks for that 4evermaat :-)

    UK passport :-(

Had 1 visa exempt in 2017.

Currently on a 60 day tourist visa from London and will extend this for 30 days at Blue Port immigration Hua Hin.

Actually I hope to do both of your suggestions with my planned 1 visa exempt to

    Kawthaung.

Stay for 2 nights at a hotel in Kawthaung, then once back to Hua Hin, hopefully extend the 30 day visa exempt for another 30 days at Blue Port immigration.

Just hope it will all workout as hope to keep my current room in Hua Hin while doing the border run. Will be a disaster if they will not let me back in at Ranong as want to leave most of my luggage in Hua Hin.

Any ideas of places to stay in Kawthaung would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks for your help,

  5. Sorry to be a pain, again, but was wondering if anyone has had any bad experiences with British Airways, departing from London, with regards to flying with or without a visa?

I have flown with Etihad for the last ten years travelling maybe 25 times to Bangkok and have never once been asked if I had a visa.

I am thinking of getting a 5 month return with British Airways this year with just a 60 day visa and was wondering if anyone had heard any bad things with being denied flying or given a hard time.

    Many thanks,

    Mickey

  6. Sorry folks to be such a pain in the derriere, but I have had to change my travel plans due to a friend needing my assistance in the UAE. My tourist visa expires this month on the 26th, but I need to extend my stay in Thailand to fly from BKk to the UAE on the 2nd of Feb.

As I have a visa for Myanmar in my passport, do you think it would be OK to stay 1 or 2 nights in Myanmar at Victoria Point and return to Ranong to get a visa exempt? As I have the Myanmar visa, I thought it would be a shame to waste it, and not opting for an extension at immigration.

Any thoughts advice greatly appreciated, I have heard that the Ranong crossing is a bit iffy with visas now :-(

    Thanks

    Mickey

"More like which one does not allow a same day turnaround. Only Sadao and occasionally Padang Besar do not allow it.

But there are 3 crossings to Myanmar that do not allow any crossings for new exempt entry. Ban Phu Nam Ron, Mae Sot and Mae Sai do not allow them."

I have a valid Burmese visa in my passport and was hoping to enter Myanmar and return through Mae Sot after 2 weeks. Would you be so kind to confirm that it is not possible to get a visa exempt at Mae Sot after visiting Mynamar?

    Much appreciated,

    Mickey

  8. I would be grateful for information with regards to applying for a Thai Tourist Visa in Yangoon.

I have read on some old blogs from about 3 years ago that a flight ticket into Thailand from Myanmar is needed, before you can apply for a Thai Tourist visa in Yangoon.

I was hoping to return to Thailand at the land crossing at Mae Sot and not flying back to Thailand.

    Thanks,

  9. That's funny, I can honestly say I never recall being short changed once in Thailand :-) Not to say that maybe those days have gone?

I remember thinking to myself after being short changed twice in Sainsburys in the UK, that never has that happened to me in Thailand :-)

Anyway, I will keep an eye out for it for the next upcoming trip. ( As you do in any country)

  10. Ooooops sorry, yes a 3 entry tourist visa ;-) I just hope I can get another SETV when in runs out in Savanakhet, maybe :-)????

PS has anyone ever applied for a Myanmar/Burmese visa in London? The Myanmar webiste asks for only address in Myanmar, but I have read elsewhere that they require much more paperwork than this :-(  I am tempted to get a Myanmar visa in London, for 28 days if it is easy :-)

    Cheers.

  11. Just got my SETV from the Thai London Consulate.

The staff were very friendly and the new wating area in the basement is very nice.

There are even toilets which are clean and modern, which is a very welcome addition :-) ( This time no need to visit the Natural History Museum for a leak )

This year it has been the best and easiest trip to this Thai consulate.  I wanted to leave some feedabck about the awesome service, but I do not think there are any slips there for this.

Excellent service, but a shame that we can no longer get METV without jumping through many hoops and having a job :-)

  12. Please can I have your opinions with regards to Airline procedures when it comes to visas and flights :-)

I was wondering if an airline would allow you to board if you had just a single ticket to Thailand, with only a 60 day tourist visa?

Alternatively if you buy a return ticket, returning after 180 days, would they allow you to board just with a 60 day tourist visa?

I hope to fly from LHR London to BKK Thailand either with -  BA, Etihad, or Kuwait Airlines.

    Thanks,

    Mickey
