  1. I'm considering investing in an existing BOI approved company in the AGRA field in Chiang Mai.

My understanding is each WP requires 4 Thai employees and he has 4 WP requiring 16 Thai employees. To date he's only hired 6.

He's told me companies abuse this and he's heard companies from India and Israel never even hire Thais and the BOI never audits.

    Is this the case ?

seems excessive.. even when i'm in holiday mode i struggle to spend 2000 baht.. most days its less than 1000 baht with a spluge at the weekend partying. and im not a cheapskate on holiday

My brother spends least than 30k baht in 3 weeks as spending money in Thailand on his holidays. He doesn't buy much like clothes,  it's half decent hotels,  food and going out money but not going out to blow it.

It would not matter if they did, this is Thailand.

Not true. They'll happily hand out fines a friend was saying in his condo block.

The 1000 baht bill scam is not rare in Pattaya. I wouldn't say it's super common either, but it's worth being on guard.

The way I deal with it is to call out the bill at places that are new to me, especially more tourist trap kinds of places, but if I'm known in a place especially if I know the waiter, I don't.

I don't think it's really necessary to call out at places like 7-11. Those hard workers are underappreciated.

Agree. Except those at 711 who are appreciated. Gotta watch that bunch closely.

I was in the running both in 2014 and 2015.  JT won in 2014 after a close and "gentlemanly" contest between us.  I wouldn't characterize the 3rd and 4th place candidates as being as much fun, however.

Somehow the 2015 contest wasn't as much fun, but I came out on top in the end.  See the tiny tiara in my avatar.  JT didn't run and was a good commentator throughout the entire campaign.

But, I'm plagued with charges of scandal and corruption because some think that the disappearance of Tywais as TV moderator was due to charges of POTY vote manipulation.  And I was grooming NorthernJohn for fame as 2016 POTY when he was struck down by a stroke due to the stress of the Chiang Mai Expats Club being tossed out of River Market Restaurant for its Friday morning breakfasts by the emotional owner David the Duke's.  (David and CEC eventually kissed and made up, but sadly NorthernJohn didn't live to see the day.)

So, this morning when I got up, Hubby confronted me with the evidence that I'd been up late and posting on Thai Visa.  I assured him I wasn't in the race for 2016 POTY.

How can you possibly know stress from some expat club being tossed out caused his stroke ?

Also why would an owner of a food venue throw out a whole club unless you were all taking up space .

John Barry Humphries, AO, CBE (born 17 February 1934) is an Australian comedian, actor, satirist, artist, and author. He is best known for writing and playing his on-stage and television alter egos Dame Edna Everage and Sir Les Patterson.

    BANNED BY QANTAS

The notorious “sick bag” prank. Barry Humphries carrying on to an aircraft a tin of Heinz Russian Salad, which he would then surreptitiously empty into an air-sickness bag while in first class. At the appropriate point in the flight, he pretend to vomit loudly and violently into the bag. Then, to the horror of passengers and crew, he asked for a spoon and proceed to eat the contents

What I've "worked out" from your two previous posts is that you need to take the advice of pgrahmm:

" They actually should go back to where they came from (they're not doing any good for themselves or the Thai's by being here) - but odds are they aren't welcome there as they whined/bitched their way through everybody back home...."

And if you don't live in Thailand, I strongly suggest you stay where you are :jap:

I actually live in both worlds mate . I highly enjoy Thailand  ,  but I'd never give up a first world country for a developing one and id never move full time to a country that treated me like a refugee.

My child can choose if she loves the royal family.

Call it what you want ,  but its not rocket science.
