  1. Great thread! It has given me 2 more eejits to block so I don't have to see their nonsense again.
  2. Lived in Phuket for 22 years but eventually began to dislike the place. I had travelled all over Thailand during that time and spent a lot of time in Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Ubon, Sisaket, Udon, Korat and Bangkok. Finally met the love of my life and now live in the city where she was born and all of her extended family still live (Pattaya). It too has its problems, but after 15 years, I still like it far better than Phuket. Recently went back for a visit to catch up with friends, but I will probably never go back again. Each to their own taste.
  3. dogblower replied to Patong2's topic in Phuket
After living in Patong for 18 years before moving to the south of the island, I looked around one day and asked myself "What the f*&# have they done to my home?" I left Phuket after a total of 22 years and now live elsewhere in Thailand. For the last 15 years, whenever I am asked why I left Phuket, I answer "greed". There seems to be a mindset on the island which revolves entirely around greed. And Patong is at the heart of it. I have been back twice since I left and my wife, who had never been there before, hated the place too. Doubt I will ever be back.
  4. Some brilliant parody accounts on here. Enjoying this immensely.
