I was thinking in case backward compatibility would be necessary for some reason (e.g. Copy files from a drive).

But also as a secondary reason, so that you could switch back to an older backup laptop if it became necessary for some reason.

But if the difference is too great or the kits too expensive/cumbersome, then maybe time to upgrade backup also.

Nope.  They could not sell me AIS phone credit when I was there a few weeks ago.  The did not give me the impression it was some temporary thing either but TiT so who knows.

Perhaps you strayed into the 7 Eleven there.

Maybe you tried to buy air-side as opposed to land-side.

Let's wait to see if anyone else reports the same issue with the Family Mart land-side.

Separation of powers. The Judiciary should not over-rule the government on political decisions. Proroguing is a political decision, not justiciable. If the prerogative power to prorogue can be changed by judges then almost anything can be.

You may support it now, but you know it's a dangerous precedent, and wrong. You'll pretend it's fine because the verdict went your way, this time.

Wrong. The Queen prorogues Parliament on advice given to her. If the advice given is erroneous, it is only right that we have 'checks and balances'.

It was only made political, as Mr Cummins thought he could abuse the Queen by involving her in his political game.

I am against unelected, unaccountable judges reversing the political decisions of elected governments.

Sounds right up your street though.

Are you against Mr Johnson lying to the Queen, as to his reasons for requesting her to prorogue Parliament?

Because that is what was under revision.

A political decision to lie to the Queen?

Maybe someone is so disgusted with his behaviour that they okayed the release of information that illustrates that he is without compunction.

    ahh thanks for the explanation.

is it really 32GB per month? (with other packages even higher to 140GB per month?) These huge GB per month numbers makes little sense to me.

How can people even use this much unless you stream YouTube every waking minute?

Depends on how you use it and how long you will stay. You might use it to connect your laptop to the Internet, for an instance.

But yes, 32 GB with AIS for 100 baht, plus the cost of the SIM card, usually 50 baht.

my cousin bought this AIS sim from lazada and will bring it to the airport for me.

    https://www.lazada.co.th/products/ais-4mbps-32gb-128kbps-12-100-sim-i343138718-s667160280.html?spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.1.73d45684aMMluF&search=1

I then take the SIM to the AIS booth at the airport to register it with my passport?

    Sigh....

It is just a normal SIM on which they will top up 100 baht and then send it to you. As I told, your cousin could have picked up any old AIS/TruemoveH/DTAC SIM. They all have similar promos for 100 baht per month.

From what I have seen, on another board, with any new SIM you have the choice of 32 GB, 45 GB, 60 GB, 110 GB and 140 GB. So you've only succeeded in locking yourself in to a specific package.

The airport booth might not be that helpful, since you will not purchase anything from them. But I guess they will be duty bound to help you.

It's time to crush China, Russia and Europe's economies just like we did to Iran, N Korea & Turkey. All of the socialist/communist countries listed here including Denmark, France, Germany and especially the UK are not friends of America & haven't been for a very, very long time! Never forget, anyone who tries to cut side deals with the terrorist country of Iran are Americas enemies!!! These socialist, welfare mooching, opportunist parasite, Euro/Asian trash are not to be trusted or believed under any circumstances especially when national security is a concern.. It's time to embarrass China & Europe on the world stage, & let everyone know what lying, cheating, opportunist parasites they really are... You can't bite the hand that feeds and expect to keep getting fed! 'Attention' all Euro trash! Please do not visit the USA anymore... You are not welcome here! CRUSH!!! ????????????  #Trump2020  #MAGA2020  #Whitelash2020  #Eurotrash

Been on the sauce again? Good friends tell you the truth. If you had any, you would know that.

When you become isolated from the people who would care, you thoughts become increasingly bizarre, as you have no one with whom to counterbalance your imagination.

Then the bunch of isolated, wildly imbalanced nuts find each other and think that their crazy thoughts were right all along.

You've been watching too many movies, where everything appears black and white. You have lost the power of critical thinking.

Your ancestry is from whence? Europe?

Anyone can buy the sim off Lazada but you will probably need your passport to register/enable it .

to register/enable it, I can do it at the shops at the airport?

Obviously you are writing about Truemove H and not AIS.

Either way, you can register it at any official outlet. Airport too, since you will be buying credit from them.

But it looks like just a normal Truemove H SIM. So she can just pick one up from 7-Eleven, on the way to meet you at the airport.

Those unadvertised promotions are probably useless for most people.  First of all it only works for new SIMs.  And since you cannot transfer your existing phone number you cannot keep the same phone number.  And if you are just getting off the plane and trying to do this at the booth at the airport good luck with that.  If they wouldn't tell me how to do this, or even acknowledge it's possible, at the AIS office, I doubt they will do it at the airport where they are used to dealing with gullible tourists all day.

So about the only thing I can see it useful for is if you are ONLY using the SIM for data and want to keep jumping through hoops to renew every month because the codes probably change every month or maybe you might even need to buy a new SIM every month.  Even if they don't do that now, no guarantee they won't in the future.  Only 50 baht for a new basic SIM with no prepackaged addons but still, it's a hassle to have to go into the office with your passport to get that SIM.   So they don't make it easy to try take advantage of this promotion.

Negative much? Seems you are not happy in Thailand. Yes you need to have your passport/ID to register a SIM in Thailand, so what is your point there?

It has also been made clear from, what I have read, that the new SIM promotions do not work with the SIM for tourists sold at the airport booths, so why would you try it there?

I have also seen that you have been told that you cannot port your number on the same network. So why would you expect AIS to tell you how to do this?

Then your rant about changing codes every month, when it is also clear that the promo auto renews for twelve months. So why would you need to worry about changing codes?

Sorry mate, but this seems to be all about you and nothing to do with SIMs and the promotions at all.

It seems that you just want things how you want them and you are unhappy that you cannot get exactly what you want, when you want it.

Useless for you does not equate to useless for most people. It just means you.

How do you know that most people are not happy to buy a new SIM in order to get a load of data for a cheap price?

It seems that you are not happy, full stop.

  10. I'm sure it's been posted many times before. Adding large amounts of credit is just not sensible, when you can extend for a year for as little as 24 baht.

DTAC  –  Extend your validity for up to 365 days at a cost of 2 Baht per month.

    • Press : *113*30*9# for 30 days extension.  Cost 2 Baht
    • Press : *113*60*9# for 60 days extension.  Cost 4 Baht
    • Press : *113*90*9# for 90 days extension.  Cost 6 Baht
    • Press : *113*180*9# for 180 days extension.   Cost 12 Baht
    • Conditions: Must activate SIM for at least 90 days or have usage of 200 THB.

Always recommended to activate Roaming before you leave Thailand. That way you can apply these codes whilst abroad.

    Doesn't seem as if you have done that;

    Quote
    1. Activate roaming service call *118# or 1678 dtac call center before travelling
    2. To check available package and service fee in each country, click here
    3. Check your International Service service prior to your departure at *1018.

You can call them to check if your SIM is still active; +662-202-8100

If so, they may be able to extend validity for you to a full year, deducting 2 baht per month.

It was a tweet on Twitter which he deleted after a few minutes so he obviously regretted posting it.
The other stuff is from a private Email with a journalist who decided to publish it wasn't said publicly.

Of course he regretted it, but why is he lying now?

Why not just state that he said it, meant it and that now he is sorry that he made such a horrible mistake?

Instead he is just trying to weasel out of it. Weak.

Had no idea, just read about using SSD for the O.S. + from you in a Post on here...

Bought it from Advice at Westgate, the one good thing at Westgate is Advice + JIB are next door to each other and often cheaper than any online places..........  just looked on Lazada at the MX500  cost 1,000 baht more than Invadit....  !!

From me? Have I posted here before??

https://www.lazada.co.th/products/crucial-250gb-mx500-sata3-25-ssd-i171883406-s214823501.html 109 baht more. You were probably looking at a higher capacity model.

Done it, Friday bought a Gigabyte 240 SSD........  Start time is now 14 seconds

    It's a good thing that you have a lot of RAM on-board, since you chose an SSD without DRAM;

My choice would have been for an MX500, an SSD with a DRAM chip; https://www.invadeit.co.th/product/solid-state-drives-ssd/crucial/mx500-250gb-2-5inch-internal-ssd-ct250mx500ssd1-p034803/
