Recently arrived and had to show Nothing. Just passport stamped in for 30day, and a pleasant, enjoy your stay  : )

Why did he not apply at home for 60day visa and then extend when here. He made it hard for himself.

By the way, l've just arrived from NZ , received my 30day stamp with a very cordial smile and have a good stay. Only had to show passport,  nothing else, no questions asked. All so easy   ; )

And what was that situation 10yrs ago ? Just flew in last weekas tourist,  no restrictions , just show passport. Stamped with a Smile.  I was happy to return !

Just arrived Swampy from NZ.  only needed to show passport and boarding pass for the flight l was on. First time back since covid halted travel. I was stunned how lmmigration attitude had changed towards tourists. No grumpy official giving You and Passport the 3rd degree.  It was a breeze, not having to show outbound flight, hotel booking, vax doc, lns etc etc. Yes l know not required, but now a much more pleasant experience after long haul flight. Even got a 'Very Big' smile and welcome from Lady officer.

Yes, agree with you completely . . 'Absolute Nonsense'  but it was just another one of those illogical laws back in the day. Nothing in this wonderful LOS is ever understandable. Hence we have TV.

My partner talking to her friend today. She's  married to Aussie 20+ years, but they have never done the Thai wedding. She asked her why not.  Answer was , if she marries here, and takes Farang name, she looses her Thai family name. Therefore she can no longer legally purchase land here. 

I realise TiT, but sounds bit of a stretch to me.  Anyone enlighten me before l put my foot in it too deep.

Almost 3yr old Sharp Shower heater unit.

The other morning around 6am, was woken by the sound of shower water running. Not wanting to fully open my eyes, assumed it was partner using it. But then heard her get up to check what was happening.  She thought it very stange water running also as we are the only ones here, and l was still in bed.

She shouts to me , come look quick the shower is pumping out hot water. From first hearing water sound, to looking was approx 30sec.  By the time l got to bathroom water had stopped flowing, but the room was hotter than a sauna.

I automatically checked the main water inlet tap, but that was turned off tight ( as we do after every shower) The main off/on temp dial on unit was completely off (so no power available to heat waterflow). Only the unit outlet control tap was open.

Yet somehow bizarrely the unit had come alive and hot water flowed. But this wasn't just hot water. It was Extremely Hot, to the point l couldn't touch the shower head or hose. The hose was so soft l thought it was going to melt off the metal fittings.

I turned on the main inlet water tap to check the water was going to flow ok and to try and cool down unit and hose. This it did, but no power to the on/off switch.  Not being electrically apt, can only guess there is a fuse somewhere within the box. I did check the mains fusebox, but nothing had tripped.

I haven't opened/removed unit yet, but the mains water still flows through ok.

Has anyone experienced or know why such a Bizarre event could happen.

Also, any good recommendations for a replacement unit.   Sorry the long post, cheers  : )

Hi guys, need to clear 1 ngan plot of weeds/grass etc.  Can someone , preferably with experience, recommend a decent brush cutter/weed wacker or whatever they're called here. Only have GH close by - Kalasin , to make my selection from. Or there maybe an online option ?.  We are looking to sell this plot ( close to town centre ) if anyone interested.  Cheers : )
