    But there is no metric that can link any tourism campaign to tourist numbers unless they must engage with the campaign in some way. Otherwise there are many other measures that influence it. Airline deals, local weather, exchange rates, holiday periods. I’ve worked in this area for a long time and understand marketing 100%.

    A new high, or a new low for Thai Customs dept. This is even more outrageous than the story of the expat shipping his used T-shirts to Thailand from USA and being demanded US$30 each duty by Customs.

    My refund took over 2.5 years, I was never advised that the refund had been paid. I also discovered that despite being a Star Alliance member, Thai won't credit many domestic flights from other airline members, even when full price paid. Complaints to Star Alliance were directed back to Thai with zero response. Result; I will never fly them again.
