Sign is indicative on how ignorant these people really are. If you want tourists, then learn to speak English. Thai education is sub-standard. If the Philippines can do it, so can you. Don't make excuses for your own inadequacies. Stop being arrogant. Stop thinking Thaiand is important, it's not.

Farangs are guests in Thailand. This is not the UK, and such behavior will mostly result in detention and deportation, and of course being blacklisted.

If you intend to work in Thailand, you will need a limited company, non-b, and a work permit, and must employ at least 3 Thai citizens
Better to move to Holland, where your able to operate on equal terms. Then when you have some summer holiday go and visit Thailand for a few months. It's a cheaper solution and more practical.

Exactly! Air BnB ... you know .. the illegal enterprise undermining the hotel industry, and compromising the safety of condo residents, while completely defeating the ability of national security to track "bad guys" ... all shined up and put in a pretty party dress so no one will THINK about it.
Perhaps Thai government should ban all disruptors like AirBNB, just another American idea trying to take jobs away from the local market.

But TAT said that Thailand can breath a sigh of relief from its new found friends (big spenders) from India, China and Russia.

Just go to another country, how hard can it be?

... and you wonder why other Asian countries are becoming very popular ?

Yet another reason not to go to Thailand for medical procedures, when there are so many other countries which do not discriminate.
Try Cuba, excellent facilities and you'll be surprised how many facilities there are, but they're also many other countries which offer great value for money for those seeking medical assistance.
Why would you want to stay in country that doesn't like foreigners ?

I'm going to pass this information to the Insurance companies in Europe, I'm sure they would be very interested on this policy. Charging foreigners based on race is totally unacceptable. The country should be ashamed of itself. Xenophobic, racist policies will not go down well.
Thailand must learn to behave like adults, not like children.

I wouldn't even bother, applications are not being processed, and haven't for many years. Normally 100 applicants per country can apply each year.

So he booked into a glorified hotel. Why do you need to book in, when you can go as an outpatient if you having tests or chemo?

Exerting energy is considered work in Thailand, meaning immigration can pick you up at any time.
I advise you to do absolutely nothing, it's not worth the risk. Sit at home watch TV or drink in the bars. All of us are tourists, so better to behave like one, or risk losing everything and getting deported.

Social Security is only for those that work. When you buck the system naturally the authorities will clamp down on this soon.

OOOOOW UK Pounds, are they worth anything these days ?

Standard procedure, most countries first vet you in order to determine if you meet the criteria.

Currently a retinal scan is much more reliable than finger prints.
No doubt as time goes by, machines will become available that will be able to instantly decode our DNA substrate which will become the norm.

It seems no foreigner is safe in Thailand. One great big jail without the obvious fencing around.
I'm sure Vietnam and Cambodia are cashing in on Thailand's attitude towards foreigners.

Another reason for not coming to Thailand. There are plenty of other countries to visit, and indeed this is happening.

I have a yellow book (YB), and quite honestly it has no practical value anymore. In the old days you could use the YB to renew your driving licenses, but not now as the rules have changed (again).

I find this quite amusing, as I have always been able to buy alcohol regardless. Why this must be enforced is beyond me, given most can purchase the day before and consume on any Buddhist day.
Widespread sugarcane burning continues uninterrupted by local authorities
