    yup , curve the wall so that the cafe is inside the curve, that will reflect his own end noise back

    At the boundary where the cafe is , build a double ,curved wall 3metre high, this should buffer the sound a fair amount, and would avoid any animosity. I know costly but it would make your life easier surely.
