Many foreigners seem to prefer the LBFM... because they know they are not in the market for anything other than the poor socio-economically disparaged female in search of financial security.

Those westerners would struggle to meet females of higher socio-economic and financially independent means...

Of course, its down to individual tastes, but I wonder how much of that 'taste' is actually down to the 'suitor' pulling the wool over their own eyes and convincing themselves that this is their choice because on a subconscious level they know they cannot get anything else.

This can lead to some good debate; I'd say that you're right, but it's simply how society and dating works. For instance, neither you nor I could ever date Jennie from Blackpink, so we stick to what we can get.

In other words, if young Korean pop stars were real options for any of us, we'd all think differently about our dating prospects, at least before falling in love with our current SOs.

Once in a relationship, one can argue that they wouldn't leave their SO for Jennie, even if the latter was madly in love and ready to share her wealth and life with us, which is controversial but I'd rather not get into that terrain, and that's why I set the hypothetical scenario to the courting phases.

All I know is years ago the wife talked me into keeping liquid "swap funds" in both Thailand and the US. When the baht goes up we send USD to Thailand and when the baht goes down we send THB to the states.

We've made around 700,000 - 800,000 baht so far (sorry, we're not rich so the trades are around $5,000-$10,000 but it's still free money) :wai:

Our US bank doesn't charge a bank to bank fee and BKK bank only charges a couple hundred baht.

Why don't you just set up a forex trading account instead? You'll save a lot in the hidden currency conversion fees that banks have (plus the 200 baht from BKK bank).

    Good luck to her.

Shes not  a newcomer to pageants and already won Miss Supernational Thailand 2019 to represent the nation.  Then went onto win the global version.  Miss Supernational 20I9.

At least the Girl has managed to find a paying career & not reduced to some Pattaya stage or goldfish bowl waiting on ugly old men to pay peanuts for a grope.

Probably end up a lot richer than most here criticising too

Why do you compare her to Pattaya stage or goldfish women though? It's almost like you're implying that's what she would be doing if she wasn't a model.

As usual the Thai government has absolutely no clue about what digital nomad's are !!!

They are so diverse as birds in the sky and are not following any rules,...Some are working a couple of weeks, others some months,...but most could do with a tourist visa ! and some even have a marriage visa, very easy to stay low profile under the radar, so !?!? how to get money from them ????

It would be very easy to do: just make a worldwide income tax. Thailand taxes foreign income but only if brought into Thailand the year it was earned.

Worldwide income tax is how most countries solved the issue of independent location, around 70 years ago?

Just to give you an example, a "digital nomad" who is in Spain for more than 6 months in a given year has to pay tax there on their worldwide income, whether they bring that income to Spain or not is totally irrelevant. Their visa status, whether they have a Master's degree or married a girl from the Andalusian countryside are also irrelevant...

Thailand has this weird way of mixing visas and permits with taxation regimes, and also that special way of taxing foreign income that they clearly don't want to remove. All 'solutions' are always just more bureaucracy and red tape nonsense, but one thing never changes: foreign income remains untaxed.

This was a truly remarkable survey. It revealed the fact that people spend according tho their means. Amazing. I've never heard of that before.

Exactly. Salary is 10,000 a month and they need a survey to realize people spend less than 300 b/day on food...

Maybe soon they'll come up with another survey to show that most people spend less than 1,000,000 baht a month on housing.

  6. This is a global problem. They say automation creates jobs, but it actually creates few jobs that are only reserved for a portion of the people.

I spent many years in IT, and I can confirm I was personally responsible for creating systems that left people driving an Uber to make a living. Of course, I had no choice, that's what my masters ordered me to do.

The future is grim. We will probably all be living in the streets in 30 years. Educating people on how to make shelter or scavenge for resources might not be such a crazy idea after all.

You can not enter Cambodia with a tourist visa. You have to have a certain visa to enter issued by Cambodia embassy.

It is $2000 deposit plus the 14 day quarantine.

    Thanks for the correction.

So I guess OP could try Europe. Serbia is fully open, for example, according to your source and this one: https://www.kayak.com/travel-restrictions.

All in the hope a vaccine will be discovered in the meantime,so extensions, regulations ,delays ect & everything else will keep us on the edge of our seat until the miracle cure is found ,not only Thailand but world wide

Even if a vaccine is developed, it will take years to administer it to a significant percentage of the population. We are looking at quarantines and travel difficulties until at least 2022, and I'm a very optimistic person.
