Land borders are more relaxed, apart from Poipet - Cambodia border. You should be ok if you stick to those.
Avoid female IOs, pick a queue with a guy. If you do fly avoid BKK airports, especially Don Meaung, and Phuket airport. Not many reports of problems at other airports, e.g. Chiang Mai etc. Helps to carry 20k baht on you as the required 'proof of funds' too just in case, although there were some denials recently even when people had that.
Is Phuket airport notoriously difficult? I haven't been paying super close attention but it seems like BKK/DMK are in a league of their own as far as strictness.

There doesn't seem to be consensus on whether getting new passport truly solves your problems at Thai immigration.
Anecdotally for me, getting a new passport has completely solved the issue. I was getting a hard time often from IO when I'd enter on my old passport. But the last several entries on the new one have been a breeze.

Anyone have advice on where to go for a pair of suit pant I need to get hemmed and brought in? I know there are a million tailor shops but a lot of them seem scammy and touristy. Any good ones out there?

I've been using a 89 baht 3GB plan -- (*788*4066#). But it recently stopped working. Anyone know what is up? What cheap packages do you use?
Cheers

All I can say is the shop I use has been there for years, has 100k likes and 100k followers on Facebook.
When I go there the customers are all Thai. I doubt the shop would be as successful as it is if it was full of fakes and rip offs.
I have no connection with the shop whatsoever. I'm just speaking as I find.
Link me this shop?

Is there a more local friendly electronics mall that has better prices?
-
Thanks, great response. Any idea what an iPhone 6 or 6s costs?
-
What have you heard/experienced about buying iPhones at MBK? Worth it? What is the price? Can you negotiate?
Thanks!

Does anyone actually, 100%, unequivically know if getting a brand new passport (same name and DOB) solves this problem and wipes your slate clean?
Seems like a mostly just read people guessing on this subject.

Does it matter if you have the 20k cash on hand or are you allowed to just pull it out at a nearby ATM if asked?

Hey people i just moved into a condo on Onnut road right on Khlong Phra Khanong. I was wondering how you catch the boat taxi? How often does it come? Does it take you all the way to Chao Phraya? Once you get to Chao Phraya, do you transfer? Can you get all the way to Sathorn, etc? Cost?
Lots of questions haha, but if anyone know about it I would appreciate the help. Cheers

A friend of mine mentioned that the stock router that AIS installs for customers only has 50mbps down capability. Anyone know if that's true?
-
Anyone know the total cost of AIS PlayBox platinum package (HBO) + 100MBPS fiber? Cheers

Hi All, I just read thru this threat a bit because I am about to move into a condo here in Bangkok, a fairly new one -- Blocs 77 in On Nut. I'm looking to get really strong wifi, something upwards of 75MBPS. The 3BB 200 MB down package is really interesting to me. I have seen several people mention that it is unlikely getting that advertised speed due to wiring used in the apartment building, computer specifications and other reasons. Can anyone explain like I'm 5 what I need to do if I want to get 3bb and actually achieve close to 200 megs down. Thanks

How bad is the the same day visa run from Bangkok? Awful?
Do you think traffic will be even worse getting to the border bc of Songkran?
Anyone have a recommendation for border run van company?
-
Ya i'm in Bangkok
-
Already got the 30 day extension.
-
Is that a recent change or been that way awhile?
-
Ahh ok. I had read differing reports on that. Good to know it is 15, makes the decision easier. I'm American.
-
Already got the extension, mentioned it in the first sentence. :)
-
My SETV extension ends on the 13th of April, a few days from now and in the heart of Sonkran. I need only another 30 days, so I want to get the exemption.
I'm trying to decide between flying and going to the border (I've never done the latter before). Unfortunately, bc of Sonkran prices are crazy high to fly somewhere like KL or Singapore, around 7k THB round trip. I was also considering a border run to Poipet (or somewhere else, I'm a bit ignorant to the land borders) because it is much cheaper around 2400 THB if you do an all inclusive border run service. On top of that Sonkran traffic might be brutal.
All that considered, do you think I should just bite the bullet and fly or go border run? Money is a semi important factor, but not a deal breaker btw.

So ... are SETVs free thru Aug 31st or not? I've seen both answers. Anyone know definitively?
Have there been any reports of denying TV at Chiang Mai airport?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Just curious. Feel like I haven't read about many (any?), but maybe i've missed it. Seems like BKK, Phuket, Krabi are the most common to deny. Perhaps just bc of less international flights to CM?
